This was our 1st time at Sand Cay and our family & the other 2 families we were there with had a great week! We had beautiful sunny weather & a clear calm ocean! Our condo was great! Great ocean view! Loved the beach, lounge chairs, & property. Saw dolphins, manatees, manta rays, & sea turtles. We hope to visit again!

This place is one of the best resorts I've stayed at. I loved that they had beach chairs available for us at the beach at all times. I love how friendly the staff was. The condo was very clean and we loved sitting on the patio in the morning and evening. We plan go return. It was great!

Google
Always love staying at Sand Cay! Beautiful , well maintained grounds and beach! There are plenty of beach lounge chairs that are free to use! The pool area is wonderful and always clean! The office staff is very friendly and helpful. The laundry area is near the pool and is free to all guests. There is a nice grilling area near the beach. We’ve been back many times! 5 stars!

We stayed at Sand Cay for 10 days in January 2025. The staff was very friendly. The location was great, close to many restaurants, grocery store and the post office. Our rental was clean and had everything we needed. We spent time at the beach and the pool. We had a view of the beach and the pool. Laundry was close. Sand Cay had everything!! Weather didn't cooperate so we had opportunities to try different restaurants and do some shopping.

Google
Great place. Each condo is unique and you tend to find the one you like as you try different places. We are quite partial to 106 and 119. Both have great views and easy access to the beach. It's a home away from home for our family and we've been going there for years

Google
Stayed in 201. One of the best we have stayed in The only complaint is the bed is awful. It rolls you to center. Definitely needs replacing .This resort as a whole is a wonderful place to stay. Great staff and location

Yelp
Sand Cay Beach Resort has a beautiful view and is situated on a gorgeous beach .But, the building is 48 years old and many of the units need total renovation. The Gulf Front units are the best located but are not places you will be comfortable staying. AND - they all cost the same regardless of the shabbiness of the interior. 116 and 118 are ugly, dirty and cluttered with old, dusty, stained furniture and carpets. They have poorly outfitted kitchens with a hodge podge of ancient dishware and beat up pots and pans. The bedspreads smell of mold, tobacco and urine. The rooms are so unattractive that being in them truly detracts from the enjoyment of your vacation. They are way overpriced given the fact that they are so neglected. We were scheduled to be here for five weeks at a little under $15,000. Not high end, but truly a rip off for a shabby disheveled hovel. And the management is little help ( except for Sarah). Do not expect Cornell Hotel School graduates at SCBR. These women are not inclined to offer hospitality. They are more inclined to suggest that you are a complainer and they wish you would evaporate. They know NOTHING about Customer Service and are dismissive even when you explain that your unit has a serious fire hazard. They prefer a street fight over any actual problem-solving. Guests on the beach were gossiping about how nasty the office staff is. We will never return here. Somehow being in a run down outdated, smelly condo for a lot of money is not our cup of tea. No refinement or elegance here. Find someplace else.

Yelp
I'm currently staying here in rm 208 and I love it! The balcony looks over the pool and has a nice partial ocean view. Last update may have been early 2000's but who cares? The beach and surrounding area is beautiful! 10 min to St Armonds circle & 20 min to Siesta key. The unit (2 bedrooms) is very clean & beds are comfy. Perfect vacation for couples or family of 4-5

Yelp
Absolutely stunning location! We stayed in unit #304 and our stay was perfect. Gulf facing unit. Short walk down to the private beach. Every amenity you could wish for is in this unit. Beach chairs, beach toys, boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas. Everything you could ask for! Don't forget to bring some K cups for the lovely Keurig provided in the unit. A great Publix is right down the street for grocery needs too! I'd highly recommend this unit for a stay. 3 bedrooms, 3 baths so my family of 4 for very very comfortably. Would Easily sleep more, even 8! Nice pull out sofa in addition to the 3 bedrooms

Yelp
Booked for 4 nights last week in room 204 This is worst review I have done in 40 years of traveling. Do yourself a favor and find another resort Pros: Great beach with free lounge chairs. Clean grounds. Room was clean. Nice deck facing ocean. Didn't try pool. Negative: We booked late so our choices were few. This unit was wore out and shouldn't be rented until updated. Built in early 70's and the unit is mostly the same. Kitchen was right out of 70's. Original vertical blinds that when you open the slats fall to floor. Bathrooms are horrible. Mold around tubs/walls. See pics. Caulk and tile grout falling out. Bedrooms are dark. I was so disgusted that we left after 3rd night. When I explained to office staff they said their maintenance staff was really busy, lol. Will take more then a maintenance man to clean this mess up.

Yelp
Very dated facilities. Old pool area. Unit owners not guest friendly. Required to clean unit to avoid extra charges ABOVE the $150 already charged. Longboat has many better options.

Yelp
This is a great resort. Right on Beautiful beach. Stayed in unit 203 with great Gulf views. Family resort with lots of room in a two bedroom with a den and a terrace with a great view. A great value compared to the hotel next door. Twice as much room for half the price. if you can afford to be right on the beach, this is the place to go.

Yelp
Absolutely the best place to stay on Longboat Key. The beach is pristine and private, the sand is sugary white and the water clear with gentle waves. Each unit is different. The location is central on Longboat. They offer a wonderful pool area, tennis and paddleboarding. Local dining is awesome: Euphemia Hayes, Columbia's, Salty Dog, Star Fish Company, Swordfish Grill, Oma's Pizza and Big Olaf Ice Cream.

Yelp
HORRIRIC/DO NOT STAY HERE! FILTHY However under the circumstances, I think it's best to outline all the issues/ damages that were in place before we occupied the condo: · On the left portion of the sectional, there was a tear on the top right corner as shown in the attached image. · The cleanliness of the apartment was also noted on my check out sheet o Heavy black dust was on all trim § Most of which I cleaned since it was gross and dirty o Orange crayon like marks on the walls by the window in the living room and on the hall walls § Many of which I opted to clean since I didn't want to look at dirty walls all week o The living room rug was stained with a red substance which still had residue attached, like a mushed piece of fruit § I tried to clean and vacuumed it, but refused to scrub something that I didn't cause. Maybe this is something housekeeping should be doing? o The guest bedroom: the quilts were on the reverse blue side upon check in. ( not as pictured on your web site which is shown was on the white sea shell side) Then I noticed that the quilt on the bed closest to the closet (the only bed used for our week), was stained with orange spots. § This should have been laundered or replaced before our arrival considering your high standards, but it wasn't. § Did housekeeping decide that this was the appropriate standard? o The living room rug was un-vacuumed § I moved the coffee table to vacuum the smashed Goldfish like crackers § There was sand and crumbs under the entire couch which I cleaned and vacuumed as well o One of the beach umbrellas was broken and unusable o The porch was moldy and the table and chair were unclean with crumbs and smudges. There were juice box straw wrappers on the ground § I didn't clean the mold, but did Windex the table & chairs and discarded the trash. o The cords for the blinds were a mess and tangled § I actually called the front desk upon arrival since I couldn't lower the blind by the main window in the living room § Steve arrived and mentioned that the blinds are difficult and showed me how to lower Many of your dryers in

Yelp
This was our first time at Sand Cay. Our unit 118 was not clean. The air conditioner vents were black and looked like they had never been cleaned. There was a roach in the laundry room, also piled up dirt and dust. The upholstery sofa was stained in the living room. The comforter in the master bedroom smelled and it appeared to have never been washed, the same for the pillows. There was what appeared to be water stains in the ceiling in the living room and master bedroom shower. The blinds in the master bedroom would not shut completely so you had to hang a blanket over the window for privacy. I don't know how well insulated the walls were but you could hear the people above us walking around all night. The pool water was murky looking with bugs and leaves floating in the water. The cable TV was very limited, very few choices for TV. The TV in the living room and master bed room did not have a clear picture. It seemed that nothing had been updated in years. The mattress in the master bedroom was lumpy and very uncomfortable. They hardly gave you any extra towels and the ones in the unit were very thin and appeared to be well worn. The whole unit just felt dirty.

Yelp
This is our 2nd and last time at Sand Cay. The grounds, pool, beach and most views from the units deck are what most folks come here for and those are great! Inside the units you may find a different scenario. Our unit #204 was pretty much furnished with collectic crap, uncomfortable beds, smelly bathrooms, utility room stuffed with junk and a kitchen that was pretty much worthless. Pots and pans - crap, cabinet drawer fronts all loose, I had to place a wedge under the front of the counter microwave just to open the door, when using the stove the burner kept coming loose from the socket plus none of the cook burners were even close to being level. The bed was like sleeping on the floor and every move you make the bed made noise like loud crumpling paper waking your partner. The master bath area has a consistent smell of sewer gas, luckily we were blessed with weather that allowed us to keep the windows open during our stay. We are not the complaining type and rarely write bad reviews, but this unit needs a major rehab, yes the views you have are stupendous but that is where it stops, we will not return!
