Brought my Chevy HHR to be serviced and now onto my Chevy Sonic. I’ve even brought my dad in for his truck to be serviced. Very professional, knowledgeable and explains everything in detail. I’ve always appreciated that just the smallest thing of calling in and asking prices is always dealt with respect and never an attitude. You want good service, and real work done without filling cheated in pricing. Sand Lake Auto is where you should always go!

Front desk staff very helpful. Mechanic team very helpful and understanding of problems. They let you know when they have availability to get vehicle in. Especially during tire change over season

They are not cheap and it may take a while to get in but they have been very straight with me over the years and they know what they are doing. I have had a few things that they didn't get right the first time and they stood by their work and got it fixed. I will go to them for everything but car washes.

Finding a good mechanic is like finding a good doctor or lawyer. Once you do, you stick with them. This is a family owned and operated local business that provides honest, quality automotive services for reasonable prices. All of my interactions with the staff, including the owner have been positive. My vehicles have been repaired well, and in a timely manner. They are also great at communication which is a rare occurrence for a lot of shops and believe me, I’ve dealt with many in my 20+ years of living in Anchorage. If you are in need of a trustworthy, reliable and efficient auto repair shop, this is the one.

Sand Lake Auto has hands down the BEST customer service. I have been taking my vehicles to Sand Lake for over 25 years and will never go anywhere else. This is a fantastic business, and they know how to treat customers. 100% recommend.

I went here to get my car worked on, and the old lady at the front desk was no help. She said that I needed an appointment and that I should call around 9 to see if they have anything available, which I was fine with, but she didn't even care to take down my information or schedule me an appointment, plus the shop was empty with no other customers there, and I got there right when they opened at 7 am....

I wish they had more than 5 stars…I’d give these guys a 10+. I had my car at a “ supposed transmission shop” for 4 months waiting to get it fixed. I finally had it towed to Sand Lake & a week later they had it fixed. The customer service was OUTSTANDING!!! These are my new “go to guys”.WHAT A HUGE BLESSING THEY WERE !!! Other Businesses could learn A LOT from them. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them !!!

I rarely ever write reviews, but Sand Lake Auto earned this one. I took my F150 in with a 4 wheel drive issue. The communication through the entire process was great. My truck was fixed in a timely manner, and the price was very reasonable. This shop will now be my go-to for future automotive issues.

If you are looking for an auto shop that you can trust that will do quality work, I recommend Sand Lake auto. I had read that they have new ownership, but when I brought my vehicle there, the owner is the same person I've known over the years. Trustworthy and quality work is the name of the game at Sand Lake Automotive. The front desk person was friendly and helpful. I just got a call two weeks after their repair work was done to see how things were going with the work they did, and it's going fine. That's quality customer service.

The driver's side windshield wiper on my daughter's car stopped working. We dropped in unannounced and a kind gentleman fix the issue promptly and without charge. I'm very impressed with this business. Absolutely taking my car there the next time I need repairs.

The second time I brought my SUV to SLA, I had pre-paid for the parts that were needed. I believe the parts were ordered through a dealership, but something went wrong with the part not being right from the 3rd party, so they ended up finding another part that cost significantly less money and gave me a credit. When I came to pick up my vehicle, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I owed a lot less for the labor, because of the credit. They could have easily kept the money and I would have never known otherwise. I appreciate the honesty and they fixed everything I needed on my vehicle. I will definitely use them again, when needed and also recommend them to others.

Got me in the same day I called. It was a Friday and I wasn't able to pick up the car until after closing so I paid ahead of time. While at work I received a pleasant call that they didn't end up using as much labor as they thought and so they were giving me a partial REFUND! Just wow amazing customer service! Thank you! On two separate occasions in the last month my car needed servicing. In both cases the were honest in the services and repairs they recommended. They were also realistic in the time it would take for service, it was done when they said it would be done. The cost of the service work was moderate and fit with the quality of work. Every employee who I've interacted with has been polite and professional. I will recommend them to my friends/family and will continue to take our household's vehicles to them whenever the need arises.

I have three cars and keeping them maintained is important to me. Keeping cars running is expensive and I'm willing to spend the money as long as I believe what the shop tells me. I trust Sand Lake Auto. When they tell me I need to have xxxx repaired or replaced I believe them. They are proof that you can run an honest and customer centered repair shop and still make money. I won't take my business anywhere else.

Best place in town! Just took my truck there. The people there are friendly and knowledgeable. In constant communication with me with everything they found wrong with my 2010 GMC Sierra. Told me prices on how much it was going to fix everything. I'm a truly thankful to find a family owned company that goes out of their way to make you feel like family! I will take my vehicles here every time! Thank you guys for all that you do!

I was visiting Anchorage, and had vehicle trouble. So I called my friend to ask what mechanic shop she would recommend. She told me about Sand Lake Auto, and all the work they had done on their vehicles. She said they even did a follow up call to check on them after their service. So I called them up, and they got me in right away to take a look at my vehicle, despite the fact that I did not have an appointment. They quickly identified the problem, (disconnected fuel line from the filter) and fixed it in minutes. I was on my way just like that. I am so thankful my friend recommended them! If I lived in Anchorage, this would be my trusted mechanic shop of choice!

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a local business in Anchorage. They quoted us a verbal price of $350 when I picked my car up they said it's now $600. They never called to let me know about the price increase while they were working on the car. They also double charged me for parts and when I picked my car up it was running awful. I took it back to them three times to have them fix the problem and they refused to fix it. I finally brought it back a fourth time after getting a second opinion and they blew me off until I said I was going to file a consumer complaint and take them to small claims court. They did a quick fix and now I have to take my car to someone else. The new owner is so rude. I would never recommend this business to anyone.

These guys are truly great, we have a fleet of several older 1987-88 Buick Electras & Estate Wagons, all in very good condition, it is difficult to find a shop that would work on older vehicles. Alex, his dad, and there entire team take superior care of all of our cars.

I am so happy with Sand Lake Auto. Someone jumped my car with the jumper cables set up backwards. It could have be thousands of dollars due to the electrical. sand Lake was so honest and fixed my car and did only what was needed and they didn't do anything that wasn't needed and got me out of there for $110. They are awesome!
