Sand River Masai Mara by Elewana

My wife and I had an incredible time at Sand River Masai Mara. This was the second stop on our Safari Honeymoon and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The entire staff was amazing to us and always went above and beyond. Our guide- Benjamin- made our safari experience absolutely incredible and he alone was one of the highlights of our trip. The you to the entire teams for an unforgettable stay at Sand River.

We loved staying here! Gorgeous facilities, lovely staff and wonderful vegetarian food! Daniel and Jackson were wonderful. Awesome game rides. We saw all the animals! Also, Jeremiah was a fantastic bartender.

My wife and I just celebrated our 50th the anniversary by staying in four of Elewana's lodges. Each was dramatically different in style but all shared one common theme of great location, 5 star service, food and accommodations including safari jeeps. You could easily book your own safari and not use one of the big tour companies. Each resort made you feel at home with wonderful one on one staff. Including celebrating our anniversary in each of the locations.||Elewana Sand River Masai Mara had all the amenities of a luxury hotel in a beautiful secluded area along the Sand River. Safety was a high priority. Hot water bottles in the bed at night. Great wine list and fully stocked bar.||If I ever go back to Africa, I will definitely use Elewana again.

Wonderful experience, so very special. We received a warm welcome from talented friendly staff. The service, food rooms all excellent and the location perfect. A beautiful environment to see so many animals on Safari. Thank you Nicolene, John, Bonface, and our brilliant and knowledgeable guide Joel for making our stay so perfect in every way.

Had an amazing experience at the lodge! Upscale in every way and we have been on safaris in Tanzania and South Africa before. All requests were answered with “no problem” and were executed with a smile. Great service and friendly staff. Well kept property! Game drivers Anthony and Alex were a pleasure! We were 2 families with 4 adults and 5 kids ranging from 3-11 years old! Thank you for your hospitality!

Possibly the best & only camp I could've ever stayed at! My husband and I booked a safari for our 10th Wedding Anniversary, and our one night Maasai Mara stay was at Elewana Sand River. Absolutely mind blowing experience! Our only regret is that we didn't get a chance to spend more time here. The camp itself was located right next to the Sand River, with multiple animals lounging around the bank, great location. The rooms were right out of a Safari Dream! Clean, spacious, with a colonial interior, and oh, the attention to detail! Everything was meticulously thought out, right down to hot water bottles nestled in the bed in order to provide you with a warm and cosy night. Sublime! Oh and the food! Possibly the best meals I've had on this trip - delicious dinner and a great lunch. The staff was so polite, warm and welcoming. We had the best night's stay here, and would 100% recommend it to everyone else looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay at Maasai Mara. Thank you to the management for making this an unforgettable stay for us!

Absolutely fantastic trip and a gem of a camp. Rooms, game drives and everything ! ||Staff were amazing, friendly and very well trained (Alex, Zia and John). The GM Nicolette was great and took a lot of time to chat with us.||All requests were met. I was genuinely very Impressed with the level of quality, value and services offered with Elewana and have been officially converted to use for travels going forward ! ||Food was also great for being so far away in the bush. ||Hope to be back soon !

We traveled to several Elewana properties and they. were all equally amazing! But being on the Sand River which divides Tanzania to Kenya was truly remarkable. The staff exceeded our expectations - the food was truly amazing, the safaris were outstanding - we saw everything and more! While the trip is adventures and pack filled with animals & fun - with little relaxation - the cozy dinners and food with friends on the river were remarkable! HIGHLY recommend!
