We recently stayed at Sandals Ochi (August 2025) and overall had an enjoyable vacation, but the resort is beginning to show signs of wear and could use some maintenance updates.
Our room (#7348) was comfortable and nicely appointed, but the shower water pressure was low and the temperature control was frustrating—swinging from too hot to too cold with little middle ground. Around the property, we noticed missing tiles at the Hill Side community pool, standing water in the Ocean Club hallway on the Beach Side due to poor drainage, and a few staircases missing handrails. None of these ruined the trip, but they stood out.
Dining was mostly a highlight, with several good restaurants to choose from. The Southern Table served great breakfasts, and the omelet station cooks absolutely nailed it every morning. The Jerk Shack never disappoints—worth the trip across the U.S. just for that alone. Kimonos, Le Gourmand, Kelly’s Dockside, The Southern Table, and Vista Sky were all enjoyable. Unfortunately, Dino’s Pizza was the one dining miss. I tried it twice to be sure, but both times the pizza was slightly undercooked and lacked that satisfying crispness.
Entertainment was lively and well-executed, but leaned heavily toward American-style performances. While fun, we wished for more Jamaican cultural showcases. The standout was Jamaican Independence Day—100% authentic and absolutely fabulous. More of that energy and authenticity would elevate the entertainment.
In short, Sandals Ochi offers a relaxing getaway with good food, friendly staff, and enjoyable entertainment, but it could benefit from some maintenance improvements and a stronger focus on showcasing the rich Jamaican culture that makes the island special.
