Sandals Ochi

Ackeem at Valentino's was wonderful! Best service and super friendly. Made our evening very special. Also, a big shout out to Kenal at the Polo Lounge. They consistently made the best drinks at that bar. We enjoyed getting a BBC each evening as our dessert drink to take back to the room!

We want to acknowledge Tiffany from the Vista Sky restaurant. Tiffany is slways friendly with a welcoming smile. She takes her work seriously but with joy and humor and goes the extra mile to improve the experience of each guest. She took the responsibility of making arrangements for us to have breakfast before our departure when the restaurants were not yet open. She also thinks a few steps ahead to anticipate customer needs and seeks to learn about her job and serving customers.. The resort is lucky to have her. They should consider providing additional opportunities for her to stretch her knowledge and experience.

We had a wonderful stay. Our room on the hillside part of the property was lovely. It had a small private pool. A kitchenette, well stocked fridge and liquor, they even provided cake to celebrate our anniversary! The staff was the best! They went above and beyond to make us feel like we were truly welcomed. We would definately return!

Ackeen from Valentino was great. The food was amazing and the service from the staff was well coordinated and thought out. We had some bruschetta and a Caesar salad for appetizers, followed by their steak dinner and lasagna. Everything was delicious and served with perfect timing. The tiramisu was excellent too. Overall, zero complaints. It has been my, and my wife’s favorite meal.

Ackeen and ranaldo my wife and I are both working in fine dining and I work at a five star resort and I can say that the level of customer service at this resort has been beyond my wildest expectations. The people are great. The food is amazing and everybody has been awesome, but the people that took care of us tonight for our anniversary. It’s hard to find people that would do that for you out of the goodness of their hearts, and our hearts are with them as well.

The services provided by the entire Sandals Staffing at Ochi was outstanding and must be recognized as such. Not only is the property extremely well maintained but the entire staff was accommodating and friendly. I witnessed what I believed to be a real family experience with teamwork and commitment to excellence. My only complaint is that tipping was not allowed because regardless of the price these extremely professional employees deserved to be appreciated for the outstanding services they provided. This was my 2nd Sandals experience and by far the best. We are team Sandals for sure and are looking forward to visiting other Sandals resorts but most certainly Ochi. We had a great time at Sandals Ochi on our couples trip! Unfortunately, it rained for most of the week, so we weren’t able to enjoy the water sports we had planned. Pros: The resort grounds were absolutely beautiful. I loved all the plants and flowers, and it was clear how hard the staff worked to keep everything clean after the storms. The rooms were nice and very clean, and room service did a great job tidying up every day. Kelly’s, Valentino’s, and Le Gourmand all had great food. The entertainment was amazing. The circus and drumming performances were highlights, and Lady Cher was an incredible singer at the Rabbit Hole. We enjoyed listening to her three different times during our stay. Cons: For the most part, the staff were very kind and welcoming. However, we did have a few interactions with staff members who seemed short or dismissive. As a young couple, we sometimes felt we weren’t taken seriously. While some comments may have been intended as playful or teasing, we frequently heard remarks about how we look like teenagers, which became uncomfortable over time. We are also hard of hearing, and some staff appeared annoyed when we asked for things to be repeated. Their voices were very soft, which made it even more difficult. One waiter at Valentino’s snapped at us and rolled their eyes several times, which was disappointing. Additionally, we chose not to drink alcohol on this trip. While we understand that this is uncommon at an all-inclusive resort, we felt judged at times and even noticed laughter when we declined alcohol. It would be nice if the resort offered more mocktail options or encouraged staff to be more accommodating and understanding of guests who choose to be sober. The resort is about a 90-minute drive from the airport, which can feel especially long after traveling by plane, so it’s something to keep in mind. Lastly, the resort is very large and may not be ideal for guests with physical disabilities. Getting around often requires shuttles, which I personally didn’t love. Overall, it was a really fun vacation. I just wanted to share some honest feedback and a few areas that could be improved.

Overall our stay was great. Food was wonderful and the performers were great, especially Melissa! The beach is a little small but good enough. Pools are extensive and great. We had a semi-private pool that were really enjoyed. Only complaint was that we always felt like we were trying to be upcharged or sold more like another vacation, buying photos, extra excursions. Our phone in the room went off 5x one evening from 5-6 just with check in’s and sales promotions. At times we just wanted to be left alone. It would have been a nice option to put do not disturb on the phone as well as the room. But otherwise I’d totally recommend this resort.
