Sandbar Beachfront Restaurant and Bar

The food here was very yummy! We ate here 3 separate times during our stay in San Pedro as our hotel was right next door. My favorite dish was the jalapeno smash burger. That had to have been one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. My boyfriend’s favorite dish was the Italian stromboli. The burgers are very messy so prepare for that. The only negative we experienced here was the service. It takes a very very long time to get your food when you dine in, even if it isn’t busy. Overall I would recommend eating here!

10/10! Ate here 4x times during our week long stay on the island. When a small restaurant has such a large menu, you question the quality. But we ordered a different meal for each visit, and everything was delicious! We even ordered a pepperoni pizza when the island was experiencing an evening power outtage. Pizza was prepared and delivered straight to our hotel suite in a timely manner! It was so delicious!!

Highly recommend. My husband and I ate at the sandbar multiple times during our stay in San Pedro. The rice and beans special with stew chicken is fabulous. Jerk chicken and pizza also delicious. Beautiful view of the water from your seat. Pricing very reasonable. We got 20 tacos and a bucket of 6 beers for $30 USD Will return. Offers delivery as well.

Worst place I visited while in San Pedro! Walking by the Sandbar one evening and they were playing some live music so we decided to check it out and have dinner. The music was fine but the restaurant/bar was a dump. It was old and it was dirty! Went to the bar to get a drink and it took a long time to get the drink. Local types had their very filthy dogs in the bar where we were seated. There were many people at the bar smoking cigarettes and the place was packed with flies! As we were waiting a long time for a waiter to order dinner, the smoke from the cigarettes got so bad, we got up and walked out! I would never recommend this place to anyone! Find another place!

Food is great! 😊 Nice atmosphere for watching the game. They even did Pickleback shots so my partner could introduce to some new friends! 🙌🏾 Shoutout to Kevin, he’s the real MVP!

It’s a nice spot right on the beach. We ate here twice during our stay. Our first meal was really good (pineapple glazed fish and shrimp coconut curry), and the cheesecake. The second time we had the fish Caesar and that was definitely a miss. The menu is quite extensive so there’s lots of options. Service could be better.

I stayed in San Pedro for two weeks. The first week I went to all sorts of fancy restaurants and random quick eats. This was my favorite place as it was super tasty and very affordable compared to everything else. Absolute favorite thing I got at least 6 orders of was wet BBQ wings with ranch dipping sauce! Also perfect location by Palapas over the water and many hotels and hostels.

We stopped by Sandbar for dinner on Christmas Day 2023. Arrived about 7:00pm... the restaurant was obviously geared up for their Christmas Day buffet, which had pretty much filled the dining room. We were there to try the pizza based upon the online reviews. We were seated at a coffee table next to the bar, even though there were open tables in the dining room. We were told those tables were "reserved for people coming for the buffet," even though no one sat there in the 75 minutes we were at the restaurant. So, that was a lie... Management was obviously hoping on stragglers coming in late for the undoubtedly over-priced buffet. Not cool... In any event, we were seated, and then ignored for about 20 minutes, even though dozens of wait staff and a couple of mangers kept walking by. We finally ordered a pizza, and 45 minutes later it arrived. This was after our discussion re: "we're waiting 5 more minutes and then leaving." One of our drinks only came 45 minutes into our stay at Sandbar, despite repeated requests to wait staff and one manager re: "we're missing a drink." The pizza was OK, nothing to write home about, a bit over-cooked... The ingredients were ample and fresh, but the pizza overall lacked flavor. The crust was hand-rolled on the edges, nice touch. The dough was a bit sweet for our taste. A decent pizza, but not worth the time and effort it took to get it. Many of the online reviews praise the pizza, but we cannot endorse it based upon our experience. If they weren't willing to provide us the service we were paying for, it would have been easier if they would have told us that... we would have moved on and come back another day, and perhaps had a better experience. We cannot recommend Sandbar for pizza based upon our experience, and unfortunately, we won't be going back to try anything else. That's how it works... Response to Management: I've been in the business, I get how things work. It wasn't just a table for 6 that didn't show up... there were numerous tables in the dining room that were empty, and remained empty the entire time we were there. It's great the staff was there working on Christmas, that's a choice they made, I've made it many times. That said, if you cannot handle the "outliers" on a night when the focus is the grand buffet, let the customers know. That would be charitable on any holiday... in the spirit of compromise, we're here for 10 more days, we'll stop by and try Sandbar out again!
