Sandbar Beachfront Restaurant and Bar

20251212: Calibrate to the fact that this is a hostel catering to divers and the like, that has several private rooms. It has a rooftop pool and bar, a restaurant with American food, and a shared kitchen and laundry. Includes is a continental breakfast which includes some fruit (papaya and pineapple) a carb like a sweet roll or pancake, cereal and milk. I have a private room with a queen bed. The mattress is firm, which i like. The room has a very functional air conditioner and a smart TV. The pool is just long enough to swim short laps so long as folks aren't standing in your path. The Sanbat is about 1 mile north of the southern water taxi dock. Where you arrive, you'll be met by folks looking to rent golf carts and offer taxi rides. Since I had a backpack and light duffle with a should strap, I did what the locals do (like Alan at the hostel and Rishant at Chuck & Robbies Dive Shop do.. I walked. The streets are narrow, cobbler stone and uneven concrete brick, so this isn't a good surface for roller bags.

This isn’t your average Hostel! What a gorgeous property with so much more than expected! The pool, the rooftop infinity pool was spectacular! Very comfortable and clean stay. I’m still in shock from what I paid to be in such a pristine environment. Bravo to the staff who all remembered my name. That’s Ritz Carlton level of service. I’ll be back!

We ate here nearly everyday on our trip. Food we great and well priced. ALL the servers were very nice and attentive. Food never took to long. And check out their daily specials.

We stayed in a private room and can honestly say it felt just like a hotel. Our first experience in a hostel and cannot think of how we’re going to top this one! Everything was top tear. Clean, breakfast, and all friendly people. We met so many solo travelers. Great atmosphere. Their restaurant has great food and TVs if you want to keep up with sports. The rooftop was to die for; will definitely miss the sunsets by the pool. If you go up there say hi to Juan; He was amazing and took great care of us best bartender! Everything was walking distance!

Nice restaurant with decently priced food. A good selection with lots of veggie options. The staff were friendly. Good to watch sports if you’re interested in that however it’s on mute so it doesn’t disturb your meal :)

The food here was very yummy! We ate here 3 separate times during our stay in San Pedro as our hotel was right next door. My favorite dish was the jalapeno smash burger. That had to have been one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. My boyfriend’s favorite dish was the Italian stromboli. The burgers are very messy so prepare for that. The only negative we experienced here was the service. It takes a very very long time to get your food when you dine in, even if it isn’t busy. Overall I would recommend eating here!

10/10! Ate here 4x times during our week long stay on the island. When a small restaurant has such a large menu, you question the quality. But we ordered a different meal for each visit, and everything was delicious! We even ordered a pepperoni pizza when the island was experiencing an evening power outtage. Pizza was prepared and delivered straight to our hotel suite in a timely manner! It was so delicious!!

Highly recommend. My husband and I ate at the sandbar multiple times during our stay in San Pedro. The rice and beans special with stew chicken is fabulous. Jerk chicken and pizza also delicious. Beautiful view of the water from your seat. Pricing very reasonable. We got 20 tacos and a bucket of 6 beers for $30 USD Will return. Offers delivery as well.
