Absolute fun event to go to with a group of friends. We did the squid game and one of the horror games. JP was great as a host. The place was pretty clean and staff were really friendly. Would 100% come back, if you do go make sure to wear something light as you will have a workout!

If you're looking for a family fun night out this is the place to come! It's easy to schedule online. We never experienced VR before so we were so excited! We chose dead Deadwood Valley and we didn't expect heart-racing fun. It was a good experience! It's amazing how real it feels! The staff were so friendly and helpful with everything they walked us through it all. We most definitely want to come back and try squid games and the other games.

Had the best experience! The staff was so friendly, helped us booked our experience & held conversation until it was our turn to play! my husband & i drove 5 & a half hours & let me tell you…it was WORTH IT!!! The staff surprised us with snacks for our trip back home & it was very much appreciated! We can’t wait to come back when we visit again! Thank you Sandbox!!!

Google
5 Stars – An Incredible Experience! My family of four just tried Sandbox VR for the first time, and we had an absolutely amazing time! From start to finish, the experience was beyond our expectations. The technology is incredibly immersive and fun — it truly felt like we were inside a whole new world. A special thank you to Jorge, who went above and beyond to make our visit extra memorable. He was helpful, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly for us. His attention to detail and positive energy really added to the experience. We were all so impressed and satisfied — this is definitely something we’ll be doing again. Highly recommend it for families, groups, or anyone looking for a unique and exciting adventure!

We traveled to Killeen Texas for the weekend to visit my friend. He decided to take us to Austin for the squid game (SandBox VR) We had fun. Great place, great game, a lot of fun. JP and Mark were the team members on duty that night and they were super nice and helpful. They gave us clear directions which made everything easy and fun. Shoot out to JP and Mark!!! I am definitely coming back.

Went with my boyfriend and his two friends! So much fun! So many different games and the two staff members who were working that night were amazing! So kind, everything was clean and prepared for us! Not bad pricing either! Deffinetly will go again!

We had an amazing time at Sandbox VR! It was our first visit, and Victoria made the experience even better—she was super friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. We played the Squid Games experience, and wow… it was an absolute blast! The VR was so immersive, and we were laughing and having fun the entire time. Can’t wait to come back and try another game. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique birthday experience and exciting outing!

Google
What a great experience! Came with my 13 year old son and we had a blast playing the zombie game. Staff was great and quick to get us registered and going. Definitely coming back with friends and family!

Yelp
This place was too fan! Not to mention, I got one hell of a workout to train a Dodge all those bullets in that far cry game. 10/10!!

Yelp
My boyfriend really loves VR and I enjoy killing a zombie here and there, so we decided to check out Sandbox VR before catching our flight back to NYC. This location is in the Domain in Austin. It is a good location as it is on one of the streets with a ton of food options for after. We were the only people here haha it was a funny experience as we went on a tuesday at like 10:45 am, we did the zombie valley one. It was INTENSE since it was just the two of us. I had such a fun time though - I think it would have been easier with a full team of 6 people, but my bf and I had a blast. It was really cool to see our video afterwards. I can't wait to go back the next time we are in Austin!

Yelp
An experience that you should try at least once! Fun VR games that you can play with up to six friends at once. We opted to play the newly Squid Games version with six people. I felt like the room was a bit small for the activities we had to but overall the experience was trippy, and fun. Kinda neat how VR can mess with your sense of balance, and perspective. I do think Sandbox is a bit expensive for what it is, and it is a time commitment to have to sign in, put on/take off gear, and instructional videos.

Yelp
Was soooo dope! It was seamless to get up and running , the staff was friendly and informative. My main gripe is that there needs to be more "representation" as it was mainly white people to select as your VR self. That needs to change. Other than that, it was fun, engaging and want to do it again.

Yelp
I recently had the opportunity to play The Squid Games at Sandbox VR, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. From the outset, I was excited about the promise of an immersive virtual reality adventure, but the reality fell disappointingly short. First and foremost, the customer service for the staff was lackluster. We arrived 15 minutes before our gameplay and waited over an hour to play. We were told, after asking, that they run behind an hour on weekends. There was no communication from any of the staff as to what was happening. Additionally, the game suffered from frequent technical glitches and crashes, disrupting my gameplay and further contributing to my disappointment. It's evident that more thorough testing and optimization were sorely needed before releasing this game to the public. In conclusion, my experience with The Squid Games at Sandbox VR left me feeling let down and frustrated. The subpar graphics, clunky gameplay, and technical issues make it difficult for me to recommend this game to other virtual reality enthusiasts. There's a lot of room for improvement, and I hope the developers will consider addressing these issues to provide a more enjoyable and engaging experience for players in the future.

Yelp
One of the best experiences, I've had in a while! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm welcome and asked to sign in. I immediately noticed how warm the facility was. We did Deadwood Valley! SO MUCH fun. Our game experience host Rushil added to the value of our experience. Rushil was incredible. very patient, friendly and explained everything in a clear and concise manner, and even joked with us a bit. Once we were all setup with our equipment; wrist, and ankle sensors and vest we were ready to head into our room for headsets, eye wear and weapons. We were in great hands and had an amazing time. My only woe was that it was incredibly hot. I wish that the fans in our room was on because we were all dripping with sweat after our game. There is a storage shelf in the room to keep your personal items while you have a great time! There are videos and photos captured of you in action during your gaming session and provided to you at the end which was a great highlight to the experience! I 10/10 recommend this especially for groups. But not to worry if you wanna do it solo, if you choose a game that others are doing and if there is room you'll be paired with them! Enjoy!!

Yelp
Randomly dropped in for a fun VR time Wednesday night and Malcom took care of us amazingly playing the pirate game! Tons of great games to break the ice or just catch up with friends and a fun workout to boot! We didn't realize you couldn't just walk in and quickly reserved a spot online for our personal game session! Up to 6 for a party makes it extra fun. I enjoyed how much more spacious and interactive Sandbox VR has to play with props wise as controllers and being with your party, I would definitely have friends and coworkers get together to do a fun shindig at this space. Fans will help cool you down so I recommend wearing breathable material so you can make sure you get the right clothes out as you will break a sweat. I thank Malcom for such a fun evening and can't wait to be back :)

Yelp
Yoooooo....so first off I am an AVID Gamer! I own 3 platforms and have all of the accessories with them so of course VR is a part of my gameroom! Father's Day arrives and my much better half decided Sandbox VR was the place to go!....and as always she was right! It's right in the Domaine and a very important aspect...the air conditioning was perfectly set lol...a very important point here! 1 The staff was soooo flippin' awesome...we selected Deadwood Mansion as our game and my daughter got a bit scared and the staff was totally supportive and helped her get out and then talked to her about alternatives for next time..this was driven by CeeCee (I believe that was her name) she was awesome 2 the over all experience was dope AF working as a team made the experience all the better! The length of play is all up to you....gotta be good and execute a strategy 3 take note...wearing light weight clothing is advised...your adrenaline will be topped out! Communicate with your team members ahead of time...like right before the game starts...lastly...just have fun because that's what this place specializes in! We will be back often!

Yelp
Awesome experience with the family! The kids and adults enjoyed it. Michael was very helpful and explained everything that was going to take place. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time. Definitely worth the visit! We did the Deadwood Mansion scene! Be ready to scream and have fun!

Yelp
I have been here a few times and had great experiences. Unfortunately, this time was not the greatest. I was very excited to participate in Squid Games. For whatever reason, there were many glitches in the game causing it to pause several times. The pauses made the game not as much fun as I am sure can be. We also started about an hour after the reserved time. With the late start and glitches, we were there much longer than anticipated. Hopefully this was a one-off experience.

Yelp
This is such a cool concept! I give it 5 stars for the customer service and creativity. However the one star missing is from the technical difficulties my boyfriend experienced... The VR wouldn't align properly with his field of vision and Diana (who was amazing!) tried her best to help him. At some point he gave up and just continued on with playing (got a big headache after). At first we though $50 for 30 minutes, a bit short? Not at all! Trust me 30 minutes felt like forever in the Deadwood Mansion. By the end of it, my boyfriend and I were huffing and puffing sweating like crazy! It was more than enough, but unfortunately we ended up both getting motion sickness. Overall, it was a great experience and we're definitely coming back. I love that they give you a little video at the end that goes back and forth between what's happening in person and the game play. Majority of our video was me screaming whenever the zombies got close haha. Really cool experience and it felt more real the longer we played!

Yelp
Very, very cool. A friend and I dropped in and played Deadwood Mansion. Rushil did a great job welcoming us, getting us suited up and setting expectations. The game involves a lot more movement than I was expecting, I think the space is perfect for 2 or 3 people to move freely without bumping into each other. There are way, way more interactive elements than I was expecting! Definitely fun, only reason it's not 5 stars is due to expense. Depending on which experience you select, it'll last 30-40 minutes, so you're paying about $2/min, which is a little steep. Overall, a superb, unique experience!

Yelp
We came by this place which is located at the Domain and I had no idea what this was other than some VR gaming place. The guy asked us if we had a reservation which we obviously did not so asked when was the next drop in and he told us in about 40 minutes. We basically had 40 minutes to understand what this was so I peeked into the rooms and saw blank walls with some fans mounted so that gave me some insight that it would be either some windy location or some skydiving episodes. In less than 10 minutes the guy told us he had a room open up and if we wanted to play now. Without hesitation we did. Thinking this was a glorified laser tag game, I thought there would be other people we would play against but nope it was just us which made me feel better during these Covid times (which apparently people in Austin doesn't seem to acknowledge as I've noticed less than 5% of people wear masks in public). I wouldn't have felt comfortable if i was in a small room with unfamiliar people huffing and puffing next to me. We proceeded to don the wrist and ankle sensors, vest, and helmet with attached microphone so your partner can hear you like firefighters or other rescue personnel. The guy recommended we play Deadwood Mansion which he said was the most popular game BY FAR. During the game, we did bump into each other a few times which freaked us out since we didn't know if it was a real sensation or virtual. I mean during gameplay you are totally immersed into this transformed world so when these worlds collide, you have to be able to differentiate real vs artificially fabricated. And since you do physically move around in the room and shoot, it can make you get a bit sweaty and I definitely felt that. I found out afterwards that the staff will take some videos of you during gameplay so don't do anything foolish like whimper like a baby or lay on the floor in your fetal position when the zombies comes towards you. I found out later that I didn't have to come all the way to Austin to play this because Sandbox VR exists in the bay area in SF, San Ramon, and obviously San Mateo where the headquarters is located. Otherwise they have them in major cities also like Vegas, HK, Chicago, and will soon open in London and Toronto.

Yelp
I went here twice as part of a team event. We opted for Deadwood valley. We were a group of 6 which is the maximum capacity for that game. This was my first time trying an immersive VR game, so I had no idea what to expect. If you are in the same boat, here is how it goes - When you arrive, you sign up and fill up a few forms on the iPads at the entrance. Everyone in the group needs to sign up. We were all adults, so not sure about the sign up process for kids. Then they take your group to an area next to your game room. They give you a brief overview and ask you to wear a few bands with sensors on your wrist and legs. Then you wear a vest. Then you select weapons of your choice. Then they take you to the actual game room. You stand in a big are which was enough roomy for 6 people. They also have cubbies to keep your stuff. Then they give you headset and goggles. I wear glasses and the goggles fit well over my glasses. Then they give VR guns. Once everyone is geared up, the game starts. In game experience was amazing. It feels very realistic. I even took two steps back when the zombie dogs were trying to attack me. You can raise hand to ask in game help from your assistance ( real person). After the game they take off the gear and suggest to go back to the previous area. There our assistance showed us some in game photos and videos. They also email you the videos. It was the best VR experience ever. Malcom was helping us during this session and he did a great job throughout. The second time experience was a little different for the same game. We had different assistance. While he more thoroughly checked our gear, he assigned the weapons without letting us choose. And the worst part was the game crashed towards the end of it. They tried fixing it for 5 minutes but couldn't. So no photos or videos and no satisfaction of completing the game. Our assistance offered us a complementary reschedule but as most of the participants were from out of town, we couldn't. Overall it was the best, very realistic and most immersive VR experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is a little expensive ($50 per person in December 2022) but I felt it was worth it for the whole experience. Tip: Everyone was sweating a lot after the game. So wear clothes accordingly.

Yelp
Buggy the whole time. Barely played for 8-10 minutes out of a 30 minute game. Do not go here. You'll be better off anywhere else.

Yelp
10/10 one of the coolest things I've ever done, but couldn't do it every day! Warning: if you are scared easily, have motion sickness, vertigo, etc even remotely close DONT do it. If you're an adventurous person and just want to have some nerdy gamer fun- worth every penny. Arm bands, foot bands, backpacks, vests, guns, headsets, vibrations and blood splatter! All sensory feelings are firing and it really does feel like you're being chased by zombies or getting flown into outer space by a rocket. You really have to experience for yourself!
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
All Shooter games but my son and his three friends couldn't stop talking about his VR birthday. Sensors and cameras in the bays so play is untethered. Can get very loud, particularly when you have a bunch of girls shrieking at the top of their lungs in the adjacent bay but my son's party wasn't phased. Said they thought it was background FX for their zombie shootout
google avatar

Angela G.

Yelp
We tried the alien experience on a weekend. They gave very clear instructions and it was really fun and immersive. While you're playing, they take lots of pictures and videos for you in and out of game so it's really nice for memorykeeping. Would recommend!

Yelp
Price is usually directly associated with quality and friends, you DO NOT get what you pay for here. Out of the gate, our host informed us that our space would be available in 10 minutes, and after waiting 30 minutes, we were finally fitted for our VR gear. Not a big deal, as we didn't have any other plans that day, but possibly a red flag? During the VR experience, we had to stop 3 separate times because the mics were malfunctioning with either volume or latency issues. The audio issues were never resolved, so we just decided to endure, and given that audio is an integral part of the "experience", frustration ensued. We finished the game, watched some highlights, and got the hell out of dodge. Look, to a non-gamer, the "experience" might be a slightly below average time for a slightly above average price, hence 2 stars instead of uno. That said, if you are a gamer who is reading this, just purchase the Meta Quest already. It's more fun and undoubtedly cheaper in the long run. Cheers.

Julie L.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. Was interested in learning more and the guy in the front hardly mumbled and was not interested in helping us.

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience at sandbox VR, here's why: Private game: although it was only two of us, we get to reserve the room to ourselves without extra fee. Accurate sensor: besides a gun, I also used a shield in the game which is based on my hand gestures. The sensor is very sensitive and accurate. It makes me feel like I'm really using an actual shield to do all sorts of stuffs. Great visual: I was screaming a lot during the game because sometimes it's a little too overwhelming seeing that many monsters attacking at the same time. But that's what makes the adrenaline flow!! Sound: I know someone commented that you can hear other players yelling in other games. I was concerned about that at first because when we arrived we can hear two other players yelling in another other room very clearly, however once we put the headsets on, they were able to cancel all the noises! So if yours don't it, check with your guide for another set! Beginner friendly: I normally don't play any video games, this experience was more for my boyfriend. I was slightly concerned about being bad at playing the game. But the game design compensated that: it was easy to catch on and hard to fail. For those more competitive players, they do have a score board at the end where they list everyone's performances and choose the MVP of the day. When we came out of the game, we looked like we just got out from a roller coaster. It was a BLAST!!!
google avatar

Troy W.

Yelp
Decent, was hoping for much more though. The game was littered with lags and the guns were slow, inaccurate, froze up, just plain sloppy. By the time you can shoot the zombies are already on your back. My oculus at home is better than this game. Which by the way costs less than we paid to have 5 people play tonight.Great concept, but missed the mark in my opinion. Would definitely not return for the price we paid to fumble around with pathetic responsive guns for 40 minutes. Too bad to, was really hoping for a great VR experience.

Yelp
I have been to two different Texas locations, and the one in Austin left a lot to be desired. First, they were almost 30 minutes behind my scheduled appointment time, which means they were not sticking to their grace period rule. Our equipment malfunctioned on one of our players. Third, I truly believe they ended our segment early to help pull in their delay. I say this, because it abruptly ended at the end. When watching the closing video, we had no interaction with staff...advising us to what we were doing, what to do next, or anything really. As much as you pay, one would expect a better experience. As I started this message, I have been to two...so knew something was really off on this day. I wanted to email my experience to the store, but there is no email on their website.

Yelp
TERRIBLE SOUND. I never write reviews, But this experience was SERIOUSLY LACKING. This is my 3rd visit, first 2 were at the temporary, smaller location across the street. This location is larger but WORSE in many ways. Let me explain: Prices increased from $40 to $45 per person. Small location had 3 people in the lobby, ready to help guests...This location had NO ONE in the lobby to help us. There were several workers who made eye contact with us, but were too busy helping guests in other rooms...so they would quickly scamper away..too busy to even acknowledge us. So after checking ourselves in via their touch screens, we walked around aimlessly looking for the bathrooms...which we never found. So we ventured across the street to a restaurant for that. However, by far the most ANNOYING aspect of the experience was the TERRIBLE SOUND in this venue! Concrete floors, tall ceilings, and a large open environment, basically the WORST design for sound. Each "room" was constructed with scaffolding with no ceiling, and no doors to close..so these areas are more like sections, NOT separate normal rooms. This causes HUGE SOUND PROBLEMS. i.e. You can hear ALL the other guests shouting/screaming/talking in ALL THE OTHER ROOMS. This interferes with YOUR VR experience, when you're trying to listen to what the game is telling/instructing you but all you can hear is the people screaming in the next room! So annoying! Basically, YOU CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING clearly because your headset volume is too low, and the noise pollution outside is too loud. They REALLY need to invest in acoustic panels on their walls & ceiling and/or build separate CLOSED rooms with thick walls and heavy doors you can close to BLOCK NOISE from the other rooms! Also, when our experience was over, the small location used to share behind the scenes photos and videos with us, in addition to the "trailer" of our experience...at this location, they ONLY give you the trailer, and it takes forever to download to your phone because of their slow wifi. Overall, the sound alone and poor customer service makes me never want to go back here. They have some serious issues they need to fix if this company plans to be in the VR business long term. SOUND is half the experience and they've completely ignored it. They just want to shuttle you in like cattle, do your game, then leave and let the next people play. Really disappointed. Stay at home and try VR in your living room, it'll probably be a much better experience and you'll save the $45 per person. Sandbox VR...get your act together.

Yelp
Came as a group of three, and this our first experience with VR. Reserving a spot online went smoothly. They recommend arriving early to go through the setup process, and if you're not familiar with the Domain, I would set aside extra time to park in the garages and walk over. The staff was excellent, informative, and friendly. We were all a bit nervous, but they were good at getting us excited for the experience. For those with glasses, you can't wear them under the VR headgear, but they provide lens inserts from -2 to -7. The game we chose was Deadwood Mansion (the zombie one). The overall experience was super exciting, fun, and trippy. No experiences with motion sickness either. The games and the suits you wear really do draw you in and immerse you into the environment. Even though our group didn't move around too much (mostly turning in place), my heart was for sure racing. I would definitely do this again. At the end, they show you a summary of how you did and some in game and real life pictures and videos, all of which are also emailed to each player afterwards.

Yelp
One of the most immersive VR experiences I've had located snuggly in the domain. I came here with a friend to try this out since neither of us had. I will say assuredly, depending on your game, the scares maybe virtual, but the fun and excitement is certainly real. Atmosphere: The overall place does feel like something futuristic, from the design of the rooms to the equipment setup. It certainly makes for something unfamiliar but intriguing to those whom are curious. Game: Now for the real star of the show, the games themselves can vary in experience but the ones my friend and I chose certainly got the heart pumping. I believe it was called Haunted Manor...the one with zombies. Hey it was October so had to go all the way. I really enjoyed it myself, even being an avid video gamer, I still found certain elements exciting and different. The suits, guns, and feedback you receive from the VR makes it all the better and really takes you away from the world you were in. Added bonus for adding small props like wind to make it feel even more authentic. Can't say much more about the game itself without giving spoilers, but I will say that experience may vary depending on the game chosen and players skill. Even though my party passed I would still easily pick this or another game up to try again. Service: Service is overall very friendly, although I do want to add that they must run a tight ship due to the timing of the games for reserved parties to get the full experience. So if you have a reservation for 2 PM for example, please be sure to arrive no later than 2 PM. My party initially was about 10 minutes late but due to the nature of the experience they offer we had to reschedule. With that said the service is very friendly and helpful in trying to accommodate with what they have. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here with this very different take on a VR experience that you don't often get without highly specialized equipment. I only wish that session times were a bit longer as the excitement left me wanting more and that they had options for single players. With that said though if I have a party or friends interested, I'd be more than happy to recommend this place.

Ayanna C.

Yelp
Very rude staff member with terrible social skills. I was one minute late to my party and they told me the game had already started and it was too late. I tried to ask questions and they just ignored me.

Yelp
Went earlier this year as I was invited by my friend for his bachelor party. We arrived 3 minutes after our scheduled time. This was all paid and handled by my friend so I did not read about the shortened time via policy. However, when the manager was explaining this to our group, he was a complete ass hat/d-bag who was belittling us and making a bad reputation for this new establishment. I understand policy, but I don't understand why he had to be a condescending smart ass to us. Don't know if it's because we were non-white or young men but me and my friends did our best to bite our tongue and not push back. However I want to advise all current and future patrons that the manager is a dumbass when it comes to emotional intelligence. Hope you guys have the pleasure of not meeting the guy. Hope this review helps everyone and maybe change that dudes attitude.

Yelp
Sandbox VR is a great way to hang with your pals and shoot aliens or fight pirates at the same time. The rooms are set up to give you a cool experience with sensors on your feet and hands as well as the helmet. And then you get a video clip emailed to you after. Great for birthdays and a fun new thing to try!

Amy H.

Yelp
Deadwood Valley was a great experience for my husband and I. The only downside was the "technically difficulties" which delayed our start time and we did not received our full 30-40 mins of game time that we paid for. The staff was vague and our game host was even worse.. she was very rude and seemed like she did not want to be there. At the end of the game, she sled us the box to return the items and just walked off.. it was out first time, so we were unsure of the exiting steps.. or were we could see our post game videos.

We have done 2 office team events here and its so much fun! My team loves this place and always recommends it whenever we are planning out next outing.

Yelp
Before entering the game we were told this experience would change our lives. And honestly, it did. It was absolutely amazing in there! It was absolutely so much fun and I really enjoyed fighting my way through the game. We had done technical difficulties. Like it lagged for my partner. The image completely went off for me. But our guide, Seb was there to help us through it. I always thought since this experience was less than an hour long it wasn't worth the money. But believe me, I was very happy it wasn't an hour long. Maybe twenty or so minutes in I started to sweat from all the movement I was doing. I was swinging my sword around, reloading my gun, and running away from the bad guys wildly. And I'm a pretty fit person but I was already starting to feel tired. Everything looks and feels so real too! When you get attacked your vest vibrates so you really feel like you're getting attacked. The bad guys get closer. It's a lot in there!! The best part has to be the birthday celebration at the end. I went the day of my birthday and right after the experience there's a digital room that has cake and beautiful decorations. There's even a happy birthday song that I got to see myself dance to! I felt so incredibly special. It was icing on the cake for me. I loved the experience so much! I'm telling you guys if you're reading this you need to try it at least once.

Who would've thought you would get a work out in this VR setting!? Art was great to explain how it works and to get us fitted in our gears and "weapons." We were able to maneuver at ease after we were fitted. It's definitely an immersive experience! They're doing their pre opening prices at $28/person in February so jump in for a chance for a 30 min journey! We played two VR Games: Deadwood Mansion: story mode mission with zombies! UFL (Unbound Fighting League): fighting with your friends or significant other is hilarious! We can't wait to try the other games they offer!

Yelp
If you're looking for something different to do, this is a great experience. I have been 6 times not and have enjoyed myself every time. I have done all the experiences except the fighting one because I always come with the max group (6) and only two people fight at a time so you get to rest for the majority of the experience. My favorite is Star Trek because it has the most developed storyline. Second is the Amber Sky which I also think it the hardest. Third is Davy Jones and I also think this is a good starter one. It seems less intense that the others. My least favorite is the Deadwood Mansion. For all, come prepared for a workout and fund times.

Yelp
Such a great experience to do with your friends. My girlies and I did this for my bachelorette trip and we had the most amazing time. Jakob, the employee who helped us, was so great and hyped us ladies up. Complimenting us saying we did better than most 1st timers. He was fantastic, the games are fantastic! Just keep in mind you've got a lotta gear and your running/moving, so dress accordingly!

Yelp
To be fair, we were almost 10 minutes late to the scheduled time and were told we would lose 5 minutes of playtime. However our completion time was only 16 minutes, as the photo shows. It may have been because getting their equipment working properly took longer than it should have. The vest I was given didn't have the hardware to strap it in properly. So we had to wait for them to swap it and I had to reset my gear. Then at the start, my brother's visor wasn't showing anything. We had to wait for them again to fix that. The VR was really immersive, when it was working properly. About halfway in the experience my audio cut out and I couldn't hear any game sounds or my teammates. I had to remove one earmuff just so i could hear my team talk, and they couldn't hear me. This completely ruined the experience for me. But I'm glad everyone else could enjoy it. The bottom line is: for how expensive this 30 minute experience is, I expect a really great time and this failed. Especially because we paid almost 30 bucks for what ended up being just 16 minutes. I was told I'll be refunded for one of the four admissions (mine) but overall I am not happy with this place and do not recommend it.

Yelp
This was an absolute blast! We had seen this on YouTube at the beginning of Covid and wanted to give it a try and we were NOT disappointed! The location itself was really well done - it was spacious and felt very futuristic. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful from start to finish. We opted in on the zombie experience and no joke I was terrified! The gear itself was clean (they were taking extra care to sanitize everything in between guests). The rooms were for your group only so that also helped to maintain social distancing as well as keep the experience just focused on your group. I can get motion sickness from activities so I was worried about that but the staff helped to adjust the goggles and I didn't experience any of that. The zombie game WAS TERRIFYING! I was screaming throughout and my Apple Watch actually asked if I was exercising because my heart rate was so elevated (but I guess that's half the fun). Overall, the value for money was spot on $45/pp on the weekends seemed like a lot but the gameplay was long (20 minutes) and the experience was fantastic. After you finish the game you see videos and pictures of you in the game - it all is truly well done! We will absolutely be back!

Yelp
I've gone to this VR place twice now and each time I'm having a blast! I've done the haunted mansion zombie one and then the alien robot one. Haunted zombie one by far my favorite! The VR is so amazing. You really do feel you are really shooting zombies and getting attacked by rats! You can have up to 6 people and during the game you can all talk to each other. For the zombie one you get to pick from different guns, pick the double pistol! The alien robot one you all have the same guns. At the end they send you a highlight video which is hilarious and if your staff is super nice they take photos of you during the game. It was my spouse's 30th birthday and they made a VR birthday celebration party with a cake! Instead of regular bullets we were able to shoot bubbles at the birthday boy. I can't recommend this place enough! The staff told us there is a second "episode" or whatever you call it to the zombie game coming out in summer. We will definitely be back to play it!

Yelp
Update 7/6/21 - So I've been back to Sandbox at least 6 times now. I still feel it's worth checking out. At $50/person it may seem steep - especially for only 30 mins of play but I've yet to regret going. So far I've done Amber Sky, Deadwood Mansion, Curse of Davy Jones and Star Trek: Discovery ( in order of favorite to least favorite - keep in mind I loved them all). There are some things I'd looks to see improved upon - none of these things should dissuade you from trying it out - the staff does everything they can to give you a great experience: * It would be great if they had a membership type option. Definitely something myself and friends would participate in if they had such an option. * They often have technical difficulties starting the game; sometimes audio, sometimes the weapons, sometimes the VR tracking of your avatar is a little off ( your arms or legs can get messed up). However, the staff ALWAYS works to get these issues fixed and you are never cheated of having a full experience. * The layout of the place has all the VR rooms in a fairly open floor plan - meaning there's 4 walls and two very large door openings - and no ceiling over the room ( other than the building's ceiling 12 feet in the air) - so you hear all the other customers in the other rooms. It can be very loud even with your headphones on - and the noise of other people yelling and reacting to their own game bleeds into your experience. It would be great if they improved the noise canceling of the headsets and added some type of sound deadening panels to the walls and hanging from the building ceiling to minimize the excess noise. * Virtually every time I have used the VR goggles I have had to ask them to clean the lenses because they have a streak or something on them. It distracts from the clarity of the video you are looking at. Again, the staff will immediately bring a wipe in and clean them up for you but it'd be nice if that was part of their normal maintenance between games - and if it is - they need to do a better job. The visual part is the biggest part of the experience imho and needs to be crystal clear for the best experience. * They haven't been open that long and the equipment is already beginning to wear. The vests are starting to tear in spots. I've had weapons / joysticks sort of break on me during a game ( didn't affect my playing other than I had to adjust to a joystick that's loose or a gun that's not triggering well). They need to stay on top of that. * Right now, it seems that all the data/updates for the VR is coming from Hong Kong. It'd be nice if they put some data centers closer to the country you are in to reduce latency and updating issues. Despite these observations, I still think this place is awesome and I HIGHLY recommend trying it out at least once. Felix the GM is dedicated to giving the customers the best experience. It's a lot of fun and quite a workout even though you are not really moving around much within the room. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
This place was an absolute BLAST. We played the Deadwood Mansion and there is literally no way you're not screaming while playing this. The haptic vest adds so much to the experience that you'll be jumping out of your skin. It's better than previous VR rooms we've tried because it's wireless, so you're not tripping over yourself, yet it feels very responsive. There is a lot of teamwork involved. For example, if one of you dies, the other has to come over and put a hand on the other to bring them back. We did just a duo, but can't wait to try it with a larger group. Our gamemaster was Jackson and he was fantastic right from the onset. Friendly, funny, and made sure we were informed and ready to roll. There is literally 100% chance we come back to try the other games. He also told us that they'll be upgrading the equipment soon and adding a sequel to the Deadwood Mansion, so I have no doubt we'll be trying that out. If you love a good VR experience, this is completely worth it.

Yelp
Our experience here far exceeded any expectation i could ever had. It is Impossible to describe, you just have to experience it for yourself. Grab a couple of friends and check this out. It was $39 per person, and worth every penny. We did Deadwood Mansion, and will be back soon to try the rest.

Yelp
All of the employees were rude and talked in a degrading tone. Don't waste your money here unless you like to be treated with the worst customer service and your time wasted with all of the technical difficulties and rudeness. Worst experience ever DONT go here.

Yelp
This was hands down one of the coolest experiences ever I have ever had. We did deadwood mansion and if you are questioning whether to go this or not-just do it! You won't regret it!

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. The entire staff is awesome, Curtis did a great job taking care of us. I was a bit nervous since this was my first VR experience but he was very helpful and put us at ease right away. We did the Amber Skye one and it was so much fun, even if you're a beginner and don't play a lot of video games it's super easy to pick up and definitely a must try!! My only regret is that we only booked one game, we'll be back back for and try all the other games soon!!

Yelp
Sandbox VR was such a cool and fun experience! We originally booked one session but ended up booking another right after because of how much fun it was. If you're looking for an action packed session, definitely try their zombie game. You wear full gear including a headset, wrist and ankle sensors, and a vest that imitates some of the reactions in the game giving you a fully immersed experience.
