I had the absolute best time ever here. I didn't know what to expect, but Jerome and Vi were so patient with us and thoroughly explaines everything we needed to know in advance, so we could enjoy without concern. We did the Stranger Things Catalyst and as a Stranger Things fan, I think it was very well done. Truly, had the best time.

We went to Sandbox on Cumulus-LA to play “Stranger Things Catalyst” and it was a great experience! It was so much fun and immersive. Also, Jerome was such a great host, he was very attentive, explaining all the details for us. Everyone should try it (they have other games there), but this is a MUST for Stranger Things fans. 5 stars!!!

I was running 10 minutes late. ERIC WAS PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS! HE MAD SURE MY GIRLS AND I had the proper experience. He gave us a later booking and we had the best daddy daughters day. Thank you for helping us have an awesome Sunday. 🙏

Had the best time at Sandbox VR in the Cumulus District in Culver City. My friends and I did the Stranger Things experience and it was insane in the best way. Super immersive, super fun, and honestly felt like we were dropped right into the show. Huge shout out to Chris and Avery. They were both amazing from start to finish. Super patient, friendly, and made sure we understood everything before we got started. They hyped us up, gave us great tips, and kept the energy high the whole time. You can really tell they care about making sure everyone has a great experience. If you are in LA and love Stranger Things or just want to do something different and fun with friends, I highly recommend this location. Five stars all the way. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of the most fun experiences of this year, the check in was easy, everything clean and organized. Brian is very helpful and sweet, I had blast, with the phobia map, i was screaming badly oh boy i screamed, i apologies for anyone that could hear me, it is worth it! it is definitely 10/10 recommended. We already booked our next visit lol, it is really fun and such an emotional release after all the screaming hahaha! Seriously You will like it! Book it now!

Ripley did a great job! She was so kind, so informative, and so accommodating. You all were. Our initial reservation was at 8:15, I don’t think we started until about 9 o’clock (due to us just lounging, catching up, and eating in the lobby! You guys let us really relax and have a great time. Ripley also let us sample all of the slushy flavors. She also played my friends new single through the speakers - we were there celebrating his birthday! That was so kind. Thank you for a great experience!

Absolutely spectacular, much more amazing experience than I was expecting. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were assisted by Avery, Eric, and Ricky. All went out of their way to make it an entertaining experience. They make sure you understand everything and yet the set up is very quick so you’re gaming right away. The food was much tastier and higher quality than I was expecting it to be. And as for the game, which in our case was the dinosaur one, it was so immersive and amazing. I never wanted it to end. We did it as a family with a small child and it was just perfect. I couldn’t recommend this place more if you’re in town looking for something to do, and it was affordable too! And if all that isn’t enough, they made sure to not let us leave without validating our parking. It was as good as customer service gets, and a visual adventure I’ll never forget!

We did the Stranger Things Catalyst story and it was an awesome experience. Right when we walked in we were greeted by the friendliest staff members who guided us through the entire experience with patience, knowledge about the technology, and exceptional customer service. We went on a Friday in the early afternoon and it was not busy at all. They have a lounge area for food and drinks for your group to enjoy or anyone that's not doing the experience to relax in. Our favorite part was the ending highlight video complete with narration by one of the staff members which was a fun post-experience memory for us to look back on. Thanks to the Sandbox VR Culver City team Anthony, Brian, Ricky, and Chris for making our experience unforgettable!

My son had a blast at this place, the only down fall was that you pay $57 an hour but 30 mins goes into getting you and your team suited up... so you only have 30 mins to play your VR experience. I feel that you getting suited up should not include your 1 hour play time.

I first played a VR experience like this back in Tokyo in 2016 and it absolutely blew my mind. I've been chasing that same level of tech ever since, and most VR spots here in the U.S. have been...prettttty lame. Then I found Sandbox VR and WOW. The tech, immersion, and gameplay are next level. Easily the best VR experience I've had outside Japan. My friends and I loved it so much we've already been back 3 times. Every visit has been just as fun as the last, and it's become one of my go to spots for bringing friends and out of town guests. The cherry on top? They send you a free video of your group afterward, which is hilarious and such a cool touch. My only complaint is the price!!!! It's fine if you come to play just one game ($50-60/pp) but it adds up fast if you want to play several games or come regularly. I really wish they'd: 1) Introduce a rewards or loyalty program for repeat guests, and 2) Offer discounted package deals for people who want to play multiple games in one visit If they could tweak the pricing a bit, I'd basically live here. Still, hands down one of the most fun, high quality group experiences around. This isn't just for kids, adults will have an equally good time. On one visit there was a birthday party and it looked like so much fun with a table full of cake and food for the kids to eat in between games. I bet it's a great spot for adult birthday party too, they have a bar!!!! Tip: - You can ask the staff to "turn down the intensity" level for some of the games if that is a concern - budget ~1 hour per game (this includes putting on gear + instruction time) - of the Deadwood games, Phobia was our fave

My first experience. I planned a birthday party for my 9 year old niece. It was a great decision because everything was amazing. From the easy planning and reservation process to the actual event. We chose a package with two games. 6 kids to a room (we had 12) The staff were ALL terrific. Helpful and efficient. They're especially patient when dealing with the kids, getting them fitted with jackets, goggles and headphones then explaining everything. It was fun to watch the kids enjoy this. We had a designated area and brought in pizza, cake, drinks and gift bags. A fun time was had by all. Our little birthday girl, Kaya said it was her best birthday yet.

The VR experience was very impressive. Everything from player height to lagless motion made the gameplay very immersive. Some friends were worried about a history of motion sickness but had no issue during the game. The staff are super helpful. My group of 6 were all first time players and they explained everything very well. It did take some time still to figure out the strategies but that's part of the fun. We were also pleasantly surprised to find out the videos are included in the tickets, not an extra cost like so many other experiences use. They also offered us 20% off if we booked another game within 24 hours and we happily took advantage of that offer.

I had no idea this would be as fun as it was. I thought it would be good, but it was outstanding. The staff was great. The graphics were great. The device for the Stranger Things surprised me. I was happy that it wasn't just a gun it made it really unique and fun in a way that I didn't expect. It was really cool to live in the show and fight the Demogorgons and other monsters and things from the series it's easy enough that I was able to figure out how to do it, engaging enough that it kept my interest and active enough that I was sweaty and tired when I was done so nice little workout on top of It I highly recommend this. You don't have to be a kid to go here you could have just as much fun as an adult who wants to play I also love that there were moments that I genuinely got frightened in the VR and I was like thinking to myself you're being silly. You're standing on the ground. Everything is fine, but the VR had me believing that I was not fine and I was scared so quite a bit more yelling for me than I anticipated overall, my opinion is everyone should at least try at once. It's really fun. And they send you little clip videos afterwards you can remember it and share it with your friends and family that missed out.

This place was amazing and such a fun experience. We booked online, made a reservation and arrived 15 mins early to fill out waivers and get instructions. The staff were welcoming and fun and very helpful with explaining rules and procedures with the technology. We selected the zombie experience and boy was it so fun and realistic. I screamed the whole time, it was scary and downright fun. Because we went for my sisters birthday, they had a screen and a snippet of a birthday party, it was such a nice cute touch to the experience. You are able to sit, lounge, eat and order drinks as they have a bar. I definitely plan on retuning. Parking was a bit confusing but other than that, this place was really fun and enjoyable.

We had a blast! Everything about the experience was top notch. Clean, new facility. Jerome was very helpful and made everything a success.

PSA: if you've tried other VR places, forget them all -- Sandbox VR is so much better! Unlike other places where they may give you a vest and a weapon that allows for tracking in the VR world, Sandoval ALSO gives you individual hand and feet trackers so you feel truly immersed in the VR world. First time I tried one of the Zombie games, and it was amazing! Our whole team of 6 strangers were running around shooting up zombies, ducking, helping tag each other back in -- we were all covered in sweat at the end but we made it! Second time i tried the Squid Game, less running around but I was still covered in sweat at the end, and still extremely fun! All the workers there are very friendly and clearly passionate about VR. The space feels very new and modern, clean bathrooms, and the clean water fountains were well appreciated. You can also buy drinks and snacks. Free 2 hour validated parking. It is a little pricier ($60 per game), but worth it! Can't wait to come back and try other games!

Squid Game had exactly what I want from VR as a roleplayer: a sense of "presence" that teleports you to a new place and feels immersive. The game had enough flexibility to allow me to define my own play-style without artificially imposed limitations. Staff were enthusiastic and helpful and I enjoyed the beverages on sale. Great experience and activity if you've never done VR. We booked ahead for 2 people for my friends birthday for Amber Sky and they were accommodating because we were running late. They validate parking at the parking lot and when we arrived you can hear everyone screaming playing the zombie game. It's like a theme park virtual experience and super cool. I had some issues focusing but I was able to adjust it. They also serve food at this location! We got some chicken wings and some slushee samples. Jordan was our host and super helpful! Would recommend this activity for the whole family!

Get ready for a real trip and a great 30 minute workout. Better than therapy you take out all of your stress out on protecting the world as a robot protecting it from aliens. I screamed out all that was within me and will sleep well tonight. We went to Amber Sky 2088. Don't forget they do validate parking . Worn out from playing so going to bed lol! If you haven't tried it please check it out. It's unbelievable.

Avery was amazing! From the moment we walked in, he was super friendly, patient, and made us feel completely comfortable. The customer service was top-tier ! he explained everything clearly and made sure we were having fun the entire time. He truly made our VR experience one to remember! I'll definitely be returning and recommending this place to others.

Came on a Sunday night to the new location! We didn't make reservations til a few hours before but they had lots of space. We played the Zombie themed game and I was really surprised at the intensity of the VR! All of the gear was light and you got to hold the real life weapon which then worked in game. We had only 1 technical issue (my vest was not turned on and therefore was not vibrating when I got hit) but the rest was SMOOTH sailing. 11/10 would return for a game here at this clean and spacious location.

Had played a game with strangers but by the end of it! We were hanging out like old friends. This VR experience was awesome and it took us all on a journey that was vivid and well crafted. The bar inside is a nice place to hangs out while we waited for our game to load up and the staff brought good energy and helped us emerse ourselves into the world we were going into. I loved this place and I would recommend you check this out asap!

Parking is horrible!! The place itself is small and super pricey for the amount of time they allow gaming, customer service is ok depending on who's helping you but overall they're mostly nice.

I've done a VR experience once before and that does not compare to Sandbox VR. The facility is clean and spacious. There are fans everywhere but I think maybe they should pump the air conditioning more as you will sweat! There also is validated parking in the Cumulus lot, which is super helpful in LA. The staff is super friendly and helpful - Emma and Maxx helped me on my second visit and they were great! I forget who helped me on my first visit, but they were great also. As soon as you enter (assuming you pre-purchased your tickets) go to the right and complete your waiver. After that, a staff member will come and escort you to your room. They'll explain how to put your gear on and run you through the safety procedures. Each room holds about 6 people max. My first experience with Sandbox was the Squid Games. I went with 2 young kids. The gear was not super heavy but took a bit to get used to. 5 year old wore it fine. The visuals were really cool and the game itself was super fun. As a player, you can be eliminated (I came in thinking you couldn't). The first time the 5 yr old and I saw someone get eliminated, he quickly turned to me and said "I'm scared!". I did scream as I did not expect it to be so graphic and the vest you're wearing goes off. Once you're eliminated, you're character is see-through for about 20 seconds and then you come back. It was fun for the grown ups and the 9 year old, but it may have been too much for the 5 year old. There is an option where they can prevent a player from feeling/seeing the eliminations. This helped a bit. It's based on a point system so someone wins at the very end. Sandbox provides you with 3 trailer videos which is a fun recap. All of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Which prompted me to return with a friend of mine to try the shooting ones. We did the Deadwood Valley. Yea, after the first 5 minutes, I knew that game was not for me as I do not like zombies running towards me. My heart rate was about 103 by the time I left and I felt exhausted. My friend thought it was super fun as he likes shooting games. We were both covered in sweat after we left this game. The visuals for both were really great and they were both fun. I think I would definitely come back for the other ones and if new themes come out. Tip: If you park in Cumulus, there is a gate that leads to La Cienega Blvd right by the Whole Foods entrance. You can exit there and access Sandbox from the entrance on La Cienega. If you go to Sandbox through the VOX gate, you may not come back that way as that gate is locked.

We had such a great experience. This was actually my first VR experience. It was 4 of us and We all loved it. We played deadwood Phobia which was great choice it was fun and scary at the same time and also thank you Jordan for making it smooth experience for us. Appreciate you all!

My first VR experience and trying it at Sandbox. Located at La Cienega, the spacious venue featured multiple options of VR games from zombie-themed to the infamous Squid Game! Yeah, HOW FUN finally able to enjoy the experience being the player of the games. The total time you might take for overall experience was one-ish hour with preparation wearing the vest, helmet, and other gears, as well as listening to all the brief. Each game could accommodate up to 6 people in a group, but great news they could do multiple games simultaneously in different rooms. It felt so real that you could choose your avatar, looking at your friends in their avatars, and competed to win. It's basically individual score-based game and you needn't worry if you're eliminated in the game because you would just freeze for few seconds before being brought back alive. You could even experience virtual free-fall with 'Cross the Bridge' game. They did ask in the beginning if you're afraid of heights so they could prevent you from seeing that part. Some of the games were bit twisted from the original ones, but I would say all of them were amusing. Although I would say it's quite pricey to go regularly, being at $54, it's certainly worth trying and would be great option for team building activity. I would have rated it 5 if only my device didn't have glitch in the beginning and took almost 15-20 minutes to get it fixed. Would surely come back some day for their other games.

I would not recommend this location. Our attendant was unfriendly the entire time. When one players system completely crashed, we called for our attendant for over five minutes as instructed, but he never showed up. Another attendant eventually came to help us. Our game also kept glitching and resetting throughout the duration. For the price, we expected some basic customer service and a more seamless experience. There was another team where all members were shrieking so loudly the entire game. It was so loud that we could not hear our game through our headphones. The parking was easy and the game itself was pretty cool. I would try again at a different location.

This was a very fun and unique VR experience - we brought my 7 yr old daughter to play the SQUID GAMES , it was 30 mins total time - doesn't sound like much but it's the perfect amount of time to be playing - the space was very clean and the staff was super friendly & they have a fully stocked bar for adults which was a plus When you walk in they make you check in on these tables Insert you email where they will send you videos of you & your party playing which is super cool . Once you're done they walk you to your room where you'll watch a instruction video while they hook you up with a head set and a vest that vibrates and hand and ankle censers You'll choose your avatar then Once everyone's ready it's game on!!! ** they have individual snack pack you pre order on the website & a squad pack with carries more snack ** ( my daughter and husband love all the snacks ) We will definitely be back with a group of adults --- super fun for the whole family

Knocked off a star because we were left waiting for about a half hour even though I had made a reservation. The staff were amazing though, really kind and helpful overall. My husband chose the Star Trek game and I had a lot of fun (even though I'm not particularly a Star Trek fan like he is). We can't wait to come back and try some of the other games!

Visited for my birthday, this was my first immersive VR experience and i have to say it was amazing! Our host Vi was extremely helpful and we had an excellent time with the squid game experience. Also the slushies are delicious!!

Definitely fun! This was a great way to have some family bonding time. Only reason why I couldn't give it 5 stars is because the venue was too hot! Avery and Dez are great venue attendants. They both walked you through the process and made great recommendations for beginners. We will be returning.

We walked in on a quiet Monday and it pretty empty and got help straight away. Staff was helpful all around and we had a great time as it was our 1st ever VR experience. We both wished the headset didn't get blurry periodically throughout the session, but well worth the money. The actual experience is about 30 minutes but there's like 15 mins of suiting up and practice plus 10 minutes to recap the fun at the end along with highlight clips sent to your email. I would revisit

We had a mini birthday celebration at Sandbox VR today, and the experience was amazing! The entire staff was incredibly friendly - special shoutout to Brian, who did an awesome job explaining everything and keeping the energy high! The experience was so much fun that we ended playing two different games back-to-back! For feedback, we'd love to see the gaming catalog expanded with more fantasy or medieval-themed adventures. Also adding haptic feedback (like sensors or even slight resistance/weight) to melee weapons would make combat feel even more immersive. Right now, hitting enemies doesn't have that satisfying impact or bounce-back you'd expect from a real weapon. Still, 10/10 experience - we'll definitely be back!

We went for Father's Day yesterday. 6 of us. Tried the zombie game. First the pros: Looks like a brand new place. Guy that checked us in was friendly and helpful. Guy that managed our game also very nice. We were all very excited before all the problems. Now the cons: super glitchy. 2 of the 6 of us needed replacement guns. I chose the shot gun, it shot inconsistently which was incredibly annoying. The game had to be restarted multiple times and 4/6 of us got motion sick because of it. The guy helping us felt bad and said he'd take one charge off, which i thought was a nice gesture. When we left, the manager was super awkward. She kinda popped out of the back and said "can i answer questions?" I was like "yes, please confirm you'll credit $50 back to my card for all the issues " she said "sorry i can't do that, but i can give you 20% off your next visit" Bad customer service. Will need to fix glitches or they will be out of business soon. I won't go back even with 20% off which btw was never sent to me.

This was my first time doing VR. I wasn't sure what to expect and I didn't expect to feel like I got a full workout or to sweat as much as we did but it was worth it and so much fun and we will definitely be back. Ricky was great, his energy and passion were incredible. He was fully committed to his role, super animated (in a good way), and you could just tell that he genuinely loved what he was doing. The enthusiasm made it fun for us all. Titi was also great, really helpful and made sure everything was comfortable. The only improvement I would suggest is adding an option to have more than six players in at least one game. For those in leadership, this could be a fantastic team building experience, and having a game that accommodates larger groups would make it even better.

Amazing experience, took my seven-year-old and we had a blast. Highly recommend. The staff was incredibly friendly and made sure we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. There were so many activities tailored for kids, and my child couldn't stop smiling. We ended the day with a delicious meal at the on-site café, which was the perfect way to wrap up our adventure.

Let me start off and say going into the game we had technical difficulties, my players arms were glitched out I had told them about the issue and ignored my request and said if there's any other issues please let us know. So I was like okay fine maybe it's just a small issue no bigger we continue to play but the game kept lagging so bad, I was over it. Most of the time I was just standing around. My friend kept loosing tracking on her guns. The birthday celebration at the end was better than the game. I've been to the one in Burlingame CA and it was nothing like this experience. Never lagged never had no issues. If you want my opinion don't go to this one. Apparently there building doesn't get good connection.

It was my first time here and At first there was glitches also one of the guns wasn't working but then they restarted the game and everything went smooth , overall it was very exciting and fun we are going again tomorrow.

Came for my birthday today and it was the best VR experience ever. Bryan and Khaleea were absolutely amazing at proving me and my party the best experience. I even tried something form their bar and thought it tasted funny and Bryan had no issue swapping it out to make it right. I absolutely will be coming back for to do this again. Amazing experience! Madison was of great help and made the whole experience very friendly! We were 4 in our group, we did "Squid Game" and "Seekers of the Shard: Dragonfire", both were incredible experiences however both had major glitched, especially "Seekers...". I will come back at a later date to experience more things and maybe try Seekers again with a different character once the glitches are fixed :)

This place is really dope. The only negative is it's too expensive for a 30 minute experience. I don't believe the experience is worth $60 for 30 minutes. I understand why it's pricy.. equipment, overhead, lease for the building... but it's not worth going back often. It would be great if Sandbox had a game pass where you can play more than one game for $60.

Always a blast here, have been back twice to this location and two times to other locations. Always enjoy the experience - for your first time I recommend Deadwood Valley if you're into zombies. If you're going to do Seekers of the Shard, I recommend wearing something you can sweat in. Lastly Squid games is fun but less exciting than Deadwood or Seekers

Will definitely be coming back. The staff were very friendly and very helpful the whole time were there. Vi helped setup our gaming session and showed us our videos of us playing after. The gaming experience itself is exactly what I imagined vr gaming to be while we only played the squid games I would like to come back to try the other games.

I liked the games. Deadwood phobia is really good. You always have to look around. And it's really nice how you can run around. I went to this place with my cousin last week and it was super cool!

Highly recommend!!! Well worth the money for the extras they provide like the video of you playing. Staff was super helpful and Rickey's fun energy added to the experience. I did a zombie one but they also have family friendly games.

The staff was completely unprofessional and lacked customer service. The game quality was super low because the weapons and other functions weren't even working. The game itself was also super cheesy end unrealistic

All around fun time! Staff was great as well, Ricky and Avery, helped us make sure we made our dinner reservations when things ran later than expected! They were very kind and knowledgeable!

1st time around it was a bit janky and room 2 specifically but when we came back again it was great and everything went well especially since we did seekers of the shard to dead wood valley great story and mini guns were a bit extra but so worth it
