This was the location we were looking forward to the most (besides the Lofoten). We had booked apartment 25 months in advance. Even mentioned that this was a special trip, celebrating our 30th anniversary and milestone birthday. We were excited to wake up to those beautiful direct views, directly in front of the lake. However, a couple of days before we were to leave for our mid September trip, I reached out just to confirm everything was still good with our reservation (as i did with all my stays so there are no surprises upon arrival). We were informed that our reservation was still good, but due to "various reasons" we were switched to cabin 15, at "no additional cost".?. Don't get me wrong, cabin 15 was nice, but it wasn't what we booked and already PAID for, MONTHS in advance, just to ensure we had those direct facing views of beautiful Lake Lovatnet. So, that was disappointing and very unfortunate that a business would rebook something already reserved and paid for!! Cabin 15 has a sauna, although we had no idea how to use it. It has 2 bedrooms downstairs with 2 separate beds (one maybe a full size and 1 was a single) and another bedroom (maybe 2) upstairs - with a half bath. We didn't bring any toiletries (shampoo, body soap, etc), as it completely slipped my mind after previously staying in hotels. But they have some items for sale at the reception area. The owner generously offered to give us the shampoo/soap for free, but we declined and paid what we owed. There are no food services on the property. We asked about their restaurant area, and was told it was just the two of them, so it wasn't open. They do offer some snack items in the reception area, as well. So just come prepared. We had planned to drive to the end of the lake but instead we stayed at the property and rented a canoe and went out on the lake. It is just so beautiful!! So, although disappointed that our room was given to someone else, without apology, we still had beautiful views from cabin 15 -- which we felt fortunate that it was the alternative option given to us. We would still definitely recommend staying at this property if you're able to get one of the apartments or cabins with those spectacular views of the lake. But, just be aware that you may not get what you reserved, even if you had paid for it at the time of reservation!

Incredibly comfortable place in a great location. We slept in a tent and it was great to cook and wash in the shared facilities, which were really clean and functional. I will definitely come here again.

Stunning lakeside location but seriously overcrowded during peak season. The facilities simply can't handle the number of people they accept. Main facilities are at the hilltop requiring a long walk from lakeside pitches - very inconvenient for toilet trips. All showers use push-button timers that last only seconds. With so many people, you can expect some mess. Someone left toilet doors open overnight making the shower area freezing cold, and the kitchen became a complete mess. Arrived at 1 PM to find them "fully booked" (first time on our trip), but they offered us "spot number 0" next to pitch 1 - apparently on land they don't normally use due to potential landslide risk! 😂 Then they squeezed another tent right next to us anyway.

We spent one night there and it was really awesome, the camping is really nice and the owners are very friendly. We paid 475 NOK for a small 3-person cabin, it costed just 50NOK more than the place for tent. The facilities are well renovated and maintained, everything was there!

Incredibly nice and chill owners, the kitchen is more equipped than my house, insane view, if I could give 6 stars I would.

Ever since I stayed at Sande Camping Loen for the first time, more than a decade ago, not once have I been back to Norway without paying it a visit. It has, indeed, become my favourite place in the world and a sort of home away from home. The beauty of that view over the lake is simply indescribable, and the same goes for that sense of quietness all around. The hosts are the nicest people you'll meet and the facilities provided for camping, cabins and holiday flats will meet all and any expectations. It's definitely one of those places I'll always keep coming back to.
