Ever since I stayed at Sande Camping Loen for the first time, more than a decade ago, not once have I been back to Norway without paying it a visit. It has, indeed, become my favourite place in the world and a sort of home away from home. The beauty of that view over the lake is simply indescribable, and the same goes for that sense of quietness all around. The hosts are the nicest people you'll meet and the facilities provided for camping, cabins and holiday flats will meet all and any expectations. It's definitely one of those places I'll always keep coming back to.

Great placement with amazing views, helpful and very kind hosts. The cottage was a bit dirty and it was obvious that hygiene wasn’t top priority, but the standard in general was pretty good. Helpful staff!

This camping is the best I have been to, perfect for backpacker's. First of all we got a ton of value, it was almost to cheap to stay there compared to what the camping offers. The staff was super friendly, and they have equipment like a full kitchen and dining area free to use, good shower's free to use and washing machines for clothes, they have different activities around the place with fire pit pan's, table tennis and so on. They also have small cars for rent, to a very good price, they were so fun to drive around with. We had a tent down by the river, and they have fresh water taps close by. The road to the camp is narrow, so drive slow. Also the people in the area are super nice to tourists. Will recommend this camp, that's why I took these photos. Far above our expectations!

Camping located in a breathtaking location! Its like in a fairytale when you look on the mountains around with numerous waterfalls! After narrow road to the camp its your reward. Camping is good made by itself. Despite there was a rain the whole night and we were in tent, water went away with no issues for us. Campsite has a very good sanitary facility. You do not have to count showers, they are included. There is a professional washing machine and a dryer. Quite a comfortable kitchen with tables to sit as inside so also outside and enjoy a stunning view! Strong internet with a good signal and speed. Reception was responding quickly over email and people were polite and informative when we personally met them. There is also a playground for children. Beauty is all around you in this place! We have enjoyed staying in this place! And took good coffee and ice for our further road trip.

We wanted to eat something but cafe served only some specific group - a notice about that at the front door would have been nice. Also sauna wasn’t on as mentioned in the door. I asked about it and expected they would have turned it on. But still had to do it myself. Obviously customers keep on coming for the view so they don’t have to pay that much attention to it. I won’t bother returning either.

Clean bathrooms and good space for tent and cars. They have a small playground. The guy from the reception is exceptional very considerable. Had two lovely nights in one of the apartments/chalets that are part of the main roadside building but overlook the lake on the reverse side. Stunning view. The chalet is quite basic but very clean, good shower and beds and has all the amenities needed. The cafe above is lovely too. We particularly enjoyed our swim in the very safe lake. In nearby Loen we enjoyed the Skylift and mountain behind, but the main local gem is the lake on which the site sits. A drive to the far end of it leads to a short walk to below the Kjenndalsbreen glacier (with a lovely cafe just before it). A left turn along the same road takes you up another local toll road to the Huldrefossen waterfall. Here there is another walk to a branch of the glacier. You can’t get as high as the ice but they are lovely, easy to access walks. Very nice accommodation in a great site.
