My partner and I and two friends had Sunday roast in the restaurant. Although pricey, the flavours of everything were amazing : lots of attention to detail and obviously all freshly cooked. Three of us had the roast sirloin which we had the option of having rare or well done. We plumped for well done but with hindsight I wish I had had mine rare. My friend had the roasted aubergine of which she commented several times how tasty it was. We all had the cheesecake for dessert which came with a gorgeous, smooth sorbet.
Service was good, but not “in your face” and we couldn’t believe we had sat in the restaurant for three hours. The time flew by as we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the stunning view of the coastline.
Thank you to Anna for looking after us. I’m sure we will be back.

The star is for the view from the restaurant terrace, really 5 stars for it, it is lovely out there but the service brought it down. We waited 10 mins and were very thirsty so walked up to the bar to see if we could order some drinks. We were sent back and the waitress clearly took a dislike to us coming up to order. It was passive aggressive from then on with various comments meant to educate us on the order in which things were done - it was extremely windy and we went to return the menus before they blew away and were told they stayed in case we decided we wanted something more. Ingredients were missing from my main and I had to ask for them (apologetic and I wouldn’t complain if not the waitresses general attitudes). We waited 30 minutes for our food and another 20 after and we had to ask to order dessert. When we asked (a different waitress) how many scoops of ice cream you get (on the menu for £8) she replied how many do you want (the tone was not nice). It would have been good to be told what the £8 is for, would you just pay £8 regardless of how many scoops you have? We then noticed the other tables were given cloth napkins and we were given paper, we decided to leave without the dessert. It’s not acceptable to treat one table differently from the rest and the attitude throughout was really poor from 2 waitresses, a third was nice (I spoke with re missing main ingredients, it’s a shame she wasn’t looking after our table). Very disappointing (birthday!!) meal out.

Great afternoon tea. Tasty egg mayonnaise roll, smoked salmon and sausage roll. Beautiful light scones, cream, jam. Carrot cake, strawberry and lemon tart, coconut mini bun. All in a beautiful setting overlooking the beach. Staff lovely. Best red berry tea ever had was a very rich flavour, they said they hadn't added anything but was so rich but delicious.

An amazing stay. Great sized room done to a very high standard.
Staff were all friendly and attentive and best of all, very human!
It was my partners birthday and the hotel left some fizz and a welcome message in the room which was really appreciated.
Great breakfast in the morning, very well cooked (I'd recommend the mushrooms especially)
Strongly recommend and we will stay here next time we have a night in Margate.

Lovely venue, great views, nice staff but a terrible afternoon tea: three tiny sandwiches with hardly any filling which were not moist;
dry scone- neither of us finished them served with not enough cream too;two tiny cakes-which were a mouthful each and a piece of battenberg. It was paltry and not worth the money. We complained but in the nicest way as we wanted to enjoy my mums birthday present to us. So got nothing in return. Much nicer afternoon teas to be had elsewhere.

I visited recently for afternoon champagne tea, and the whole experience was excellent. We were fortunate enough for a sea view,
which was lovely, although the whole dining area was clean and nicely presented. The food and tea was very good quality, and staff friendliness and attentiveness was brilliant. I would definitely recommend an afternoon tea here and will be returning for more!

The Sands hotel in Margate for valentines weekend was a wonderful hotel to stay at in Kent. We started in the attic sea view with a balcony. Nina went above and beyond to help us get checked in and sorted the per booked parking where there wasn’t any space. She emailed the restaurant as we were late due to the issues with parking and the restaurant staff looked after us. The room was excellent the bathroom had a large bath and a shower as well as a good size balcony to look out at the sea. Food was fantastic even though there was a delay in getting served. ***** and deserted.

Came here for afternoon tea with the work girls just after Christmas. The savoury foods were delicious! The cakes sadly were not quite right, but we advised the waitress who took one away, tried it and confirmed she had spoken to the chef and agreed with us. We were given a discount on our bill which was perfect. Can not fault anything else. Lovely environment, friendly staff! A lovely afternoon. Thanks!
