Sandton Sun & Towers

I have stayed in this hotel for many years now, back to when it was Intercontinental. I do miss the service standards of the Intercon, something I feel has gone down since now being another chain but I still can’t complain about the service. The new refurb in the towers is great and the rooms look and feel fantastic. Comfortable beds, great showers and a million miles from the rooms at the adjoining Sun where I stayed when the towers were being refurbed. Thankfully a few TV stations now showing now as the internet is and always has been appalling so don’t expect to stream Netflix etc. Breakfast is varied. One morning there was the hot buffet and the next there wasn’t however decent and a good feed. Friendly and courteous service so no complaints there. Location is great for the Convention centre and a walk across to the mall and square. I find the bar in both hotels quite expensive when compared to local offerings. Double the price of a glass of wine when you could go and sit on the square and watch the world go by. Overall of course I will keep coming back as it is without doubt one of the better hotels in Sandton and make sure you stay at the towers and not the sun for the refurbed rooms.

I had the pleasure of staying at Sandton Towers while attending the G20 Youth Entrepreneurship Summit, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I checked in, the service was warm, professional, and attentive. Special thanks to Ishmael, Onka, and Lebo, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and memorable. Their friendliness and genuine care really stood out, and it made all the difference during a very busy week. I stayed on the club floor, which offered a premium experience throughout. The breakfast service was excellent—well-prepared, fresh, and served with such attention to detail. The staff in the dining area were unfailingly friendly and welcoming, setting a positive tone each morning. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and well-appointed, providing a perfect balance of comfort and functionality. After long days at the summit, it was wonderful to return to such a relaxing and quiet space. Overall, Sandton Towers exceeded my expectations in every way. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Johannesburg, whether for business or leisure. Thanks again to Ishmael, Onka, and Lebo for their outstanding service—you truly made my stay special!

However, the hotel's true, enduring asset is its incredible staff.|​From the moment I arrive, the experience is seamless. Emmanuel is always ready at the door to greet me and assist with my luggage, and Nada at reception makes checking in effortless. The level of service continues throughout—on the club floor and everywhere in between—with a seemingly endless list of smiling faces willing to assist: Onka, Lebo, Mandisa, Timothy, Hloni, and Lesedi.|​Furthermore, managers like Gugu and Busi ensure my weekly visits are special by anticipating my arrival and needs.|​While I know I've missed many others, this massive hotel has clearly mastered the art of making every guest feel like the only one, even when fully booked. I highly recommend it for that truly seamless and personalized experience.

The most outstanding customer services especially the managers specifically Desmond and Bruce. Every member of staff is unique and incredible in their own way, Mavis from House Keeping, Mandisa from the restaurant. I can’t mention everyone but everyone was incredible . I’m a regular customer but I can honestly say that it feels being home when I’m at Sandton Sun .

Horrible experience in Sandton Sun hotel. Rooms are tiny & run down with air conditioners not working, shower leaking & lights not working properly in the room. We had asked the hotel to move us to a better room & they denied it. It’s almost midnight & we have a young child & not able to sleep. We have an early morning flight tomorrow. It’s a disastrous experience that we had here. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I would highly recommend this hotel. I was there for a conference which was at Sandton itself. The fact you can go from the hotel into the mall and into the conference makes it very safe and convenient. The rooms were very nice (corner deluxe) and the staff were amazing (shout out to Dineo and to kholo at front desk!!!!!). ||I would definitely stay here again!!!!!!

Top Tier restaurant. Had a lovely host welcome us and she did her best to not keep us waiting too long. Our waiter, wish I remembered his name but he worked there 9 years and the level of experience he had was impeccable.
