One of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Perfectly cooked bread, fresh and local ingredients, and an extensive menu. Don't be afraid to ask for suggestions. It gets busy during lunch and there is only a walk up window, but still a much better experience than some of the tourist traps around town with lines down the block.

Google
Surprisingly a much better sandwich than I thought. After trying many of them, I think this is the most balanced sandwich in term of flavor profiles (maybe because I’m Asian). I don’t like too salty so I think SandwiChic hit a spot. The team are super nice. I came at 11am with no lines but apparently if you come later, there will be a bit of a line. Value for money, I’m in.

Google
The most incredible sandwich I’ve ever tasted. We got the salami and cheese sandwich with onion cream? It was amazing. The owner is very friendly and helpful and we received the sandwich promptly. It’s well priced and you can tell the ingredients used are of a high quality.

Google
Bought 2 sandwiches to take away. There’s no seats and no queue then, however the waiting was still around 15 minutes! The sandwiches was good! Perfectly for train ride

Google
Simply, a great place for having a great bite and nicely prepared fresh sandwich, many of them as much as your imagination can drive your taste. This shop offers numerous selections and am sure one or more will meet your satisfaction and comply with your liking. I like to thank the attendant person who’s taking care of the customers’ selection and to the person behind the counter who is making those great sandwiches ready to enjoy. As it appears, it’s a relatively small shop but great in capability and offering large selections. A big advantage is the reasonable waiting or queue (sometimes none, if coming early). Our thanks to the team and the owner. Keep up the good sandwiching business.

Google
Great sandwiches. I prefer The truffle cheese ham. The owner suggest pecorino which i did not find it to be nice based on my asian palate

Google
the whole experience was perfect!!!!!! the server is extremely nice and welcoming, with great recommendations and very understanding demeanor for tourists (who might not know too well about Italian cuisine!) the sandwich is really good too, we got the 1st selection on the displayed menu (with the cheese made only in florence) and something with truffle cream, ham, and sun-dried tomato!! both are good but i recommend the first one, it is a best seller for a reason!! all in all, definitely 1 of my most memorable experience in Italy and will come back if possible 🤍

Google
It really is worth the hype. One of the more memorable focaccias of our entire trip. The man there was so patient and explained every ingredient to us which we really appreciated. My favorite was the pear and local salami sandwich!

Yelp
One of my favorite sandwiches I've had in Florence. We got the salami and prosciutto sandwich on focaccia bread. Both were SOOO GOOD. My favorite was the prosciutto sandwich. The ingredients inside of the sandwich were so fresh and flavorful. The bread was crunchy and warm inside. It was perfectly toasty. I still think of this sandwich as I write this review. I miss it to much.

Yelp
Oh my gosh, my sandwich from here was heavenly. Super simple- I just got prosciutto, mozzarella, and tomato- but everything was so fresh and flavorful. The bread had such a soft and buttery consistency that I feel like you don't always get with paninis. The worker obviously knew I was a tourist but still conversed with me in Italian, which I always appreciate. I went at noon on a Thursday in December and was the only one there. I guess I got lucky by going off season! Even if there is a wait for you- I say it's worth trying anyway!
google avatar

Nora J.

Yelp
Easily the best panini I had when visiting Italy. It was simple yet executed so well. I loved their fluffy bread and enjoyed their truffle spread I got on my panini. Most people get their paninis to-go since there's very limited seating. They're well wrapped to be eating on the go! For such a small space, it's well decorated. Depending on what season and time you go, be prepared to wait. I went in the middle of the summer (aka tourist season) around 3pm (15:00) and still had to wait an around 30-45 minutes. It was understandable since there were only two people working and not sure if I'd stand in line for this long again. You have to try them at least once!

Yelp
Literally my favorite sandwich shop in Firenze. I heard amazing reviews about SandwiChic through TikTok, and I had to give it a try. There are so many different options for sandwiches, with a variety of meats, cheeses, and spreads, and the first time that I went, I was definitely struggling to choose a sandwich, but the employees were so helpful in explaining their menu to me. There is also a student discount option, which allows you to get a sandwich and a drink at a discounted price, but a disclaimer is that not all sandwiches qualify for that discount. The restaurant also doesn't have any seating (at least when I went), so be prepared to take your sandwich to-go!

Yelp
One of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Staff is so nice and friendly. They offer student meals and discounts. For my first time, the owner had given me recommendations I had to try, and it did not disappoint. This place is usually fairly busy with limited seating-- a little on the smaller side so I would take it to-go. Very solid sandwich that I thoroughly enjoyed. From the conversations I've heard, it's a Florence favorite for sure! I went back for a second time within two days because it was so good.

Yelp
Came here on our last day in Florence and we didn't realize how close it was to our hotel! We walk up to the window and the gentleman was super helpful with giving us suggestions of what to order. We both ordered sandwiches with schiacciata bread and it was delicious! We waited across the street and then out names were called to pick up our order. There wasn't any seating available which was fine and we ended u p just eating across the street where we were waiting. I still think about this sandwich and how good it was!
google avatar

Sumi S.

Yelp
Wish I could have their sandwiches everyday. This is a gem of a place!! Best sandwich I had all trip. Found myself here after exploring a bit outside of Mercato Centrale. There were only a few people in line and the wait went quickly. Their bread is so perfect. Crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. The menu is all Italian but you can more or less guess what is inside. The employees are nice and can help decide what to order. Limited seating inside so it's mostly for take out.

Yelp
Mija did a day trip to Florence during her study abroad program, and raved about this sandwich shop. So when we stayed in Florence on the latter part of the trip, we had to hit this place. I had two sandwiches: One salumi & one prosciutto. The first thing I noticed was the bread was very special. I did some research and found that schiacciata bread is made w/o salt. Back in the day, Tuscany did not want to pay the high taxes on salt, so they made their bread w/o salt. Apparently the yeast proofs more effectively, leading to a fluffy interior & chewy exterior. All I know is that combined w/ high quality meat, it makes awesome sandwiches. I was stuffed on €10 of meat only sandwiches, vs here in the States you would have a lot of produce on your $10 sandwich. Regarding the ambiance, its take away only. This is Italian grab and go food. The sandwiches are numbered so you can order quickly, and they are made fast. We found a shady square nearby, and enjoyed our sandwiches while people watching. When you are in Florence, do yourself a favor and stop by Sandwichic. You will really see why Tuscans rave about their schiacciata bread.

Matt L.

Yelp
I have to issue an update. It is open! Stopped by on a Monday and they were open. My daughter and I both had the traditional sandwich and they were amazing! Definitely worth finding this little walk up window of a place.
google avatar

Bruce M.

Yelp
I think it's a lot about the experience. We wanted to love this place based on all the great reviews, but the bread itself was a little too blah and the bread to Meat/Cheese ratio was way off. They were good paninis sandwiches, but not the best l've had in the city. Perhaps we just chose the wrong combo, but there are much better sandwiches in Florence that you don't have to wait 30-50 minutes for. The staff there are very cool and helpful in explaining things and helping you make a selection. Have a beer while you wait, it will help with the experience. Everyone has a different taste in sandwiches and this one didn't do it for us.
google avatar

Niko C.

Yelp
This place in my opinion is not worth the hype. The sandwiches were tasty, but it wasn't worth the long lines and slow service. It was a cute place, but I think there are potentially better sandwich places in Florence.
google avatar

Tori E.

Yelp
I had the best sandwich I've ever had in my life here. This cute little hole in the wall would make a fortune in the states! I enjoyed every bite and would be willing to go back every day just to try something new. The schiacciata bread is seriously the best bread I've ever put in my mouth and they serve it warm and fresh, so it is crisp on the top and soft inside. I really, really, really wish I knew "pomodoro" meant "tomatoes" so I could order something with their sun dried tomatoes, but I did not know that beforehand. My husband (who doesn't even like tomatoes or sun dried tomatoes back home in the states) even liked the sun dried tomatoes! The meats are amazing! Every single one. You cannot go wrong with choosing whatever! My sandwich had prosciutto crisp with mozzarella and some kind of white spread! Yum! It was a small space and there was a line out the door to get in, so try to get there early! There isn't a lot of space for dining, but there are a few chairs on the street in front, if you want to grab those. The guy at the register was very nice and pretty fluent in English. This is definitely a nice spot for the college kids!

Emily S.

Yelp
one of the best sandwiches in florence! the bread was soft not so cripsy. good flavor and great employees
google avatar

Yelp
Really amazing, and we both feel like this needs to be a staple of our trips now. This trip, we got the mortadella/taleggio/tartufo cream/sun dried tomatoes, as well as the sbriciolona/pecorino/pepperoni cream/sun dried tomatoes. Both were incredible, and I'd have a hard time picking one over the other, but my wife would absolutely have picked the sbriciolona and actually wanted to get it again, but we had all of our other meals booked already. I'd also love to try even more of the menu next time around.

Roma P.

Yelp
Found this place by random walking around on a trip to Italy. And until this day, my friends and I still talk about how delicious the sandwich was we all got various items, but not a single one of us said we dislike to our sandwich. I don't know what it is if it's the bread, the meat or just how they put it all together, everything was delicious. Definitely not a spot you go in for like a big group to sit down it's like a grab and go. There was a bit of a line, which I always means it's a good place, but they gave us time to come up with options and he worked in our favor. We ordered an English and that wasn't an issue.
google avatar

Allen F.

Yelp
Man oh man, these panini are the real thing. Enormous selection of sandwiches on the chalkboard outside. You order at a window and wait until the sandwiches are ready. I had the flatbread with mortadella, a creamy cheese, a pistachio cream, and I don't remember what else but boy, was it good! I was staying at an Airbnb on the same street, so I picked up sandwiches several times that week. You get a huge sandwich for about seven euros. It's worth going out of your way to find this sandwich shop.

Keelan O.

Yelp
Dare I say best sandwich in Florence. Great sodas, great prices, great service. They even have a discounted student menu. Sandwiches are warmed so the cheese is nice and melted. Wonderful place will come back every time.

Betty E.

Yelp
Love this place! My husband and I visit every time we're in Florence. Andrea is super cool and always gives us great recommendations on what to try.
google avatar

Maggie H.

Yelp
I came in and asked for the most popular sandwich. The sandwich also had sun dried tomatoes and a jam spread. So many wonderful flavors in every bite. The way they put the sandwich together changed my life.
google avatar

Evan W.

Yelp
Absolute must try while in Florence! We were desperate for a panino after going to the market. If you aren't looking closely for Sandwichic, you may walk right past it. In a city that has panino shops all over, Sandwichic stands alone. Many other shops you will stand in line forever just to be treated poorly once you're inside and rushed out. There is a level of care that goes into making your sandwich as well as making sure that you choose the correct sandwich. Flavors and textures were spot on and 100% authentic. Bread was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and I got mine slathered with onion jam! Don't leave Florence without going to Sandwichic.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Great sandwiches for cheap. Huge variety of toppings, although I've always gotten the same ones. Student deals (€6 or 7 euro for a sandwich, water, and soda, depending on the type of soda) are among the best in the city. Very quickly becoming my everyday lunch place.

Morgan B.

Yelp
LOVE this sandwich place in Florence. Been twice now and the main guy is the nicest ever. He'll point you in the right direction! The first time I went, I got spicy salami, sweet onion jam ( a must), and gorgonzola. Great flavors together. Yesterday, I got prosciutto, creamy cheese, truffle sauce and mushrooms. Great sandwiches! I only wish they weren't as thin
google avatar

Sierra S.

Yelp
No doubt, the best sandwich I've had in my life. It was so good I came back the next day. Everyone who works here is so nice and they gave great recommendations. The sandwiches are about 5-6€. The bread is incredible, crispy on the outside from being toasted and fluffy on the inside. Even when there's a line, it goes quickly. You have to come here and try the prosciutto truffle sandwich.
google avatar

Brad S.

Yelp
Wow... what a sandwich! Wifey and I found our spot today. A little shoebox but BIG shoes. Sandwiches superb, service excellent. We will see you tomorrow!
google avatar

Katherine M.

Yelp
Walked here from our hotel, The Artists Palace (don't get me started), it's very tiny but very cute. When you walk in, the menu is huge and all in Italian. It's a bit confusing and slightly crowed during lunch time. The people were pretty nice a little reserved. We got a ham and mozzarella sandwich. The bread was absolutely awesome, very crunchy. Would recommend to anyone who wants to be ingrained in the culture!
google avatar

Lisa G.

Yelp
Can we bring you home with us?! Exactly what a sandwich should be. Fresh ingredients + fluffy focaccia bread! And they were huge. Loved running into this little spot right before our tour to see David. Left nice and full + had a local beer to top it off. Hoping to make a trip back before we leave!
google avatar

Jason W.

Yelp
Great place. Their mushroom truffle prosciutto sandwich is a must try. Staff is very friendly
google avatar

Alice W.

Yelp
This is one of the BEST sandwiches I've ever had. I got this recommendation from a friend who said this sandwich spot was really good. The price is very reasonable, everything is like 5 EUR. The sandwich I got was a salami sandwich. The bread is a perfect fluffy focaccia with some herbs and seasoning. The salami was very flavorful. The colors of the sandwich was also beautiful. I got this sandwich and sat outside a square nearby to eat. It was such an enjoyable sandwich. Can't pass by this spot!
google avatar

Megan G.

Yelp
This place had good sandwiches and the guys making them were wonderful- friendly and very patient with all of us tourists. The popularity means you will likely wait a LONG time. I waited between 45-60 min total, and while it was a yummy sandwich, I'm not sure it was a "worth waiting in line for 45 min" sandwich. There's a bakery next door that has good sandwiches too (and no line!).
google avatar

A K.

Yelp
The owners are so nice plus their sandwiches are the highest quality you can get. Skip the touristy spots and come here you will not regret it.

Jessica L.

Yelp
this place is amazing!! I've been to florence before and really wasn't impressed by all antico. This place on the other hand exceeded all expectations! Everything from the bread to the meat to the spread to the cheese was incredible. I highly recommend coming here. It's so much better than all antico. the pictures I took don't do these sandwiches justice but they are truly incredible!
google avatar

Emma L.

Yelp
If you've been to All'antico Vinaio, then you've had a great sandwich. But this place, although lesser-known, has a better (or at the very least -- equivalently good) sandwich. In my opinion, it's attributed to the fact that they use better bread - it's softer than that of All'antico Vinaio's but still crunchy and warm. Ask for a recommendation on which sandwich to get - the menu is pretty massive. Try to get one with truffle cream, you won't be disappointed. There's also a rather long list of vegetarian sandwiches too. Shop itself is really, really small. There's a few stools, barrels to sit on, and a counter, but expect to take the sandwich to go.
google avatar

Riley M.

Yelp
The sandwiches were perfecto! Everything was so fresh and the bread was wonderfully toasted! The menu was a little overwhelming and all in Italian but that makes sense considering..I recommend if you don't read Italian to know what you want before going. They also had a good drink selection. Would visit again 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about Sandwichic! Hands down, this place definitely makes the best panino I have ever had in my whole life. I studied abroad in Florence for 1 semester, and this place became a weekly tradition to visit for me and two of my friends. We loved it so much after our first visit, that we didn't even want to go to another panini shop in Florence, because we were afraid that it just couldn't compare to the deliciousness at Sandwichic. Everything about this place define what you would imagine a traditional Italian panini cafe. First off, the employees here are so kind and make a point to remember you when are visiting so frequently, as was our case! Andrea and Marco were the two employees that we saw each time that we visited; and I have to say that they make such a great team! Second of all, you cannot beat the prices here! If you are a student, you can get a panino and a water bottle for only 3.5 Euros! (Being back in NY makes me cringe when I see that the average price for a sandwich here is at least $10). Third of all, they have an endless number of options here, including plenty of sandwiches for vegetarians as well. The hardest part about coming here is trying to decide which one to get, because they all seem so appetizing. Fourth, the quaint ambience created by the small counter top seating, antique decorations, and relaxing jazz music help make it such an inviting place to come to! Last but not least, the crisp, freshly baked bread paired with the fresh vegetables, cheeses and meats that they use, are just unbelievable! Once you try this place, you will just not be able to get enough of it!
google avatar

Alexa L.

Yelp
Best panini shop we visited in Florence! Sandwichic is close to Galleria dell'Academia (statue of David) so we ate there after visiting the famous work. The shop is cozy and not at all as crazy and bustling as All' Antico Vinaio on Via de Neri. The employees were kind and helpful to explain the menu, and you can easily tell they are passionate about the shop and its ingredients. I chose one with the made-in-house truffle paste and OHMYGOD it was the best truffle paste I had in Italy, bar none. We loved both our paninis so much we came back right before leaving Florence. I highly recommend SandwiChic. Florentine paninis were a highlight of my trip and that's very much thanks to the great people at this shop right here.
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
Admittedly, I was a little wary of the name. I had originally wanted to go to the more famous sandwich shop in town but it would require a lot of backtracking and we had an Accademia time slot counting down, so I picked this spot. It ended up being a great place! The menu can look a little overwhelming with small handwritten chalk print and since I didn't feel like any more cured meats (it was the tail end of our trip), I ordered a vegetarian sandwich for us to share. It was a simple mozzarella, tomato, and house sauce between excellent focaccia that was both crispy and soft. Yum! Limited seating but we managed to find spots in the back. The guys working there are nice and will speak some English to you if you're struggling.
google avatar

Katie H.

Yelp
We ate here in the summer of 2018 and had a decent but ultimately unmemorable lunch. The paninis were fine, but not the best I've had in the city. Perhaps I just chose the wrong combo, but my panino with prosciutto cotto and artichoke spread ended up being bland. My husband's sandwich was much better--prosciutto, cheese, and truffle spread is a winning combination, but even he had forgotten about it hours later. In contrast, there's a sandwich I ate at Duecento Gradi in the Vatican City 10 years ago that I still think about to this day. I was hoping to get a similar experience here, but it was just okay for me. They would benefit from better organizing their menu. It is a huge list of panini to decipher while standing in their tiny restaurant during the lunch rush. The guys behind the counter were friendly but didn't give us much guidance. Not their fault, as it was busy and we weren't the only customers. I'd suggest they scale down the menu or make it a little more intuitive. The inside is very cute but tiny and there's not much seating. Wine is in a giant barrel and dispensed in little cups, which we thought was a nifty idea. Overall, it's a cheap tasty lunch, but with so many great options in this city, I wouldn't return.

Demetra P.

Yelp
Perhaps the best panini I have had in Florence. The focaccia was the highlight for sure- light but super tasty and yummy. Cute vibes and service was great. They have student pricing too!
google avatar

Savana R.

Yelp
Not a lot of seating in the area but you will still find this place packed and college kids sitting just outside in the street because these sandwiches are just that good! Staff is so friendly & inviting. I had what they recommended that included the crema di Pepperoni. It was astounding! Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Matt O.

Yelp
Sanwich Chic is a perfect sandwich shop to pop in and grab a bite on the go. The meats are all made from Florence and the quality is top of the line. I had the ham, cheese, sun dried tomato and it was to die for. We grabbed some sandwiches for the train ride and the staff was so accommodating. Just let them know what kind of meats you like and they will give you a suggestion.
google avatar

Kimberly P.

Yelp
Sandwiches that dropped down from the heavens and put together by two of the greatest guys in Firenze! I wanted to try every sandwich on the menu. You know every thing out together is of the highest quality - the spreads, the meats that are sliced as you order, and the breads. I'm actually salivating as I'm recalling my wondrous memories in the cozy shop of SandwiChic. Of all the sandwich spots in Firenze, this is the must go!
google avatar

Sydney A.

Yelp
Sandwichic is such a classic and authentic Italian sandwich place. It's so small and cute and always smells so insanely good. They have very well priced and her generously sized sandwiches with great fillings and flavors!

Jarod B.

Yelp
Sandwiches were amazing. One of their strengths is also one of their weaknesses, according to our 11 yo son. Great customer service. They will take their time to explain the entire menu and are in no rush. The downside is the line moves excruciatingly slow. We showed up with 10-12 people in line and it took over 45 minutes to get food. But it was so good I'm still debating going back next week to try the spicy salami they were out of today. So if you're patient and don't mind lines that move 1-2 feet every 5 minutes then I highly recommend! Also very small place and a tight squeeze to even get out past the line coming in. Maybe 2 or 3 stools so it's a to-go place.
google avatar

Savannah S.

Yelp
Sandwichic has the best sandwiches I've ever had. A few years ago when I studied abroad in Florence I came here a few times a week - having lived down the block. I absolutely LOVED the sandwiches and the service - Andrea and Marco are absolute gems. When I just came back to Florence a week ago, I was excited but a little worried to return to Sandwichic. The place held such a special spot in my heart - but I was worried coming back it might have changed, and not be as good. Or maybe being in college anything under 5 euros seemed good to me? I had NO reason to be worried. The sandwiches were just as incredible and tasted the same! The staff was even the same. The only difference was it was busier (as it should be!) The staff I had remembered, even remembered me when I walked it. They are beyond friendly - and even though the menu is in italian, they are happy to help explain (when I studied abroad they helped me practice ordering). My favorites are basically anything with the local salami. Their spreads are amazing - I bought a few to bring home. I almost did not want to write a review because I don't want to give anyway this gem. Best sandwich in Florence, in Italy and probably the world. If you are in Italy make a point to go!!

E K.

Yelp
Great spot for a grab-and-go sandwich. High-quality ingredients and the prices are very reasonable as well. The restaurant is small with limited seating so don't expect to get a table, but if you're looking for a to-go option, you'll be very pleased. Also, the staff is friendly and helpful, and it's clear that they are serious about creating a quality product and experience for customers. True sandwich artistry!
google avatar

Kelsey B.

Yelp
High-energy atmosphere with excellent sandwiches! I highly recommend coming here to get a sandwich to-go (not much room to sit).

Christian P.

Yelp
Long wait well worth it just tell the guy at the counter what you like and trust what he tells you yo get.
google avatar

Nicholas M.

Yelp
For a delicious & authentic taste of Italian cuisine, this is the place to be! Tourists beware - these sandies are made Italian style, multiple options with truffles and unique spreads. Crunchy bread makes for a delicious lunch - yum! :)

Alex D.

Yelp
Best panino I had in Florence. Everything is super fresh and the guys behind the counter are great for asking about recommendations and the ingredients. Good cheap wine out of the cask into plastic cups too. We came off peak hours and there was no line, but have heard there can be a long wait.
