The price point for this one-bedroom space was perfect. It's not elaborate but it met all of our needs...2 queen beds, a bed in the wall, and a kitchen. The kitchen is very small but definitely worked for us. We only ate breakfast in the room (eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc). This was an oceanfront room so it was a perfect view. The beach is just off the swimming pool deck area so little walking to your spot, which is perfect for families with a lot of supplies. The pools were clean, and there were multiple so that it was not crazy busy.

Stayed here on recent visit. Everything matched what is shown in pictures. Beautiful view of the beach. Check in was great but the room needed some work. Most of the outlets wasn’t working or had one plug working some of the was worn out and couldn’t plug anything in. Front desk wasn’t any help few times trying to get toilet paper and some towel/washcloths for room. One time I stopped by the desk to ask for some toilet paper and towels and washcloths after running out. They said they would send someone up, never happened. Next time i called from the room and asked if the same thing and the same response was we’ll bring some up, never happened. Finally the third time was a charm at-least for toilet paper getting some from the front desk. Housekeeping later on the third day did come and did a fantastic job cleaning and getting us fresh linen and etc.

Stayed here with family from May 18-22, 2025. We were in a three bedroom unit with stunning oceanfront views. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Pool area was very clean and spacious with a heated indoor pool and two outdoor pools. Hotel desk staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and the housekeeping staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had what we needed. It is well within walking distance of Family Kingdom and the Boardwalk area with plenty of eats nearby. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Myrtle Beach!

We spent 5 days and 4 nights May 2025. The room was clean with nicely upgraded furniture. The beds were comfortable with lots of pillows and blankets. April guided us to the room and was great to work with. E we will definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great vacation.

This hotel was awesome! This was me and my family's first time to Myrtle Beach. We stayed in a 1bd room deluxe. I really liked that it had a full kitchen. Even had a dish washer and a washer and dryer. The view was amazing!! I was surprised how comfy the beds were, even the Murphy bed was really comfortable. The hotel was in the perfect location. Super close to everything. There was a great little store across the street with everything you could need for your stay. I will without a doubt be back!! Loved my stay!!

Google
We really enjoyed our stay at Sandy Beach resort. We got a 3 bedroom suite which was very clean and had a beautiful view. The pools and beach were easily accessible. We were walking distance from many restaurants and the amusement park. There were 3 pools, a lazy river, kids pool, and a few hot tubs. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is because I found a dead cockroach in the lazy river and when I alerted the lobby staff they never ended up sending people to clean up the bug. My dad ended up doing it.

Google
I’m hoping our time at this hotel is good, but have low hopes. Called to inquire on the deposit refund policy since there is a hurricane on the way tomorrow when we will be arriving. Not only was I rudely told no they don’t refund for weather, I was hung up on. Not looking forward to staying here now. I will update this after our stay. Wish us luck.

We have stayed here many times with no issues until this last trip. Our room had water damage so bad that the bathroom and bedroom doors wouldn't shut, and nothing in the bedroom worked off of the light switch. Also the rooms below and next to us were smoking weed all day to the point we couldn't sit outside. Other than that, the employees were very nice and the pools were kept clean.

Barrie P.

Yelp
We rented a condo through Airbnb. The resort itself was clean and quiet. They offer several amenities like indoor swimming and coffee each morning. If you can get an ocean side condo, the view is beautiful. It was also walking distance to the boardwalk and some attractions. The parking is a little annoying being across the street. For the off-season this was the perfect place to stay, but I would not stay here in the summer.

Anthony T.

Yelp
This place is rough. The rooms are dirty and run down, in major need of an overhaul, even in the palmetto tower. The room had piles of dust on the back of doors and the bathroom had wads of hair in it. Damaged walls, furniture etc. If you don't wake up early, don't expect to get your room serviced through your entire stay. They only try once (before 9am) and then never again. Hotel and elevators often stink of weed. Parking was nice. A big lot across the street.

Tammy M.

Yelp
Just had a great stay at Sandy Beach. Our room was big. We had a great view. Ample beach chairs by the pool.Staff was nice.Downfall was parking. It's across the street and it's tough to get a parking spot.It was extremely crowded and dark.

Antoinette E.

Yelp
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. There was easy access to the beach and centrally located to a number of attractions, including right across the street from the Family Kingdom, which made finding activities for the kids extremely simple when we didn't feel like driving. Didn't seem like the most secure location with access to the elevators accessible outside, as well as access to the pools areas. Housekeeping also wasn't as simple as some other resorts as often times I had to call for additional towels, and it did take a while. The accommodations were large and our suite was able to accommodate 3 children and 4 adults with the 3 bedroom.

Gabby R.

Yelp
The Sandy Beach Resort has a beautiful view of the ocean, if staying in an ocean front room. The entire resort could use an upgrade to really wow its guests. Many things like the pool, rooms, doors, elevators and more seemed to be falling apart. The walls are very thing, could hear people snoring in the room next door and the other neighbors were quite loud above and to the sides. There are items in the kitchen to prepare food, but VERY limited. Towels are provided for pool area, very small. I thought they could doubled as beach towels too as we are from out of town and towels are a pain to pack...went to Walmart to buy towels instead. Elevators take forever to pick you up whether you're going up or down, quite frustrating. Maybe consider another resort until this one gets the facelift it needs.

Belinda G.

Yelp
Our stay was less than average. We will return to our normal place we like to stay when we go to the beach. The room could've been cleaner. There were old earplugs and crumbs under the couch. Towards the end of the stay we started to see silver fish in the room. There was a good amount of channels, free coffee offered in the morning. The didn't have certain items like flat pans or paper towels, and no oven mits. Front desk staff was good, the beach itself in that location had A LOT of sea shells. I was just not use to that at the other location we like to stay but I was told it's like that every year here. So we literally had to walk on sea shells to get to the ocean. Quite painful. We visited during bike week so I won't judge them on the parking. The beach was easy to access. I would recommend if the shells don't bother you but I have small kids so it was an obstacle for us.

Karen B.

Yelp
While this hotel has amazing ocean views... I must only give 2 stars because the saga in the room was horribly uncomfortable, the TV in the living room area was smaller than the TV in the bedroom and the key cards to the room kept deactivating or you had to insert them multiple times before they would open the door. Also, the last night we were there the lock on the patio door broke.

Amber C.

Yelp
The facilities could be great if housekeeping and maintenance actually took pride in their work. I am mad I didn't think to take photos. I am a professional cleaner for residential and commercial properties and immediately had to deep clean the room before anything else. I would have left if I could. Hair in the tub. Dirt and food everywhere. The whole room was disgusting. The furniture is badly stained. Like housekeeping came in after a guest only to make the beds, fold the towels and leave. Not to mention check out is at 11am so be prepared for them to start bugging you to leave multiple times starting at 9am. Please DO NOT stay at this resort. They have the nerve to charge what they do given the condition of the rooms. They could at least have continental breakfast for guests to somewhat make up for the price.

Charles I.

Yelp
Amazing view. Clean room. And helpful staff Right on the beach. Lobby is on 2nd floor Lots of chairs by the pools. Elevator is always there

Karen L.

Yelp
New plank flooring in the Palmetto condo building! We visit here a couple of times a year and stay on the Palmetto side. They are taking out the carpet and putting in vital plank flooring. The view from the room is why we keep coming back, in addition to the amenities. The staff here is wonderful and safety is a priority. We were here during Hurricane Ian and the staff was excellent. The Sandy beach Resort pool deck was hit hard and the pool deck devastated when the sea waters rushed under the building! They sprang into action making sure all the guests were safe and risk was minimal. The staff was courteous and helpful under pressure. They were cleaning up as soon as Ian came through. The pools and spas were full of sand. They will have the pools back in working order quickly judging from their Hurricane response. This is a good, safe place to stay. Kudos to the staff!

LJ W.

Yelp
We had an amazing time here. This place is located in a great area with plenty of entertainment and food options within minutes away. There is even an amusement park right across the street. The parking situation is the only thing that is a bit frustrating, due to the great prices the lot is always packed so you usually have to take a nice walk to get to the condos. The condo we rented was awesome, very clean, and spacious. The staff was friendly and funny. Unfortunately, on this trip we didn't go swimming because it was a little bit too cool outside. But we will definitely be back and we will stay here again if possible.

Brooke Y.

Yelp
I have stayed at this hotel the last few times I have visited Myrtle Beach and I have liked it. The rooms are clean as is the pool area and the hallways. There is a great view from the oceanfront rooms. There is a store right across the street in case you need food or other items. The Wicked Tuna restaurant is within walking distance also. The only thing I don't like is that you cannot choose the specific floor you want to be on like you can at some other places. This visit we ended up on the second floor and because the room was right above the pool it was very loud and the palm trees partially blocked the view of the ocean.

Jen M.

Yelp
No different than a 2 star hotel. I stayed in a penthouse unit for a week. The unit was functional, but ZERO luxury. I would NOT stay here again. Unit and resort facilities were outdated and neglected. In the unit I rented, the ceiling, doors, furniture, toilet, and whirlpool tub were in need of repair. Roaches were crawling everywhere around the pool area. I found a bug in the bed the fur. Security was a big concern. Anyone could access the resort's elevators, pools, and hot tubs since they lacked card swipers and the pool gates were never locked. Linens provided were incredibly cheap. Air quality and circulation in unit is poor. The air return vent cover had a thick coat of dust. The oven had no digital display and the knobs had no markings so we could not determine temperature settings. Coffee pot was very old and rusty with questionable cleanliness. The only pros were convenience of a whirlpool tub and washer-dryer in unit. Given this was an oceanfront resort penthouse, I expected much better maintenance upkeep, more modern decor, and improved security.

Whitney F.

Yelp
Don't stay here. Yuck. The place looks filthy. I cleaned and it didn't get much better. They never dust. I wouldn't even touch the pull-down bed. The oceanfront view was nice. Small balcony. The lobby is on the 2nd floor which makes it rather difficult to park for 15 minutes, run up to the lobby and come back down especially if you have a larger SUV. It's just not convenient. Parking was across the street and even went up the street. The air vents and spaces for filters look like they had never been touched. The same goes for the dust ruffles and lower bedding. They have a lot of indoor water parks but it was cold when we went. Speaking of cold, our room was cold but they did come and adjust the heat very quickly. It did warm up just a bit. Good luck.

Norman M.

Yelp
large parking lot friendly front desk no complaints. The room has a washer and dryer and kitchen .

Bjorn M.

Yelp
Stayed here this past weekend with my family. They desperately need to remodel all of the rooms. The room was old and dirty. When we arrived to the room housekeeping was still in the process of cleaning the room so we had to wait. The phone in the room was broke. The pull out bed had a huge stain on it. My mom called and asked if we could be moved to a nicer room which they accommodated the next day.

Mark H.

Yelp
They locked the bathrooms around the pool to save money on cleaning forcing guests to pee in the pool when I asked, they said they put extra chlorine into compensate for it so disgusting

Jacqueline L.

Yelp
The building is in need of renovation. Our room smelled damp/moldy and of smoke. I think one of our neighbors was a smoker. The room was nothing like what was advertised. Oh I almost forgot about the roaches. I was thoroughly disgusted. The kitchen was small and not very functional. I couldn't open the microwave door or the oven door completely because they were wedged against the wall. Loved the beach access. Would have been nice to have a heated pool or two. The front desk staff seemed really indifferent and robotic. Parking was off site, I'm not sure if that was explained in the listing and I missed it but it was definitely a surprise. Aside from the pool and beach access there's essentially zero amenities. No on site restaurants or room service so feeding your family is always a huge ordeal, especially with a partially functional kitchen. Overall I was extremely disappointed for what we paid to stay here.

Stacy K.

Yelp
Won't be back, we go to Myrtle Beach on a family vacation every other year. This was our first time at this hotel (prior hotel was booked) No maid service all week, if you called or went to the front desk they acted like you were bothering them, it would be hours (after multiple calls) before you they responded. The rooms are like every resort in MB, there are never activities at the pool. So many other resorts have activities (DJ's, games, etc) for a better or same price. 2 bedroom suit is actually 2 different hotel rooms with the doors open, not comforting if you have small children and you want to be near them. Dishwasher buttons were missing so you have to guess to how to run it So many other resorts in MB have TRUE 2 bedroom suites

L J.

Yelp
Beautiful view, option of 1-3 bedrooms, several pools to choose from and a kid play area Cons: Slow elevator, pool stays packed so Not much relaxing can be had for the adults. Would have been nice to have an adult only Pool.no lifeguard to regulate anything, The chairs and umbrellas in front of resort are 50.00 a day , they dont come with resort. Wouldnt stay again, to many other places to try

Dardi G.

Yelp
Horrible. Rooms have more dirt tucked away than the street itself. Elevators are dirty and the carpet throughout the building is sprayed so you dont smell the mold

Ivy G.

Yelp
Room 614 is disgusting. Smells nasty, old furniture and appliances.. disgusting!!! The entire resort smells horrible. Murphy bed is nasty..

john c.

Yelp
Beachfront high rise hotel. Place is quite dated. Furniture in our unit was dirty, dingy, and smelled damp moldy and musty. Had to summon the GM to spray insecticide as we had palmetto bugs (aka: flying cockroaches) and other insects in the room. He kindly obliged. Front desk service lady seemed annoyed when we checked in. No smiles. We would not stay here ever again nor do we recommend it. Area surrounding the hotel is rundown and seedy to say the least. I gave this place 3 stars because it's right on the beach and it has 2 pools. Price was reasonable, but now I know why. You get what you pay for. Do not stay here.

Jen S.

Yelp
Just got here last night but not impressed so far. Paying a lot for a "deluxe" suite - pretty ratty. Nice location overlooking the beach. Beds relatively comfortable. But feels run down, kind of gross.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Rooms are very run down and old. Nothing is as pictured in their advertising. Very disappointing. Beautiful beach front location and views, but you can get those at much nicer resorts. Way overpriced for what you actually get. Stained carpets and furniture, broken door and drawers, torn bedding, and dingy overall.

Michelle M.

Yelp
My family and I stayed at this lovely resort for a get away weekend. We stayed in a 2 BR- Deluxe- Oceanfront- Palmetto. The room was spacious and beautiful it had a kitchen and 2 bathrooms which was great for us because we were two families in one suite having a total of 5 of us. The room had an amazing view and was very clean. Although I believed the bathroom towels were a little too rough on skin the bathrooms were very nice. The resort had a total number of about 8 pools. Which were amazing. The deepest one was 5ft 6in. There where 3 jacuzzis and and 1 large kiddie pool area as well as a lazy river. Although finding the lobby is at first confusing personal is always out front to lead you where you need to go. The parking is right across the street from the hotel right next to a store which is convenient in case you forgot anything at home or want some snacks but can also be a little difficult to go in it straight from the hotel because you have to go in a circle rather than going straight in. Unfortunately the hotels location is right beside family kingdom which could be good considering short walking distance to get there, but at night the yelling and music and roller coasters are too loud making difficult to sleep. The customer service was impeccable. The lady in the front lobby was really helpful answering all our questions and giving us good advice on where we can get the best deals and what activities were worth the pay.

Tara W.

Yelp
This was my third time staying here. Was there in 2016, 2018, and now 2021. With COVID guidelines, there was someone who was suppose to be knocking on our door everyday to ask if we needed grab towels. We were on the 11th floor. One day my husband asked the housekeeper if she had any towels, she said no she didn't. There was a male housekeeper who said "did you ask the housekeeper?" and we told him we did but she said no. He said what's your room number I will bring them to you. The only day they came to ask us if we needed fresh towels it was a Hispanic lady and she was very polite. In my room there was sauce on the picture frames like they hadn't cleaned, there was a dirty cup in the dishwasher. Security guards were there but nobody to enforce the pool rules. Some parents were just letting their kids run around and splash all the other guests. I get it you're there to have fun but at the same time you still need to be polite of other people who are also staying there.

Christi S.

Yelp
Absolutely disgusted. Please, look at the pictures I have provided before you ever step foot here! It was unsanitary. I came for a vacation with my husband and we were so disappointed, we immediately changed hotels. Do not be fooled by the good reviews on here. Also, the area is terrible. We have been told multiple times to be careful because there's shooting on the backstreets right by the hotel. NO ONE wears masks, not even the hotel workers. We felt so unsafe especially with COVID-19. People pile on the elevators and the elevators look like they haven't been cleaned in years. I am so sad and disgusted we ever planned to stay here. Thank god we didn't have our daughter with us!

Liv F.

Yelp
I decided to try Sandy Beach for this year's summer vacay. After reading many reviews of this place, I made sure to book a room in the Palmetto Tower (I believe that's what it was called - it's the "newer" bldg). The drive-up outdoor (but covered) luggage unloading area was in front of the elevators, which was nice, but the lobby was on the 2nd floor so it felt a bit inconvenient when it came to checking in/out. Check in/out process went smoothly - nothing out of the ordinary. The wait for the main elevators (there are 3) after unloading the car wasn't too bad (we arrived around 5p). The elevator wait on check out day was tougher (we, like most guests, waited until the last minute to check out). No issues with elevator wait throughout our stay. Resort parking was across the street in an uncovered lot. Not too big a deal for us this visit as it didn't rain, and as always, it was tough to find a parking spot late at night. Our ocean view room was nice and clean. Mattresses were clean (no evidence of bed bugs - yay!). Bathroom and shower looked decent. Carpet looked fine (but my family never walks barefoot on hotel carpets). Kitchen/dining area was clean - it was a full kitchen w/stove & oven, microwave and coffee maker. They even provided some dishes and flatware. There was also a washer & dryer (bring detergent!) in our room, which came in handy. Our balcony view was nice - we saw the beach, resort pool and the 2nd Avenue Pier. Pools were clean and never too crowded during our stay (most folks were on the beach I assume), though we did have a tough time finding open chairs pool-side (but that's a problem at any resort). My kids loved the kiddie pool, which is partially shielded from the sun rays. There was also a hot tub that my hubby enjoyed. A resort staff walked by from time-to-time fishing out debris from the pools and sweeping up trash. The resort location was very convenient for my family. It was practically right across the street from Family Kingdom Amusement Park which is a must-visit for my 7yr old. Then the Wave Pool was across the street from Family Kingdom. The Pier was walking distance - just a few blocks away - for fishing and such. There was a pizza place a block away that also had awesome wings and fruit smoothies. Overall, my family and I really enjoyed our stay at Sandy Beach. I would stay here again for sure.

Rev D.

Yelp
One of the worst experiences at the beach. NON MASK WEARERS from front desk staff to visitors. Rude maintenance as well. NEVER AGAIN!

Addi R.

Yelp
there was a bunch of cockroaches in the room and the room was not anything like the pictures it wasn't fully clean and it was rough. we kept finding more cockroaches and everywhere and when we informed them about this issue, the manager was very rude and raising her voice when we remained calm. they told us they would fully refund us but then refused. then gaslighted us telling us they never said that.

B G.

Yelp
First, upon arrival. I almost fractured my hip trying to open the door. When the man came to fix it, we were told they did not have any extra lock replacements. He would try to find some extra parts to fix it. So, they had to give us new scan cards. They next day, upon returning, there was a note that they had replaced the entire lock and I would have to return to the front desk to retrieve yet two new scan cards. On the website for the resort, it stated washer-dryer as an amenity. There was none. When I questioned the front desk, they said, "You booked through Booking.com. We do not know what they are showing on their website. But I was welcome to use the guest laundry for $1.00 to wash and $1.50 to dry." I packed three days' worth of closes for five days stay. Not happy. We only had hot water (Not cold in any faucets). On Wednesday, they had a leak upstairs and had to access the shut of via a bathroom. They did not even come pack to clean up or replace the ceiling title over the toilet. I had to climb on the toilet with a broom Thursday night (I have pictures). On Tuesday afternoon, we were sitting at the pool near the BB grill and a rat ran by us. We had roaches in our bathroom (I have pictures). The split system that they have on the wall in the bedroom is missing a piece. The cold air blew straight on the bed at night. The unit is so dated and needs major painting of walls, The entire unit needs replacement and repair of doors, trim and ceiling (showing previous leak repair--again I have pictures). The stove was sold old, I was afraid to use it. The gasket on the refrigerator would not hold a proper seal. Says, "full kitchen." A coffee maker, no coffee. My sister-in-law's unit had missing tiles from under the toilet. You were afraid you were going to fall over when you had to go to the bathroom. She had a washer and it quit working on the first rinse cycle. We have been to many, many resorts. Update: Four of our five family members have now tested positive for Covid less than 24 hours after we left . I contacted the resort to inform them and give them our room numbers, and not one contacted me back

Joey R.

Yelp
I would not recommend staying at this resort for nothing other than the continuous harassment by the contracted security service. The older gentleman in security walks around with a notepad keeping track of guests. I was stopped on multiple occasions while trying to enjoy the pool or go to the beach to show a wristband that I was never given at check in. The first time he asked for it, I provided my name and room number to prove I was in fact a customer of the resort. That wasn't good enough. He continued to harass me daily asking for the band. He knew I wasn't given one and knew I had already proven I was a a customer. He continued to harass me because "it's policy". The resort should really reign this guy in. I seen him harass guests non-stop. My family and I will not be back.

Christine K.

Yelp
Like previous reviews mentioned, it's a nice resort but the guests are a problem. Loud and screaming in the hallways at all hours of the night. Parents let their children run around through the halls. I was woken up at 4am by teenagers knocking on everyone's door. Front desk doesn't care.

Brendan S.

Yelp
We had a great time at this resort. It's at the south end of the boardwalk, and it's definitely in the more tourist part of Myrtle Beach. But the price was great. We stayed in a king jacuzzi suite and had tons of space and a kitchen. As you can see by the pictures, the view is outstanding. The pool situation is great too--it's right in between the resort and the beach, and there's a path between the beach and the pool right through the dunes. The free coffee in the lobby every morning was nice. The amenities were a bit shabby and this certainly isn't a five-star, all inclusive resort, but if you're looking to have plenty of space and a great view without breaking the bank, I'd think about coming here!

Kisha C.

Yelp
I've stayed here before and the past and was disappointed at the current state of the hotel. We got in late with 2 small children so we didn't have time to look when we got in. The morning sunlight told a very disappointing story. I called the front desk about my carpet being dirty and I have two small kids with me and it's not giving me the best feeling. Someone immediately called me back that was extremely short and said he was short on staff, which I said I understood. He said he didn't know what to do for me so I told him that I would come down and get a vacuum and some sport cleaner and clean it myself. He said that he wasn't in the building and that was in the middle of something else and hung up. If he had to be rude, he truly could have waited until he was done with whatever he was doing. I really hope that wasn't the manager and if that was the service that I was going to receive I would have passed. I called the front desk and asked if they knew who I spoke with and they said it was probably the GM Tony. He definitely needs customer service classes.

Jamie W.

Yelp
Our first real family vacation. We had a great room in the new reconstructioned rooms. I suggest staying on the upper floors 4th or higher the views are amazing. The location was good close to other attactions. I would suggest getting a rental car as the entertainment shuttle was not as frequent as I had thought it would be. However Sandy Beach Resort was really nice, easy access to the beach. Not crowded at all. If you want a place with a restaurant or that offer a continental breakfast this isn't the place. So its really all in what you are looking for.

Eric J.

Yelp
Normally when visiting MB we stay on the Northside where it has been nice and quiet. This year we switched it up and decided to stay on the Southside. First couple of nights it was ok. But then the trash from West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania started showing up and made our 2 week stay a nuisance. First they started going in and out the room all day and night. With your bedroom near the front door all you hear is door open and slam and 30 seconds later the same thing. Then the balcony door opening and closing. Its like a grinding slam over and over. And these people have no control over their kids. It's like a free for all. Including the parents, they don't discipline their kids. Kids out of control. The resort is nice, its just the people that visit it are the problem. If you are a quiet couple or a small family, stay on Northside and avoid these critters. They come 2-3 families and they treated it like a college dorm. Spend more money to be in peaceful location. The whole point is rest and relaxation.

Yelp
First time at the Sandy Beach and I would say that this is a good place to stay if you're looking to be in the middle of the action in South Myrtle. However, if you prefer more luxurious or less noisy oceanfront condos than this may not be the exact fit for that. The building is newer than most and has a great location right in the middle of South MB right across from the amusements, and within walking distance of the fireworks pier. The water attractions, pool and lazy river were great. Kids loved hanging out in the pool. The front desk is on the second floor and somewhat confusing to find for first time guests. This may have been intended as an all condo building at some point then changed to weekly rentals along the way. The 2bdr unit we had was a great deal and booked through online reservation site. The room was ocean view rather than direct oceanfront but for the price savings, would book this arrangement again. The front desk staff was terrific, booked in to the room in less than 10 minutes. Took a few to find the reservation due to booking through external source but no biggie. The parking and loading for this building is somewhat challenging and there were plenty of unhappy campers waiting for the elevators to arrive. Main parking lot is across the street and noticed security patrolling the area which is good because there is a ton of foot traffic in this area. Two 15 min parking spaces are covered and near the elevators. They are in high demand as the entire building has to jostle for space in this area. The building has 19 floors and it can take a while for the carts loaded with vacation baggage to make their way up and down. Tip from the hotel staff "there are two sets of elevators" Smart travelers the take the alternate elevators on the south end of the building. Points off because one of the 3 main elevators was out of service. No evidence that anyone was working on the elevator either. Now on to the room. The 2bdr street front had a great view of the amusement park and surrounding area. Watching cars cruise up and down the main drag this is the room for you. Side benefit, the booming stereo and loud exhaust pipes were noticeable even on the 9th floor. The room spans the front of the building with wall of windows in master bedroom and living area. The side view of the beach balcony was small with three plastic chairs. Building is right next to another high-rise and you can almost reach out and touch the other balcony across. Fortunately the windows are somewhat tinted and opaque except at night. If you prefer privacy on the balcony this may not be for you. Kitchen was functional with stacked washer and dryer. Bathrooms were clean but smelled a bit damp initially. AC was great in the unit and held temp to around 70 during stay. Dust from vents was visible on walls. Furniture was motel quality which is to be expected or high traffic rental. Internet was surprisingly fast for wireless, there was a local signal booster in the room, and supported streaming video which was a big plus. Bring a patch cable and plug in for even better access :-) Overall for a bargain rate this may be a viable option, however with may competitors out there offering similar units, its on the traveler to decide what works best. Good luck.

Yelp
All I can say is - pleasant surprise. Our room was clean. Our room (suite) was spacious. We had a bedroom, plenty of closet space, kitchen, living room area - 2 flat screen tvs and a balcony facing the ocean. Room 721. While the room could use some upgrades visually, everything worked perfectly. The bed was reasonably comfortable (not perfect). The location is great too. I would highly recommend staying here. We only paid $75 per night which was a bargain in my opinion. Others in our party stayed at different hotels and were extremely unhappy. We would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
We were looking for a cheap escape from the cold NYC weather, so we ended up in Myrtle Beach. Our suite had a great view of the ocean and was convenient to whatever is "downtown" (aka nothing). However cheap the room was, it wasn't a good deal. The room seemed to have been recently redone, but it still reeked of stale smoke and something musty. When we opened the closet we discovered the source of the smoke smell - they'd put new carpet on top of the old smokey carpet. On closer inspection, there was mold on the wood furniture in the bedroom. So that was pretty gross. Having the kitchenette was convenient, or it would have been, if it included pots and pans. There was no microwave, so we couldn't even heat things up. There were 4 of each for plates and utensils, which was fine. Room service was a little odd. At 9am they came banging on the door and I said the room was occupied. They kept banging the door and even unlocked it and were rattling the chain, even though I said very loudly that we did not need the room cleaned. I've never had that happen in any other place and we had the place booked for several days so we had a good 48 hours until checkout. The other big downside, which isn't really the motel's fault, was that the snowbirds were very un-friendly. There's coffee in the lobby, since there's no coffee in the rooms, but it was like walking into an elderly version of mean girls each morning. The long-term residents bring snacks down to share with each other, so when I went to get coffee they yelled at me to tell me what I could take and not take. It was weird, but whatever. Just don't assume you can go in the lobby without having someone in a motorized wheelchair chase you out. I'm sure that's not an issue in the summer.

Yelp
We have stayed at this property several times in the past. We will be looking for a new place. We recently stayed the week of 10/22-10/30. When we arrived we were aware of the outside pools being closed because of the recent hurricane. It was on the website. We have also stayed the week after a hurricane before and saw how fast that they return everything to normal and have things up and running again. There was no work done on the outside pools the entire time we were there. We never saw anyone even in the area. Also what they don't tell you on the website is that there is NO HOUSEKEEPING. Upon check in- they give you a letter stating that housekeeping is not entering rooms at this time. You have to go to the front desk to a table that has linens and toiletries available. You have to take your trash and dirty towels out to a room and drop it. This is not what our previous experiences have been and I will not stay here again. I choose to take vacation at resort style hotels/condos so that we have fresh towels, linens, etc. Not to mention the $40/day cleaning fee that is added to the bill. When my husband asked about it- we were told that this is a fee that is paid to the city and does not cover housekeeping. It is also worth mentioning that we had some maintenance issues that were only partly addressed. The refrigerator had a puddle in it, one of the toilets was broken and the dishwasher wasn't closing. There was a repair man that came who worked on the refrigerator for an hour defrosting it and said he thinks it was fixed or they would have to replace it. He told us that the door on the dishwasher was out of alignment and if we will pull up on it as we shut it and lean into it then it will lock. He never did anything about the toilet. The next day we had asked again about getting things fixed and they sent another repair man. He fixed the toilet and the door on the dishwasher. The refrigerator was leaking again by the end of the week but we just put a towel on it to keep it soaked up. On our last morning there- a couple of people took a cart out to the car so housekeeping just came into the room. No knocking or anything. We will look for a new place and I guess my new normal is to ask if there is housekeeping.

Yelp
Excellent 3 bedroom deluxe corner suite in Palmetto. Best room we've ever stayed in at MB! Lots of room, balcony in each of the bedrooms and comfy beds. I couldn't help wishing the indoor pool area would have been a bit brighter though, but the water was super warm and the kids had fun. It's just doesn't match the beauty of the rest of the resort at all. It appears dark and a little old...More lights would help, but it's just not exciting like Coral Beach Resort has. No music, no fountains, just a small lazy river inside with one small hot tub and a small square pool. The plastic enclosure doesn't allow you to view the ocean at all. However, we loved the outdoor salt water pool--beautiful and so warm!!! Two hot tubs outside were also nice. Overall, I would definitely stay here again based on the room alone. We loved the location as well. We had a very quiet stay and loved it. Parking was not a problem at all.

Yelp
Worst stay ever!! The room we had was so nasty and filthy..Heavy soiled carpets and chairs as well as black dust across the ceiling..The Ice machine and jacuzzi tub were broken..,Dust and dirt around walls..Cooking pans so black and nasty and dirty. The new microwave was the only good thing in room..Don't waste your time..

Yelp
This was our first trip to MB and we reserved a Deluxe 1 bedroom suite ocean view. The ocean view was the nicest part of this hotel. The hotel itself is very old and needs a lot of improvements. There aren't any amenities for the "resort" fee that needs to be paid. The room itself was very old, and things didn't work properly. Our bathroom door didn't close, hairdryer didn't work, Finding an outlet to charge our phones became a game at night to find out which one worked! The hotel area and clientele were very colorful and loud. The place smelled like something you'd spray in the bathroom trying to conceal the smell.... Staff was friendly enough, but the elevators would shut on you so fast and seems like you could never catch one! The location of the hotel was mediocre too. It was about a 15 minute walk to the promenade (Ferris wheel boardwalk area) where it was over crowded and over priced for the quality of things.

Yelp
Great place to stay. Conveniently located to Family Kingdom, a great beach side waterside, restaurants, a few blocks from the Grand Strand pavilion. Friendly staff. Clean comfortable rooms, 2 outdoor pools and hot tubs, one indoor pool and hot tub, and an indoor lazy river. Walk off the pool deck and onto the beach. A 2 minute walk to the 2nd Avenue pier. Restaurant, Open air bar, and fishing off the end of the pier. Only downfall at Sandy Beach is their WiFi and internet access. Very slow and drops signal. Needs major improvements to the system. Hard to complete computer work if you are needing to conduct business while staying at the resort.

Yelp
I ended up staying at this beautiful resort-hotel when my truck broke down leaving SC . Although, this place (hotel, resort, vacation condos?) is cleaner on the inside than my previous hotel in Myrtle Beach the customer service is REALLY poor, not as many amenities as the other hotel-resort, no covered parking, no beach bar-grille, very little in-room entertainment & they really make it difficult to stay longer. We were told to check out, move our belonging to another room... Obviously they didn't want to have this room reserved on a Tuesday (you know the day after Labor Day when vacancies are high) at a lower rate . Makes no sense to not be flexible with customers who want to or need to stay in your hotel... For this I'm giving them a low score for my overall stay. Next time I will go back to Compass Cove.

Yelp
Every day I had to get a new room key because I was locked out. The key sometimes worked once. This was aggrivating enough to reevaluate our choice of hotels in the future. Aside from that the hotel was great.

Yelp
This space sleeps 6 or 7 at the max. Spacious and comfortable. The dryer would set off the fire alarm in the bedroom, the dishwasher didn't work, and the tv remote didn't work. But the view from the balcony was spectacular. The room has a jacuzzi tub that was amazing. The hallway is a narrow space and it's set up like an apartment. I enjoyed my stay and felt safe. Security was onsite and all was friendly and offered assistance whenever needed. The parking is across the street but not an inconvenience. I would stay here again.
