Rooms are tiny but clean and not crammed or cluttered, so you can actually move around the floor without dodging furniture (or your roommate). Beds are comfortable and I love that they had a spare blanket and 2 more (firmer) pillows in room. And thank you, for having real hangers for my coat and shirts. Those stupid anti-theft hangers rarely slide quietly or smoothly and drive me nuts when trying too get the hangers on and off of the permanently attached loop at those chain hotels.
We stayed in an upstairs no-pet room, with single queen bed. It would be fun to see each of the other room themes.
Friendly guy at check in. He gave us all the information we asked for regarding places to eat, so we had a goal in mind, once we woke up. Safeway grocery store was only about a mile North of us, so we could grab a 6-pack of non alcoholic beer and a bunch of snack food at 9:45pm, before settling into bed to watch the first hour of a loaner VHS tape of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window.
Affordable comfort, good Wi-Fi reception, friendly staff, coffee, Stash Tea and an upright piano in lobby were a nice touch.
My only 3 complaints: 1. I was forced to wash my hands &/or face with cold water in bathroom sink, unless I let it run for about 45-69 seconds (Pet Peeve of mine). 2. The annoyance-noise (could hear a neighbor's TV playing through the thin walls, and also the mini-fridge & wall heater that kept kicking on & off, were a bit distracting while trying to get to sleep.). 3. Wall plugs by bed were so loose our tiny USB chargers for phones, barely stayed plugged in (mine fell out of wall in the dark and that was no fun!)
My boyfriend's only complaint was that he thought the shower curtain wasn't mounted right (or tub too narrow?) He felt like his shoulders were either touching the shower curtain or wall his entire shower, and he is just shy of 6', 204 lbs, and only wears a large or XL shirt; (he's not exactly a linebacker.)
I/ we don't usually stay in Seaside, but that could change, so long as we don't need a full kitchen and more space. Sometimes you just want comfort & no-frills without it feeling like your staying in a kid's backyard fort. I was on a tight budget this trip, because I've been off work on FMLA for 2 months, and it was so nice and comfortable, that I'd stay again, even after I'm back to work, and will be able to afford a 4-star hotel!
