Sandyford Lodge Hotel - Book Direct for Best Rates

We had a great long weekend stay. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Good size room with powerful shower. Staff very accommodating and bags were looked after in reception before and after booking in. Breakfast delicious for £10 each more across the road at sandiford hotel. Have booked again for April for a family wedding. Thank you all at Sandyford lodge.

We had a great experience at this hotel as we were lucky to have one of the refurbished rooms. The manager was very friendly and we would stay here again. Easy walk to Hydro, SEC etc and there are lots of nice bars and restaurants in the area.

Lovely room, recently renovated (you could still smell the paint). The view was not great, but the hotel is undergoing renovations, so it's to be expected. Everything was very clean and tidy, though. The staff is super kind!

Fantastic service and very friendly & helpful staff! The hotel is located in a very lively and nice area of Glasgow (bus stop, great pubs, restaurants, shops, museums and the park nearby). However, the house is in a quiet street, so no worries over a good nights sleep. The (bath)room has seen better days, but you get very good value for your money still. We had a lovely stay! Helpful & interested staff. Our large room was on the ground floor (although the bed was just a double) and had a new bathroom. Parking was nearby in a covered car park but was cash only (there was an ATM nearby). Buses into town (as well as the hop-on-hop-off-bus) were so easy to access (just be aware you can't tap to pay for 2 people on the one card). Breakfast was across the road at the hotel and it included a good selection. We loved having dinner one block up at the Ox & Finch but booking was essential as it is busy - they are mostly shared plates)

The Sandyford Lodge was a perfect location for visiting someone at the University of Glasgow--great restaurants and pubs nearby and on the main bus line. We could also walk to the City Centre car rental location to rent a car for the weekend (when parking was free on the street in front of the establishment). The front desk is available 24/7 and the family is very accommodating. The key thing to know though in choosing Sandyford Lodge is that this is not a commercial brand hotel: there's no elevator, no amenities (ice machine, gym, etc.), and the rooms are minimalist. The beds are comfortable and there is a desk & chair, small closet (with plenty of hangers), TV, electric teapot, bars of soap and shampoo dispenser in the shower--but there are no extras (no table, lounge chair or couch, fridge, safe, iron, countertop, conditioner, lotion, hair dryer, decorations, clock, etc.). The windows are big and can be opened, which is very helpful as there is no room thermostat and the room's electric lighting options are limited. The one challenge was the shower, which is extremely tight (and the door would not probably allow someone who is particularly stout to even enter). That said, the facilities, cleanliness, and service were at the right price for our extended stay.

The ceiling in the bath had black mold on it, the duvet was yellowish. The location was good though and the staff friendly. Wouldn't visit again because of the mold and the duvets.

Stayed for one night, can't comment on any other rooms as never seen anyone else to speak to but we were in a basement room and walking in your eyes are immediately drawn to damp on the wall, further inspection showed windows that hadn't been cleaned for months. The view out of the window is basically a jungle that could be made into a really nice outside space. The bathroom was clean, toilet seat was a bit loose though.||Waking up in the morning my other half discovered there had been a leak which we think was possibly the radiator but it had soaked his clothes and the carpet, we reported this to the guy on reception when we went to sort breakfast which I thought I'd already booked but apparently hadn't. Didn't realise you actually had to go to another premises for breakfast which seemed a bit odd.||The staff are really friendly and helpful, the owner is a lovely guy and it's a shame that the hotel is obviously in need of a lot of TLC as it's a lovely building but definitely needs some money spent on it.||
