It has everything for every need (late September 25)! Multilingual Friendly staff at reception, throughout the campsite and the bar. There's a breakfast hut but always missed due to being late risers. Several washing up areas for the dishes and folk. Views to die for any time of the day, 2 beaches. Ideal for foraging sea weeds (delicious and healthy). If you love seeing shooting stars, Northern lights (if you are lucky) & the milky way, this is the place to be. Walking distance from the caves, walks, wire thing and cliff jumping and many more activities. Note: there are 2 roads to get to the camp. Be careful with Google maps especially if you have an old and delicate campervan. 1st one is super steep descend and 2nd one is an ordinary road. Will definitely be back again. Would highly recommend

This was our second visit and it did not disappoint! We love this site and could not recommend it any higher. From the moment you arrive to the friendly smiles of the owners to the huge smile that will appear on your face when you look over the side of the cliff to the beautiful beach below and out to sea. It is idyllic, peaceful, a fantastic location to sit and unwind or go for a walk. The showers are always clean, there is a kitchen area for those who are camping and don't have their own cooking facilities. It also boasts a laundry room with washing machines and dryers. Nearby is the pub which has really friendly staff and a pool table. There is a shop just up the road which stocks all of the things you could possibly need. Can highly recommend their fresh sausage rolls and the fresh cakes looked yummy as well! Keep walking and you will get to Balnakeil Craft Village where you will find a cafe with the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted. Keep walking further down the lane and you will end up at Balnakeil Beach where there is an old Church and graveyard which are definitely worth a visit. In the other direction from the campsite you will find Smoo Cave which again is a must to visit.

A couple of nights here to take a break from driving, well worth it for the views from pitch 64 alone. A bit windy due to Amy, but with hydraulic levellers deployed, stable. EHU added to the comfort. Friendly helpful staff. Washing machine and dryer totalling £9 for a big load. Bracing walk on the beach to clear the lungs. Recommended

Amazing location overlooking the bay and beautiful beach. Facilities were excellent with great showers. We had hard standing , EHU pitch and it was fairly flat. Grass pitches were also available. We have a T6 and always sleep in the pop top, but it was so windy on the nights we were there that we slept on the downstairs bed instead (and it was fine after that). Had the most amazing view of the sun coming up over the cliff in the morning. A beautiful site.

Popular campsite. Excellent location and views. Good facilities although the showers were unisex which is unusual in my experience and not preferred. No hairdryer that I could see. Cafe bar next door which was a lovely spot. Didn’t get to sample the breakfast cafe as this had closed at 9:30 after our morning walk.

The location is lovely but nothing there, campsite clean most pitches have sea view even now in late October was very busy, toilet shower block clean fresh. The site itself could do with some care and spruce up no flowers lights WiFi etc basically just a layered field, the view is only nice part! But realistically for £34 per night it's reasonably priced comparison to alot of others. The guy at reception took my cash, told me pitch number left me to it no receipt or advice.

This is one of the prettiest places to camp! We had a pitch over looking the whole of Sango Bay and the view was incredible. |We had glorious weather and spent the afternoon on the beach which is one of the best we’ve ever been to, clear and clean water and soft golden sands! |We appreciated the family shower it made life so much easier, saying that I also used the unisex block in the morning and felt perfectly safe! |We had dinner from the on-site pub (chips and curry sauce) it was delicious and the breakfast from the breakfast bar was just as good, bacon and sausages of great quality! |We highly recommend this site - especially the sunrise that’s something not to miss!

Great stop on the NC 500. Busy and very popular as its easily accessed and has terrific views out to sea from the cliff side position. A decent/OK pub to one side and an excellent well stocked shop to the other (the Spar) this is well worth a stop. It’s a but cramped and the pitches are close to one another, and the facilities seem rather few in number for the size of site but it works and we had no problems.

Yelp
Dog-friendly Pub with good old classics on the menu After a fantastic drive from Thurso to Durness we felt quite a bit hungry. Luckily we passed this place and headed in for lunch. There is a restaurant section and a Pub section (with tables), which does allow dogs. There are lots of good old Pub Classics on the menu, a fact I very much liked. We ordered Fish'n'Chips and a Pie with Chips (and beans). Two beer to go with. Beer was nice and cold, the portions of the meal generous. Fish was crispy and fresh, the Pie creamy and savoury. After a long drive exactly what I needed, some good old pub food. Given the remote location and the lovely Sango Bay next door the prices were really fair. Fun fact: The "Hound" from GoT was a guest here before. Check the news by the entrance.

Yelp
Sango Sands Oasis pub is pretty basic as pubs go - it reminds more of a working mans club than an old mans pub, trendy bar etc. It has 2 dartboards which we made good use of, and a pool table. The seating area is pretty big - assuming more for making space for tourists than locals - thinking that the congregation of the area would fill the place up alone. Either way, it has an array of local and standard beer, and plenty of whisky. I tucked into a Red MacGregor, from the Orkney brewery. It had me on the floor after a couple. Delicious! The restaurant itself has a bit of a horrible smell of old fat around it, but... the food itself is prepared on the premises. The thai fish cake was a traditional fish cake, but seasoned with coriander and chilli. My main of scampi and chips was a hearty portion, although I could have done without the carrots and peas that seem to have come from a tin, with subsequent loss of texture along the way. But otherwise, the food worked for us on a cold and blustery night. Service is pleasant and frequent, so our beers remained full throughout the meal. It's not going to win any awards, but it's not the worst I've ever been to either. Don't go in with high expectations and you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
We weren't expecting much. Just pub food. But we were extremely disappointed. The food was bland and we couldn't even finish our meals.

Yelp
The baked potatoes are excellent. The place is not fancy but you will get a solid meal at a good price. I would happily eat here again.
