Saniku Gakuin Japanese School

Worst experience here. Want to give ZERO star. Very disappointed, and regretted bringing my kid here. The teacher had lack of experience of taking care of and teaching kids. So very disappointed enough to decide to leave here.

The school would be great if your kids are quiet, reserved, and obedient which fit into a typical Japanese good kid. However, if your kindergarteners are out spoken, somewhat troublesome, and challenging to teachers ( that is, a typical kindergartener in US) the school is not capable of handling them because those kids, they believe, would interfere the class progress. So those kids systematically get expelled due to bad behavior when the principal comes in and checks the kindergarten class in the name of elementary transfer test. It is a private Japanese school following Seventh-day Adventist Church belief. On surface, the school follows the general Christianity practice to cherish and guide all the kids regardless. However, the school much more obsessed on sending the kids to all the wealthy private Japanese schools and colleges instead of true meaning of educating kids.

The purpose of Saniku Gakuin Japanese school is to educate Japanese students who will eventually go back to Japan. The students are educated with Japanese textbooks so that they can keep up with the students in Japan that are in the same grade. The academic objective is for the students to achieve basic academic abilities in Japanese, and not for them to enroll in competitive schools. However, since the students are excellent academically and character wise, when they go back to Japan, they tend to enroll in prominent schools. It is not easy to acquire basic Japanese academic abilities here in the U.S.A. Therefore, they are given a well-structured education in class and homework. Students and parents are required to commit to a quality Christian education. If you want your child to learn Japanese in a less stressful environment, I recommend your child attend another school. Saniku students and parents love Saniku Gakuin because of the education they receive and dedicated faculty.
