Although the mid-winter weather was cold and wet, Sankt Helena was warm and welcoming for a night. I attended a meeting with around 40 colleagues, making full use of the conference facilities and enjoying a good night's sleep in a comfy bed. My room was clean, spacious and not far from the meeting rooms and the restaurant. The breakfast spread was very good as were both lunch and dinner, with lots of Danish specialities including herring, salmon, cheese and tasty desserts. Less attractive were the plastic flowers on the tables! Given our short stay and the few hours of daylight in early January we had limited opportunities to explore the surroundings. But I hope to return to the north coast of Sjælland in the spring...

First, let me say here, the hotel is cosy and nice. The the rooms are heated well, fairly large, and well taken care of, and clean. The food is really excellent, fresh fish, and well tasting Danish things and sweets. Friendlyness of the personal is amazingly good. I was there in November 2016 and November 2017. It's a 20 minutes walk to the beach. Problem was however, both times I had bed bugs. Little bites, in a row. I think I don't want to add a picture here of myself with bed bugs, but yes it's what they are. I didn't bring them home, that's the good part of it.

Fantastic foods and great place for trainings/workshops. Plenty of meeting rooms, open space, 15 minutes walk from the train station and beach. The beds have seen better days. Staff very friendly once you get to know them. They have always tried to accommodate your needs. Always looking forward to come here to enjoy their foods.

Very cozy and enjoyable hostel. Secluded area which gives you and your fellow guests a lot of privacy. The place is surrounded by multiple forests and has quite a lot of activities. Like mini golf, football and games to borrow. However, a big minus was the state of the place. The rooms were quite run down and the football pitch was horrible. There were two goals but that was about it. There were no nets in the goals so when you scored a goal the ball flew into the forest. You almost spent more time searching for the ball than actually playing the beautiful game!

We really enjoy the self catering aspect of traveling and this place was just what we needed. It was shoulder season, so not terribly busy. The grounds are huge with something for everyone, as long as your looking for relaxation. The beach(es) are nearby and the little towns are picturesque. The only drawback is the layout. Parking isn't far away, but some rooms (not ours) would be a hike to get to your car.

Close to Godhavn train station. The whole place is all about family time, outdoor dinners and games. We rented small bungalow , spacious enough and clean. It is located 20 min walking from town center and 10 min away from the beach. Good place to enjoy the nature and escape busy daylife

Beware of this place! The pictures on the net are totally misinformative! The little houses that can contain 2-3 beds are dirty. They smell of mould. There are old disgusting naked mattresses, no duvets or pillows. We glanced once at it and left. We did not even want to enter this disgusting little room. No bathroom or toilet. You have to use a common toilet in some barracs a bit away. Flooded with water on the floor and terribly dirty. We were really surprised that the people running this place are allowed to do so under danish law. Do not book this-you will regret it.

Left Aarhus in the morning by ferry and stayed here on the way to Copenhagen. Found it as it also is part of the Danhostel network. I was offered a family room which turned out to be a small apartment sleeping up to 5. The facility was fine and well appointed. The resort offered other facilities that I didn't use other than breakfast. Interestingly the helpful man on reception was a world class cycling champion as he advised that you could get to the restaurants in Tisvilde in 3 minutes by bike - even Bradley Wiggins would have struggled! As always then travelling solo is expensive for accommodation and at £78 for a room, sheets and a breakfast is probably quite reasonable for Denmark.
