My wife loves Hello Kitty. So if you know someone who loves it too you must go. It's indoors with AC. The weather was hot and humid, so it was perfect to be inside to enjoy it. If you don't want to wait in line, you can buy priority tickets at the entrance of each ride. The price for the priority tickets is different for each ride. We left the Shinjuku train station and took the Red Express on track 2, and returned on track 3.

I went to the park just before golden week. The ticket prices are somewhat reasonable. The park is quite big with 4 floors. There are a few rides, many souvenir shops and good photo opportunities. The cafeteria is standard and they have many curry options as well as sweets and cakes. They also have other cafes and restaurants to suit different tastes. They do have a parade which you have to wait for and it’s limited to certain areas which can be frustrating to navigate. I wish that there was more interactive parts of the park like games and photo booths, something better to pass the time.

Genuinely fun. My husband and I chose to come here mainly for my daughter. Ended up us three had a total blast. Plus point it is indoor so we avoided the heavy rain outside. The character meet n greet was fun. We managed to make it for Cappucino's birthday parade which prioritiZe the kids with their own front seat views and high five session. The rides were adorable. Went for the kawaii kabuki theatre. Excellent. We got the puropass and it was ao worth it. The acrobatics and theatricality was well done. And even the Sanrio characters were dancing. Cinnamoroll was flouncing his baggy pants and i could even hear badtz maru thump his own chest. Very good family outing for kids of elementary sch age (with parents who wanna relive their own sanrio childhood)

A fun place especially for those who love all Sanrio. Mostly Japanese people visited this place. Be prepared for long lines for rides even if you arrive early. There are a rides, claw machines, meet and greet characters and even a cafe and gift shop. Come decked up in your favorite Sanrio character.

Calling all Sanrio fans (especially Hello Kitty), this is must visit attraction! Double check Google Maps en route to here so you don't get lost in Tama like I did.... It's super kawaii on the outside and inside! Watch at least one of the shows (people will queue up early for viewing spots!), meet some characters and play some arcade games or get a souvenir penny, make name labels, spin their lottery wheel. Great place for families and kids (or fans of Sanrio). Get the skip the line tickets (it's not too expensive and comes in single and packs of 4). The Sanrio character boat ride felt more worth it as it was the longest ride out of all of them (with skip the line tickets, we got a whole boat to ourselves!). We also got the chance to ride My Melody Road (My Melody's life story basically) and the Cinnamoroll new ride in Discovery theater (you shoot at targets and then at the end they display the top scorers haha). Don't miss out on the shows even if you have to wait a bit! We watched two shows during our visit: the Miracle Gift parade and Kawaii Kabuki (had to queue up 30 min before show time for this one). I really enjoyed the Kawaii Kabuki one and despite being one hour long, the time flew by so fast. The largest merch shop is the one by the entrance/exit, take your time to browse it! Since it's the flagship Sanrio store, everything you would find at a regular branch you could find here too. There's also Puroland exclusive merch like keychains, socks, headbands etc. Food: Sanrio Rainbow World- It's decent fare for theme park food. Go early to avoid the lunch rush as the lines get long for the popular food spots. The prices are expensive of course but the quality of the food is honestly pretty okay. We tried the gudetama carbonara and pochacco bolognese. Sweets Parlor- Dippin Dots ramune and vanilla flavors

Google
It is funny Most attraction have rather long lines but can be skipped by purchasing a special pass on site. It is not too expensive generally around 1000-2000 yen each attraction. Saves you 1-2 hours everywhere. Location is small but can easily spend a day and it is funny

Visited 4/2024. Based off of other reviews I almost skipped visiting this place. It doesn’t have the bells & whistles of Disney Land but it is still pretty cool. We went when it first opened and had no wait. This is a huge indoor amusement park. There are a ton of rides & activities, including live shows. The food court has a number of themed restaurants (and food items) and price points. The food was good. There are several gift shops which also have items at every price point. If you are coming to Tokyo with a Sanrio fan or teen, I would recommend a visit here.

Google
Very cute but I don’t think I’d come here again. It definitely is targeted towards a younger audience. The merchandise wasn’t that great. I did like the coin machine. There are 2 rides but both were over an hour. I liked how you could decorate the pictures they took on the ride (for 1000 yen).

Yelp
What a great time at Sanrio Puroland. I wouldn't say this is a must your first trip to Tokyo, but definitely something to do on your second trip or if you are staying in Tokyo for a week or more. First if you're looking to buy tickets, Klook is the way to go. I was able to score them for $15 each. It is about a 45-60 minute train ride from Tokyo. We got there 20 minutes before opening and there was a long line out the door. Similar to Tokyo Disney, the lines moves quick. My wife and I researched Sanrio Puroland prior and knew our game plan. I'm going to be honest, their front of the line passes are sold via vending machine and pretty inexpensive to me personally. I love that they sell family fast pass tickets for 2-4 people. Rather than waiting we purchased our time slots and went to their souvenir shop. We got the shopping out of the way and were able to make custom keychains (which had a long line later in the day). Fast pass lines went quick for the two rides, giving us time to explore the rest of Puroland. My daughter is obsessed with My Melody so we knew that this was the one character we wanted to see. You do have to reserve your photo session. I waited until a show started for the crowd to die down at the reservation line. Food was more expensive, but nevertheless okay. Not amazing but okay. Finally any show/parade is packed with spectators. We were able to walk around and snag a spot, but waited for 45 minutes for the show to begin. Overall, my daughter loved it!

Yelp
My daughter, a die-hard Hello Kitty fan, was over the moon when we visited Sanrio Puroland during our recent Tokyo trip. Surrounded by her cousins, their excitement was contagious as we entered the pastel-colored wonderland. The park's ambience is pure magic. Every corner is bursting with cuteness, from the whimsical décor to the cheerful music playing in the background. The dining area is particularly adorable, with character-themed food and drinks that delighted the kids. Highlights included the enchanting boat ride through Sanrio's storybook world, the lively parades featuring all her favorite characters, and the chance to meet and greet Hello Kitty herself. My daughter's face lit up with joy, a memory I'll cherish forever. Sanrio Puroland is a must-visit for any young fan of Hello Kitty and friends. It's a day filled with laughter, wonder, and unforgettable moments that will leave your child beaming. Highlights: Sanrio Character Boat Ride: This was a favorite among the kids, offering a whimsical journey through scenes featuring beloved characters. Lady Kitty House: My daughter was over the moon meeting Hello Kitty in her charming house. Miracle Gift Parade: The vibrant parade was a visual treat, with colorful floats and lively performances that captivated everyone. Shopping and Dining: We enjoyed browsing the themed shops and indulging in adorable, character-themed snacks.

Yelp
I almost didn't go to puroland, but I'm so glad I did! I am not a big Sanrio fan but I still enjoyed it. Everything was so cute! The courtyard is beautiful. The parade was spectacular. The kabuki show was really great. The photo ops were really special because the characters were really loving. Note that for hello kitty only, you can't take photos with her on your phone and must purchase for $10 with $6 for each additional photo. Dont buy more than one tho because they didn't tell us until after we purchased the second that they give you the downloadable picture! :( I suggest u go early for the photos tho because we missed a majority of them since some were only there in the morning. The food was so cute and reasonable. Food was just ok (I got the hamburger souvenir lunch box). But my mom loved the hello kitty ramen. Liked how you could keep the souvenir plates, lunch boxes, and mugs. Even the napkins from the cafe were adorable! One thing that really stood out was that the staff were super helpful even tho they spoke little English. Some would even walk us from one destination to the next even when it was on a different floor (because the maps somehow are hard to read and find where things are). Pls note that pretty much everything is in Japanese, but it was still fun. If it's your bday month, they give u a placard with stickers. There are only two rides. The one car ride one is kind of cheesy and not that great. But The boat ride up on the second level is totally worth it. Pls note, that you can only take stairs and there is no elevator, which made it especially hard for handicap. There is also a handicap pass that allows you entry to the rides and parade without waiting. Note that the souvenirs are EXPENSIVE. It's cheaper to buy it elsewhere or purchase the food that comes with a souvenir plate or box Buy the tix on a third party like Klook and it's like half the price. Also note that this place is FAR! It's really out there. Takes several trains and is not close to the center of Tokyo.

Yelp
If you're into Sanrio, this place is for you! Located outside of Tokyo. We took an uber because we started the day off late. Based on google on taking the metro, it would take about an hour to get there. Also, we were confused on how to get there by metro. Boy, it was a bad idea for an uber. There was traffic so the ride took over 1.5 hours! My sisters and I dozed off during the ride. Finally got there and we were just so exhausted and hungry. Once we entered, our inner kids came out :). Everything was so darn cute. I'm not into Hello Kitty like that but I grew up with Sanrio. It was nice to see all the childhood Sanrio characters. They are considered an amusement park but only have 2 rides. This place is mostly shopping or eating. To be honest, nothing much to do. Food was mediocre. Definitely a one time visit thing. I do not think it is worth going back more than once.

Yelp
The cuteness overload... Sanrio Puroland is for the ultimate lover of Sanrio and it isn't that I'm not getting here to Keio Tama-Center station is purely a journey (yup I got lost) and getting to the entrance was horrible because if you don't know there is zero signs from the station to Puroland and I had to go through Yelp, Google and all didn't help...stay on the path once you exit the station and walk straight down until you feel the need to go left and you should see the giant palatial entrance to Puroland. Entrance is a breeze unlike Mickey's version and once you're in it felt like I was at the entrance of a cute hotel with the lobby with a place to park your stroller, store items at the lockers or some photo ops at the cute giant Hello Kitty. It's like a labyrinth going into various area of rides or activities as I went into a central area where apparently I just missed a parade/show of some sort as everyone was viewing it from different areas it was all stairs lots and lots of stairs. The vibe here is really for kids and the decor was a bit of a afterthought and cheesy however it was constructed...so not impressed especially for an hour journey here, they food court was insanely crowded so I just shopped at the gift shop on the other hand was great as it was nice and organized with lots of items to choose from though it was much more expensive than I remembered, super cute but was quite bored in general. どうもありがとうございます!

Yelp
I decided to come here on a rainy day since it is a fully indoor park. I loved that they had umbrella lockers! Their hours are limited but I was able to hit all the major attractions and activities without having to pay for fast passes. The adventure starts right when you get off the train as the road from there to the park is decked in Sanrio decor. Food was cute but it was pretty disappointing taste wise. The Kabuki show was good and the My Melody and boat rides were super cute. Ride photos can be purchased after the ride. The My Melody ride is photo heavy. Try to purchase souvenirs at the gift shop throughout the day. It was a nightmare towards park closing time. They don't do tax refund.

Yelp
Magical place where all the 30 year olds come to live their dream. You gotta tangle with all the kids for the souvenirs and spot to sit to watch the parade. Fighting!

Yelp
For $16.72 *prices subject to change* it's well worth it! I recommend doing the shopping first and getting the tag first I seen that they run out of the cute ones by mid day. There's 4 floors. The entrance starts you off at the third floor and there's a food court on the top floor where you get to see the different character dining areas color coordinated. The pochacco spaghetti was pretty yummy and I love their melon soda! The wait time for the boat ride was 2 hours and 20 minutes so I'd recommend getting the puro pass which I located on the first floor so you just go down the escalators you see right at the entrance and then down the stairs you'll find the kiosk to the right. The boat ride is absolutely beautiful and worth the wait. The merch is absolutely adorable and I love that they have merch for characters you can't find at home. My favorite is Usahana and I found lots of goodies! Highly recommend. There's only two rides and mostly photo ops so just something to consider. I love Sanrio so to me it was perfect!

Yelp
I'm going to go out on a limb and say Sanrio Puroland should be on your Tokyo hit list if you have a child or teen. It was a must for us because we were traveling with a Japanese pop culture passionate teen, and seeing Puroland through their eyes made for a wonderful visit. Puroland is all indoors with air conditioning, which makes for a good summer activity in the sweltering Tokyo summertime. There are only two actual rides in Puroland, which might surprise American amusement park goers. The Sanrio Character Boat Ride is the better and more extensive of the two, and reads a lot like "It's a Small World" at Disney. Rides are mainly an opportunity to take photos with Sanrio characters, so be ready to smile for cameras throughout your ride & you'll be offered the chance to purchase photos at the end. All four floors of Puroland include live theatre performances with Sanrio characters performing in Japanese. For live performances, if you can just get into the experience without a complete understanding of language, you will have a great visit. I mean, who doesn't want to see Kabuki Theater with characters in giant stuffy suits! It was awesome. (There is a proprietary app your can download to translate the Kawaii Kabuki but Wi-Fi completely failed us at the theater, so do that ahead if you want that feature.) Highlights included the afternoon park wide light show & music performance (get a good viewing spot at least a half hour before, don't miss this!) called the Miracle Parade, the Hello Kitty character visit and photo, the character water ride, the Hello Kitty Kabuki, the character food & the retail. Entrance tickets (includes all live performances) should be purchased ahead, online from the US if possible, to reserve your day, as Puroland has limited capacity & often sells out.

Yelp
Find your inner Hello Kitty fandom. Located about 45-1 hour from Tokyo this is Sanrio's answer to Disney. How to get here: 1) in the morning take an Uber. This will get you there quicker and rested. More on that later. It will take you about 45 minutes depending on traffic and will drop you off at the bottom of the escalators. Take those up to the entrance. If you need restrooms they are right at the drop off point. 2) train. Depending on where you are in Tokyo this will take from 45-1 hour. Use the rapid express on all legs of the train and you may be required to change lines 2-3 times depending again where you are in Tokyo. The train station is super cute decorated with Hello Kitty and an assortment of Sanrio characters. You walk down Hello Kitty street with an assortment of stores; not much merch here. Main entrance. Get your Purioland Pass on line. We could not figure out how to get character pictures until arriving so let me explain. Head immediately to the Character meet and greet downstairs. Take out and PAY for a reserved time for your character meet and greet. These are little kiosks that sell a certain time and character. Once you have squared away your reservations do the same for the two rides available: the boat ride and car. The former is the best and you may want to do it again. The standby line is usually an hour. Think Smallworld but with Sanrio. Then the car ride. It is imperative you get the parió pass. Otherwise you won't see much. The other attraction is Hello Kitty's house. You essentially walk through her house and take a picture at the end. Overall: not worth the trip, money unless you are a die hard fan. There is a dearth of English speaking staff--which is odd as they are all young--and little is translated. Think of Disney World, a lot smaller, with zero explanation and no staff assistance. Food: ok. Shopping: good store on the 3 floor by the entrance.

Yelp
Really loved my childhood dreams with this trip to Puroland! Arrived pretty late - around noon and sadly we missed some shows. But honestly none of the shows are in English so it was quite hard to understand. they're cute to look at though!! The two rides they had were slow. The food/desserts were super cute and honestly I wouldn't say it's 5 star gourmet but they are decently good. The blue Lychee cinnamoroll was super cute and actually tasted good. We skipped all the photo ops bc they weren't really worth waiting in line for us. This was a pretty cool experience, would definitely recommend if you love Sanrio/grew up with it.

Yelp
This was a very immersive experience, and I truly appreciated the detail and effort that went into it. The food design was not only visually appealing but also incredibly cute, adding to the overall charm of the dining experience.

Yelp
Unless you are a die hard HK fan, and if you do not have a lot of time, I would say skip this. It took 1.5 hour on transit, with one transfer, one way. We opted for the 2pm admission instead of all day. Waited in line almost two hours for a 3 minute ride (yes we timed it while waiting). It closes at 6pm. They do have live shows in atrium/theater but could not get seating as you have to pay extra or need to have reservations. They do have a lot of stuffs in gift shop that you can not find elsewhere. Lots of photo opps inside and around the building. A few "workshops" for you to make customized items to buy. The restaurant is of course HK theme. We only tried the kids meal (to keep the bento box, lol). As other have stated, everything is non English. The staff are Uber nice and helpful and very young, but mostly non English speaking but we made it work, not a problem.

Yelp
Look, I am not anywhere close to the ranks of the Sanrio superfans... I have developed an appreciation though, ever since getting to know my wife while we were still dating. So when we took our Japan trip, we wrenched in a visit to Sanrio Puroland into our itinerary. I really did not expect much since I'm not super into it, but my wife was so amped up. And rightfully so! Even getting off on the train stop, we were seeing all kinds of Sanrio characters on the signs, the walls, the floors, in the train station... it was a trip! Then when we arrived at the gates, we were getting more and more excited! Everyone working there was super friendly and encompassed the Sanrio energy. Once you step in, you are DROWNING IN AMBIENCE. I could not believe how every inch of that place is full of Sanrio... I have to say they do a theme park better than DISNEY! I was super impressed to say the least. I had so much fun there too! They have a great system for queues and parade watching. Everything was so orderly and it did not feel overwhelming at all. There was so much to take in. The parades were a massive hit and now I know what all the hype is about. The food courts were amazing too, the food is themed down to the grain. I could not believe how well they nailed the decoration, the rides, and meet-n-greets. I was stunned! I became a fan for sure after I left there, I really did not want to leave LOL I am sooooo looking forward to coming back again in the future!

Yelp
First of all, you must be a big Sanrio fan (or at least your child should be!) to thoroughly enjoy the experience. Be prepared for long lines for their two rides but then again, you can purchase a fast pass if time is of the essence. Everything spells kawaii and my daughter and I definitely had a blast enjoying all the photo ops, their merchandise, and their irresistible cute food. We did everything we can in one day but skipped the shows since they're in Japanese. I guess this place was made really for them but nevertheless, it is an experience that should be included in every Sanrio fan's bucketlist!
google avatar

Jennine K.

Yelp
An indoor amusement park for all things sanrio! It's so cute, there's a lot of shops and places to take photos. There's only 3 rides and they're slow and meant for photos. We didn't get to see any of the shows but we had a great time at the character greetings and restaurants.

Yelp
Yelp Review 2023 #61: I grew up having all things Hello Kitty and Sanrio. My Melody, Kero Kero Keroppi, Tuxedo Sam, Bad Badtz Maru, Pochacco, Ahiru No Pekkle, Little Twin Stars are classic characters. Chococat, Pom Pom Purin, Rilakkuma, Kuromi, Gudetama, Aggretsuko, etc. are newer characters. So, if you're a true Sanrio fan, you'll absolutely love this place. If not, you might not enjoy it as much so maybe go somewhere else. Getting here is easy. Hop on the metro going to Tama station. From there, you'll see signs to Sanrio Puroland - you can't miss it. The signage is cute. Before COVID, you can buy tickets online. But right now, all foreigners must complete a questionnaire and buy tickets at the entrance. They're about $30 which is cheap for an amusement park. They keep this place clean at all times. Everything has Sanrio characters from the food, drink bottles - and everything is cuuuuuute!!! Hello Kitty mochi, Hello Kitty doughnuts, Purin pudding, bao stamped with a Sanrio character's face...it is intense! The food is really good. Nice variety and everything we tried was delicious. There's a conveyor belt with food on trays with a lid on (even before COVID), you just grab what you want and pay at the cashier. They have ramen, tempura, katsu, cakes, chocolate mousse, etc. The rides are catered towards little kids but kids at heart are welcome. You won't see crazy fast rides and rollercoasters here. You can visit Hello Kitty's house and hop in her convertible. Lots of souvenir shops. There's a spot that you can get your silhouette or caricature done. There are characters walking around and you can take pictures with them. There's a live show with all the characters you can watch. The only thing I would advice you against are the doughnuts - they're dry and they're not very good, to be honest. They're just cute.

Yelp
If you're a Sanrio fan you'll love this place and want to spend the entire time here. I went on a Sunday and was there pretty much the entire operating hours. There are two rides; the boat ride and the car ride (with photos and you can also purchase your photos for ¥1000). You can wait in line or you can pay ¥1000 to skip the line. (I suggest doing that to optimize your time there.) You'll be waiting in other lines to do things like the meet and greet. The characters that are there depend on the time. There are claw games, a handful of circus-ish games (spin the wheel and such.) There are two restaurants, but you'll probably end up downstairs with the character meals. There are also meal options where you can take the containers home with you (ie character bento box). There are several shows you can watch throughout the day which are great to see Hello Kitty and other non-m&g characters. Overall, it is a great experience even if you may not be a Sanrio fan just because everything is so cute.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon. It was quite busy but basically a small version of Disneyland for Sanrio characters. Lots of things to do- games, shopping, raffles, purikura, shows, rides, gatcha pon. Spent maybe about 3 hours here. Must try the Sanrio shaped foods here. I had the pochacco chicken curry since he is my favorite character. It was okay but definitely a 5/5 on presentation. So cute!! Almost don't want to eat it! Also tried the Japanese flavored dippin dots. So yummy and cute! Loved coming here. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
I'm a little confused how I even heard of this place, but I'm glad I did and even if I bought tickets last minute, I'm even more glad that I had the guts to make my way out to Sanrio Land from where I was staying in my very first full day in Japan. This place will forever be special to me, and I really can't wait to go back. I would say if you are going to look at everything and attend a few of the entertainment shows you definitely should give yourself time to be out here. I've seen some reviews that say all you need is 3 hours- and I thought it would be a quick event but since there's so much to see and do in the small space I ended up staying the whole day there. The park is indoors so you don't have to worry about getting soaked, you can visit rain or shine. Very easily accessible by train. I stayed along the Yamanote loop and got off Shinjuku and transferred to the Keio line. You can also get on the Okdakyu line as well since it goes towards Tama station. I went on a solo trip, and I felt like having a tripod to help me take pics was beneficial. Obviously this place is best for smaller children but since my childhood happiness was embedded in Sanrio, it definitely made me feel good being here. Almost stars struck. I highly suggest watching at least one show here. You have to reserve and pay extra, and make sure you're at the theater 30 mins before it starts. I watched Kawaii Kabuki and even if I didn't understand anything ( whole show was in Japanese) I truly enjoyed myself and was impressed how professional and legit the show production and talent was. Every detail in this place is impeccable and I don't think I can describe it in words how amazing it was to be here. Go for yourself and see how awesome this place is- it will definitely not disappoint!

Yelp
So cute I love this place sm as a person who took a 18 hr flight to Tokyo. I love Sanrio so much and am a longtime fan. The meals were so cute too The service was great, even though I didn't speak much Japanese lol

Yelp
If you are a fan of Sanrio, this is the place to see all the cuteness of Sanrio. Everything is inside is very cute. They have two rides to go on, character restaurants, shows, pictures with the characters, and games. Of course, there is Sanrio shopping! They have a big store with some exclusive Puroland products and little characters shops located in different areas of the park.

L I.

Yelp
Kawaii overload! I've loved Sanrio since I was a little girl and I still love it today. To my surprise, this was my fave place in Tokyo? The only issue is that the lines are so long....to enter, purchasing food, at the gift store, character greetings, rides. We made a mistake of not making a reservation to meet the characters when we first entered. By the time we got there , the reservation time was for 4 hours later and we werent planning on staying that long. Shucks! But we did meet hello kitty herself so that was good. We also didn't get to ride anything bc the wait was 1 hour long. The food and merchandise were so cute. It's hard not to get carried away. Tax free too for purchases over 50$ I believe. I want to visit again!

Yelp
Before going here, many of my friends, who grew up in Japan, warned me that I probably wouldn't enjoy Puroland because it's mostly in Japanese and because it's aimed at little kids. However, as a lifelong Sanrio fan, I enjoyed the park and thought it was super cute! It's not as well done as Disneyland or Disney Sea, but it's still fun for Sanrio fans. The first thing that caught me off guard is that it is an indoors park, so navigating it and its attractions can be a little confusing. It also gets a little warm in there. The park has several rides (mostly aimed at little kids), playground areas (makes for cute photos), games, interactive shows (in Japanese), lots of stores, and a food court serving character themed foods. My favorite parts were the photo areas and the food court because they tended to be the most Sanrio themed. I found the shows to be enjoyable and fun, even though I didn't speak Japanese. If you're a fan of their characters, it's cute to see all of them in costume! The only thing I didn't like about the park is that I felt it could've been even more Sanrio. It felt like Sanrio bought a medieval/fairy tale theme park and covered it up with Sanrio decorations. I would've liked it if they had covered up even more of the old park (like some of the non-Sanrio themed murals) and made some of the little houses look more like the homes of the characters we see on Sanrio merchandise.

Yelp
A small gift for a big smile! Hello kitty and friends are just the cutest. We came to this indoor amusement park with just going with the flow and no plans. It was Christmas themed. So many merchandise everywhere. Rainbow cafe was so colorful. Rides are limited and just went on the cute My Melody car ride and the Sanrio all character boat ride. Both were about 20 minutes wait line in the afternoon. We ate a cute hello kitty tonkatsu ramen. The karrage was not fresh. Got the vending machine hello kitty popcorn. It has a turn knob to pretend that you're popping popcorn. Vending machines and cute little coin operated rides were available. A My Melody room to take pics was pink and festive. There is a Little Twin Stars meet and greet, as well as a Hello Kitty meet and greet. The parade dance was also fun and you can purchase a hand held star to light up with the music. Sanrioland is def kid friendly and so cute! Would come back again!

Yelp
Super KAWAII Indoor Theme Park! A must go for Sanrio Fans! This place is SO CUTE with plenty of photo ops! There are 2 rides, one is similar to A Small World and the other is a Little Twin Star car ride. There's so many shows here and they were all so fun and entertaining! The shopping is great too. There's so many things to buy! The food at the restaurant was okay. It was more cute than tasty.

Yelp
So much fun. We enjoyed everything: the boat ride, Hello Kitty's house and taking a photo with her. We also enjoyed the Gutatama show. There was a lot to see. The parade was very entertaining and adorable.

Yelp
For as long as I can remember; it was my dream to go to Sanrio Puroland! I have always been a Hello Kitty fan and never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever get a chance to go. However this year was the year! I finally made it to Japan and without a doubt, I knew I had to visit my dream theme park! There's nothing quite like that feeling of finally being able to visit a place you've always dreamed of. It just seemed so magical. The theme park itself is not to large. It's all indoors and is two stories. This was actually really nice because one can easily navigate through the whole park in a day. There are only two rides; the Sanrio Character Boat Ride and the My Memoroad Drive (a My Melody inspired ride). For both rides; they will take pictures of you and you can then purchase those pictures on your way out. Lady Kitty's House was also a cool spot to visit. It is basically the elegant house of Hello Kitty. One even gets to have a visit and photo opp with Hello Kitty at the end. I was also quite a fan of the various shows and parades they have. I saw Kawaii Kabuki there and it was full on production with amazing singing and elaborate costumes. No photos or videos allowed but it was definitely one memorable show. There are various restaurants on the second floor. One dedicated to Cinnamoroll as well as a Sanrio Rainbow World Restaurant! The Sanrio Rainbow World Restaurant is super cute because there's specific Sanrio themed places to sit that is dedicated to various characters. There is also a cute food court downstairs. Among the kawaii eats are Hello Kitty curry, Hello ramen and even Hello Kitty hamburgers! Everything was also reasonably priced too. Last but not least if one is looking for Sanrio souvenirs; there are plenty of shops. The main shop is the one right by the entrance but there are various stores throughout the theme park. Some of the ones around the theme park are specifically dedicated to some characters like Gudetama, My Melody and Little Twin Stars. Overall Sanrio Puroland alone made my trip to Japan worth it! I loved everything and it was true Hello Kitty happiness for me!

Yelp
Total waste. Ticket prices on par with Tokyo Disney . M lines. Lackluster rides. Absolute must miss

Yelp
I finally made it here to Sanrio Puroland. It's been a childhood dream of mine to make it here someday. On a Sunday morning we took the JR lines (subway) from Asagaya to Keio-Tama Station. If you're a tourist and you're using the subway/trains, make sure you are aware that on the weekends the train directions on google maps changes constantly. I highly recommend to use google maps if you're using this type of transportation. Also it's helpful to get a pocket WiFi because you'll need your phone to get into google maps. Getting a pocket WiFi will be a separate yelp review. So upon taking the train to Keio-Tama Station, when you get off, you'll see that this station is absolutely cute with Hello Kitty. The area where you scan your JR or Suica pass, those things are PINK! Then you'll see signs and a stain glass mural on the ceiling of Sanrio characters. So so so cute. When you walk outside the station, everywhere you'll see hello kitty and Sanrio characters in signs, murals on walls, statues, banners, murals on stairs and more. You definitely know for sure you are in the town of Hello Kitty. I bought my tickets months ago on KLOOK.COM. And if you get it early, you get a good deal. I think mine costed $18.70 USD. When you enter, you're greeted and given a guide map. It was pretty easy to follow as the guide map were also in English. When you enter you will see there's an upstairs area or you can go through under. It's hard to explain as you will be taking an escalator to go down. I guess they call this area technically as the Site Lines. Just to make it visually pleasing. When you enter after the escalator, you first see this fairytale looking world that is reminiscent to an enchanted forest or village. Very cute. We watched a couple of shows, enjoyed a parade, visited Lady Kitty's House, Boat rides, car rides and shopping. My only regret is not splurging enough. This was the early part of our vacation in Tokyo, so I was watching how I was spending. Now that I'm back in USA I feel this regret to buy without any issue of rationing my spending money. How often can you make it here again? Overall it was a fun experience and it is definitely something you can do with the family. Especially if you were brought up by Sanrio.

Yelp
This is basically Disney, but for Sanrio. It felt as crowded as Disney, and we went at opening on a weekday. Tickets are not that expensive, and you can get discounted ones from voyagin.com. However, there were a lot of things that cost extra here. The shows were cute, but as someone who isn't fluent in Japanese, it was hard to follow along. Read the plot of the shows before you go. Shopping is the main attraction here. I was hoping there would be Aggretsuko merch, but there hardly was any. Most merch is only of the most popular characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, Gudetama, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, Little Twin Stars and Kuromi.

Yelp
If you're looking for a one stop shop for Sanrio merchandise this is the place to go. There were so many new characters that I never knew about. It's not inexpensive so be prepared to shell out some money if you're going to do any shopping. Make sure to purchase discount tickets online through Klook, Viator, etc. You can buy the discount tickets the day of and just show them the QR code at the entrance. The indoor park is packed with dressed up guests, kids, and can get stuffy. Lots of cute photo ops, arcade games, and some rides and shows. Would I go back, no... would I recommend it, not really. If you go on the "Mymeroaddrive" ride and purchase a photo, you can download the high res version up to a month after your visit.

Yelp
I don't usually review amusement parks but I gotta hand it to them, it was an experience I will not soon forget. Definitely a fun place for toddlers, not so much kids. From the singing/light show/performances (which were all in Japanese and incredible), to the 5 attractions (character boat ride - the best one, my melody car ride - not bad, gudatama egg cracking games and bowling game - fun, twin stars journey - okay more like a display and the lady kitty room - also just ok display and chance to meet lady kitty), to the food court (honestly, it is a steal), to the million photo ops with cute stuff to the never ending shopping. Throw in carnival type games, Art areas and two bouncy areas. The ticket price alone is worth it (33 at the booth, 20 on online retailers, we used Voyagin). Food wise, we got the plate meal (1600 yen, so like a little under 15 bucks) which came with a commemorative plate to take home, cheesy shrimp pasta, french fries, two pieces of chicken karrage, a star shaped potato cake, and strawberry mousse. The pasta was pretty greasy but good and creamy, the chicken not good, mega greasy gf said if was burnt, the fries were a little cold but honestly I liked the seasoning on them, the mousse was yummy! Strawberry flavors and it was light and airy. We also got a melon soda (280 yen, so like 2.76), tasted sorta like calpico to me, it wasn't bad. Overall, around 18 dollars for a meal that fed two and we got a plate to take home. This place is much cooler than Disneyland IMO, there are opportunities to buy photos everywhere and they aren't as expensive as at other attraction sites. However, we did not buy the Lady Kitty one (it was 16 for one and 10 for an extra), they used a professional photographer and camera though! We did buy the photo from the boat ride (10 dollars), the photo from My Melody ride (9 dollars) and the Gudatama one (5 dollars). Most pictures let you customize your borders so that was cool. The gift shops were sprawling with limited edition memorabilia that was expensive but not AS expensive as in the states. They market the actual town where Puroland is located as Hello Kitty's Town, so there are cute characters every where you look.

Yelp
This place isn't like your average amusement park. There aren't many rides and the only two rides they have are more of like a show. Instead of rides, there are tons of parades and shops and picture opportunities. There are also many cafes and eateries which all serve Sanrio themed food that tastes wonderful. This might sound boring to some, but if you love Sanrio like me, then this place is great. The inside of the park is extremely well decorated and is very pretty. I love how they had different sections dedicated to different characters as it made it easier to find my favorites. My favorite attraction there was the Sanrio boat ride. It introduces you to all of the different Sanrio characters and is a magical journey. The lines for the attractions look long, but they go by very quickly. My favorite parade is the original, the Miracle Gift Parade. It's so fun and exciting and you have to go watch it. The viewing areas fill up very quickly so make sure that you get a good spot early. The parade schedules can be viewed on their website, so make sure to look at that. Whether you like Sanrio or not, I think that this place is worth a visit. It's someplace unlike any other and is a wonderful experience.

Yelp
Review #036 - 2019 My daughter is a huge fan of Sanrio characters, Hello Kitty, in particular. We showed up around 2:30 PM on Sunday and my daughter was super excited to see all the Hello Kitty decorations. So happy that she ran off on me after I let her down for under two seconds. I honestly did not even see where she ran off to and I started to panic running all over the place looking for her while showing as many people a picture of her as I possibly could. I finally decided to head to exit in case anyone has seen her walk out or if anyone decides to take her out. Thank goodness no one at the exit has seen her, which means she is still inside. The workers here were great at helping me try to locate my daughter. They took down all the information from the picture that I'd just taken of her when we entered the park. Good thing I had the most recent photo with what she was wearing to make identifying her easier. After they took down all my information, the young girl told me to come back in 10 minutes to check if they've found my daughter. While I was walking back up upstairs, another girl came walking down stairs, carrying my daughter in her arms. That moment, my eyes just started watering & I felt like the whole world had just stopped moving. It was the best feeling in the world! I could care less what else goes on in this place, all I know was that they put all their effort in to help me locate my child and that alone deserves 100 stars!

Yelp
As a kid, I would always dream of stopping by Sanrio Puro-Land and would watch loads of videos on it!! Now, it was my chance!! I was hoping to see a much bigger park with more activities to do!! I was expecting something similar to Disneyland's or Disneyworld's but it was super small with loads of Sanrio merchandise shops. There were multiple live shows with different anime characters that weren't Sanrio, that involved the audience to participate. I had spent only an hour and a half before I was completely done with my visit, which was shocking because getting to Sanrio Puroland took forever. Definitely catered more to children than adults. I did buy loads of merchandise, like the amusement park marketed me to do haha. Not complaining. The only thing that swept me off my feet was finding this secret room with the actual Hello Kitty mascot dancing for me and having me take a photo with her!! That was indeed the high light of my trip and the food court. The fries were sooooo good. The cake was too cute to destroy, but I did otherwise. The lines were friggin long for these Hello Kitty shaped waffles/pancakes/burgers etc., not worth the wait. I suggest eating before stopping here. The big show at the end was very nice. I loved the "Wisdom Tree" it was super sparkling and the acrobatic dancer was just stunning. I went on the water ride, looked similar to Disneyland's "It's A Small World." I think this place is worth visiting again if you want to purchase all Sanrio items and even bring your kids here.

Yelp
Since I'm a big hello kitty fan I had to go! We paid $20 each since I had an online coupon and went after 3 or 4pm can't remember. This place is very cute, they have all the Sanrio characters available to take pictures, they have a cute cafeteria, an arcade area, hello kitty house and a couple rides. Even when you're getting out of the subway all you see is hello kitty/Sanrio signs and pictures. The only thing, of course is that this is geared towards little girls. You wait in line for ever to get on the rides since they only have a couple and there's too many people. I didn't bother, I just walked around, took pictures and left.

Yelp
If you are into Hello Kitty, this is the place you must go! Sanrio Puroland is an enclosed amusement park geared towards the Hello Kitty lover. It is largely focused on the younger audience but there are a lot of die-hard older Hello Kitty fans in attendance, as well. My wife being one of them which is why I went. :-) As it is indoors, you are protected from the weather. So, whether it is too hot or too cold outside you are all-good once you go inside. Getting to Puroland is pretty easy if you understand the Tokyo subway system. I will warn you, however, that you should not follow the direction (currently) provided on the Puroland site. They do not mention a specific transfer you must make if you are leaving out of Shinjuku Station. So, confirm your path before you leave or you may end up somewhere you do not want to be and if you do not speak Japanese you may find it hard to get back on track. But, once you get to the Odakyu Tama Center Station it is a quick and well guided walk to Puroland. Inside Puroland there is all kinds of stuff. Much of which does not seem really all that Hello Kitty influenced. But, it is what it is. Then, there is, of course, all the Hello Kitty rides, gift shop(s), and the like. You can also go into Hello Kitty's house, where you can actually meet Hello Kitty. She was quite taken with my arrival I must say and she kept kissing me. AOK. ;-) They also have a big show with dancers and various forms of Hello Kitty and her friends dancing around. Great for the kids or the kids at heart. The main thing to remember is that Puroland will cost you some money. So, be prepared to spend it. On each ride they take photos of you and you will, of course, want to purchased them for your souvenir collection. Overall, for all you Hello Kitty fans out there, this is the place to be.

Yelp
I had no idea this existed until 3 days before my first trip to Japan...if you were ever or are a fan of Hello Kitty and everything related, try to squeeze a half day here! Don't expect Disneyland...Puroland is indoors and much smaller with only 2 rides, 4 live action shows, a bunch of random cute attractions like Hello Kitty's mansion, lots of sugary and salty foods, lots of photo opportunities, and lots and lots of shopping. The shows are all in Japanese only, but the two we saw were still entertaining...Kawaii Kubuki is not to be missed, its amazing!!! Also, the boat ride is not to be missed! Its just like "Its a Small World", except filled with adorable Sanrio characters. The fun food options are a bit expensive and very unhealthy by Japanese standards, but it wasn't terrible and very fun. This park is not open everyday, so check the website. While its cheaper and less crowded on the weekdays(3300¥ vs 3800¥), the weekend crowds come with some incredible cosplayers whom use are the colorful scenery for photography backdrops...and its just fun to hang out in cosplay.

Yelp
I'm a Sanrio fan so of course I would return here while visiting Japan with friends! Quick note ~ make sure to purchase your tickets online in sites like Viator.com or my favorite site to use in Asia ~ klook.com. Klook offers amazing deals and if you travel to Asia frequently, you'll earn rewards points that you can use towards your next tour/service purchase! My ticket for today's visit was only $15.79! It's a great deal if you ask me. The current ticket price at the gate is 38,000¥ or roughly $34 per person. This amusement park is an indoor park, with tons of shows and attractions to keep you and your little ones entertained. Hopefully you'll find all your favorite Sanrio characters walking around or on stage performing. Remember to expect all shows and attractions to be in Japanese. This is not geared towards English speaking visitors, although many/most of the staff so speak English and will assist you in navigating the park If you're in Japan and happen to be a Sanrio/Hello Kitty fan, I would highly recommend you visit Puroland! If you're not a fan, you might find the park quite boring.

Yelp
Warning. This review is completely biased because I LOVE HELLO KITTY. I came to Puroland 9 years ago and visited again this year. I think any and every time I visit Japan (which is not often), I will have to visit Puroland! My husband and I spent the ENTIRE day (from opening to close) at Puroland and I still felt that I could have spent more time there to shop. Getting to Puroland - Getting here is a bit complicated from central Tokyo. We had to transfer trains 3 times to different lines. We had our hotel concierge help us map out the trains we had to use. It took us about an hour to get to Puroland. When we got off the train, it was an easy walk to find Puroland. Check out all of the features at the train station when you reach Puroland! You'll see Hello Kitty and her friends all over the Tama center station! Rides - The amusement park is completely indoors and has 2 "rides" tailored to small children. One ride is similar to Disney's "it's a small world" boat ride and lasts around 10 minutes. The second ride is a photo op ride, which I don't think it worth the wait unless if you want to take 6 photos during the "ride" which is less than 5 min long. And then pay for said photos at the end of the ride. "Fast pass" - If you don't want to wait in line for the rides or wait in line for activities you can purchase passes for each ride/activity to cut the line. For example, the wait time for the boat ride was 50 minutes and this wait time didn't get any better from 11AM onwards. I didn't want to waste time in line, so I ended up paying ~$5 USD per person to cut the boat ride line during the next available time window. Note that the pass is only good for that one feature/ride for a given time window (e.g. Boat Ride from 1:30-2:30) and you have to buy separate passes for each feature/ride if you want to cut the line for. Shopping - There is TONS of shopping to be done and tons of shopping spots. Basically after almost each feature, you exit to a shopping area. There's a main store at the front entrance, however there were items at the smaller shopping areas that I couldn't find at the front entrance shop. So my shopping method was basically, if I love it, I buy it immediately so that I don't have to back track. The main entrance shop has a lot more candy and snacks to purchase such as Hello Kitty shaped almond cookies, rice crackers, etc. However for example, the shop after the Hello Kitty house tour had Sanrio shaped sugar cubes and men's ties that I couldn't find at the main entrance shop. Visiting Hello Kitty - If you go through the Hello Kitty house tour (see her tea area, bath, bed, closet, etc), the last part of the tour is taking a picture with Hello Kitty. You have to wait in line to go through the house tour, and then before you exit, there's a line to take a picture with Hello Kitty. I don't know what you'd do if you didn't want a photo with Hello Kitty - perhaps you just have to ask someone to let you out? Anyway, while you're in line to take a picture with Hello Kitty, you can purchase a flower to give to Hello Kitty. In return, when you meet her, she'll give you a small gift. These gifts are limited each day, and the gift I received for the flower was a Hello Kitty puroland pin/ribbon. After your photo session, you can purchase your photo in the gift shop at the exit. Gudetama airplane area - This was a bit too crowded for me to fully enjoy. We waited in line for this and walked through the game area and photo op area, but the games had long lines that we weren't interested in waiting for. These games were geared more towards young'uns. Little Twin Stars area - The line for this was short! So I waited, watched a short video (it had English subs) and then we got to go into Little Twin Stars' house which was a fun area to take photos, lay on their bed, etc. Shows - There's a lot of shows, I've just never had the time to watch them. There's a main show in the center of the amusement park like a parade. It'll get crowded so you probably want to get a seat or balcony spot before it starts, otherwise you might be stuck behind a lot of people and end up seeing nothing. Food - Have low expectations. I only tried one place at the food court because I saw kids carrying around a Puroland souvenir lunch pail! I had to buy a meal ~$15 USD to to get either a souvenir plate or lunch pail. I ended up picking the plate over the pail, but both were cute. The hamburger itself wasn't the traditional McDonald/In & out burger so I didn't care for that, but the fries were good and the rest of the meal was ok. There are other restaurants on the upper floors, so you might want to check that out before you head to the food court. Definitely stop by the silhouette booth by the food court and have Gus cut your silhouette out of black paper! He's been working there for over 9+ years and he's probably the only one there that speaks fluent English. I still remembered him cutting my silhouette 9 years ago!

Yelp
Knowing what Sanrio about, I know exactly what I'm walking into. Cute, bright, mostly pink and mostly for kids and girls. With that in mind, my family and I had a lot of fun. It was on a Saturday and it was packed. An average of 1 hr wait for each ride. There are only 4 rides or so. We waited an hr for a ride, waited in line for the kitty house and the Kiki room and said.. screw it, we're going to get the fast pass for the boat ride ¥1,000 yen for a family of 4. Totally worth it since it was the most popular and best ride there. Shops are awesome. I know Sanrio is mostly for girls so shopping for my son was difficult. I wish they made more efforts to find ways to appeal to young boys. (He's 4 yrs old btw) Food was delish and created creatively. There are about 3 restaurants. The shows were awesome. We didn't see all of it but plan to get a seat early. All in all it was great plAce to visit.

Yelp
Puroland was one of my must go places when I was in Japan. Being a hello kitty lover for a long time I couldn't wait to go! For me Puroland was like a mini indoor Disneyland for little kids. They have performances every hour so don't miss out!! Is different throughout the whole day. The picture taking with hello kitty line was very long it may look short but I've waited there for almost 1 1/2 hours. But it was worth it to me since I did a cute pose with hello kitty. Also went to their food court and all of the food was super yummy and kawaii! Took of a star but prices since everything was expensive and it was super small. Would I come back again? Maybe not but it's a good one time experience.

Yelp
this is my magic kingdom!!! I died and had gone to heaven!!! Loved it all!! Had the best pics with Hello Kitty, Daniel and friends; the boat ride was GREAT, and the shopping areas were quite outstanding; found items I wouldnt be able to find in the US! Every Sanrio fan has to engage in this pilgrimage!!

Yelp
This place is every Sanrio fan's dream come true. It is so cutely decorated and the souvenirs are normal priced. There are only 2 rides and your picture gets taken on both of them and you can buy them after. The boat ride takes a picture at the end. That pic is $11. The ride through the little rooms takes multiple pictures which you can pic to decorate and print after for $9. Even though it says 4 levels it's more like 2 levels. I would say this place is good for 3-5 hours depending how much you want to do everything. you can get a hello kitty face sticker tattoo for $3. After the show at the end of the day the tree in the middle stays lit up and it's super pretty! We got our tickets on another website and it was less than $20 for an all day ticket!

Yelp
I'm a HUGE Hello Kitty fan and had to make my way to Puroland. Boy..was this a trek from Shibuya and was it worth it...I'm still trying to decide if it was. When I first entered the building..I was so impressed by the scale and detail of it all, You can tell that a lot of thought and detail was put into the building of this place. However, this place is really geared towards children and I think if I had a little one..they would of absolutely loved it. I enjoyed it but I moved rather quickly through the venue. There's a large shop on the main floor that has everything HK that you could possibly think of. Also, I ran into Pekkle...my favorite Sanrio character when I was a kid. That was the highlight of the trip.

Yelp
Had the time of my life here! It doesn't get the perfect score because it is expensive to get in, the photos taken on the My Melody ride and with Hello Kitty are expensive, along with the prices of the gifts in the gift shop. However, the main gift shop is the largest Sanrio store I have seen so far! The price of the Hello Kitty ramen was not bad.

Yelp
Came to Sanrio Puroland many many years ago as well. OMG it's honestly the best place ever! It's basically an indoor Disneyland, except with Sanrio characters. There's many cute little rides and artifacta for you to see. Many kids come as well, and Japanese people dress their kids in the most adorable fashions!! I love the boat ride in Sanrio Puroland, but I honestly thought it was the best part. It reminded me of "It's a small world" ride in Disneyland. For those who are unaware of what this is, it's the one where you sit in a boat that tours you all around Sanrio Puroland while doors open and shut and moving Sanrio characters are on the side. I also loved Hello Kitty houses cause it had Hello Kitty themed washrooms, kitchens, dining rooms. SO SO CUTE. I loved how energetic the people were who dressed up in Cinnamoroll, Hello Kitty costumes. They were awesome and super nice!

Yelp
Super easy to find once you get off the JR. Amazing not too crowded. It's every Sanrio fans dream place. It just looks happy. The rides are not that great but who cares. The end of every ride drops you off at that specific character's store. You basically have to buy something every time or you'll regret it. Loads of stuff that are exclusive for sanrioland. The show was amazing and cute and happy. Not a fan of sitting on the floor though. The food court had so really cute selections. The food was not very good but they looked cute. That's all that matters right? If you are a tourist, bring your passport cause at the end of the day, you can get the taxes your paid on the merchandise back as long as you spend 10000 yen. Not hard to do in such a cute place.
