My wife and I booked a short 4 day holiday at SanSal from our other holiday in Cyprus. |The title “Wow” describes the hotel perfectly. It’s a short walk to Chania old port or Nea Chora heading the other way. |We did not have any issues with parking as there are reserved spots on the road for hotel guests. |Room was spacious, bathroom was beautiful. When your wife says I want this bathroom for home, you know it’s good. |We had a view of the old harbour and lighthouse. Rooftop pool was refreshing and drinks and snacks were top notch.|Breakfast was excellent, eggs made your way, yogurt, fruits, cheeses, meats, freshly squeezed orange juice and nice strong coffee. |Now the reason why we loved this place. |The service and staff. Everyone is welcoming, attentive and very friendly. Front lobby staff, breakfast team, cleaning crew and bartender at the pool made our stay wonderful. Thank You SanSal, you do everything well.

We recently stayed 6 nights at this beautiful place, which feels more like 5 star hotel. The location, services, facilities basically everything that is required to make our stay perfect was at the highest level. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by Alexandra with her beautiful smile and from thereon nothing was too much for the whole team to ensure that we have the most enjoyable stay. This hotel is on the water front and approx 200 meters from the old town. On the other side there is a strip of restaurants (400-500 metes walk) that offer the most amazing seafood. The hotel is so conveniently located, not in the actual old town where driving can be very challenging and also the noise can be a problem as the town is buzzing till early hours, 7 days a week, but a few meters from the old castle's wall. The hotel has designated parking area and the reception takes care of the rental cars if the parking isn't available upon arrival. We personally never had any problems to park right infront of the hotel. The breakfast was amazing. The pool area and open bar located on the roof top are a great place to relax after touristy activities. We had an early flight from Heraklion which is 2h away and Rennata was so kind to arrange the transportation, which took the stress away. Overall, we couldn't be happier with our choice. We had one of the best holidays in Chania and we attribute a big part of this to our great accomadation at SanSal. Thank you Alexandra, Renata, George and the rest of the amazing Team at SanSal for looking after us. We will be back in a heartbeat . Warmest regards from Zhanna and Leon xxx

We stayed for 2 nights in August. In all senses a fantastic experience. Walking distance to old town, free private (limited) parking in front of the hotel. Excellent breakfast, extreme friendly staff, immaculate clean. We had room 601 with a stunning ocean view and marvellous terras. Small but heavenly infinity pool on the top floor. Can only recommend.

Stayed here for 7 nights in August 2025. The hotel's location is perfect. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was immaculate and well tended during our stay. The pool and bar on the roof is a great spot to recharge in the morning, afternoon or evening. Nice beer!

We were at the Sansal for two weeks in June 25 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We booked a room with a sea view and with the hotel located on the sea front what a view it was. Watching the sunset from the balcony was worth every penny, so I strongly recommend that you book a room with a sea view. The view from the roof bar/pool area was equally stunning but, given its small size, somewhat crowded of an evening The room was well sized with efficient air conditioning, which was welcome as Chania was intensely hot due to the Mediterranean heatwave. The room was cleaned on a daily basis, and there was a turn-down service. Breakfast was good with a range of foods suited to the variety of nationalities staying in the hotel. There was, however, no lunch/evening meal, but a limited "snack" menu was available through the roof bar for most of the day and evening. Staff were very helpful and assisted in booking a trip and making restaurant bookings. We did follow their recommendations for good restaurants and had some excellent meals as a result, so I would advise asking for their help, you won't regret it. We had a very late flight home so had to be out of the room by 1100, however, there is a luggage room and we could use a shower and rest facilities in the "business centre " which was a relief. All in all, an excellent hotel in a great location with really helpful and friendly staff. The location of the hotel makes accessing Chania harbour and old town as well as the nearby Nea Chora beach (excellent) really easy as they are both within a short walk. I thoroughly recommend staying here. We will likely be back.

We really enjoyed our week at the Sansal hotel. We had a premier room which was very spacious, light and clean, with a large and comfortable bed. We did feel that more hangers in the wardrobe, a towel rail in the bathroom and a better located mirror (in a bright space rather than near the wardrobe) would have been useful but a lack of these things didn’t cause any problems. ||Every single staff member we met was really friendly and helpful. We enjoyed seeing the same faces at breakfast and then up at the rooftop pool bar where they made excellent cocktails. ||As the rooftop pool area is small we had been worried that we’d struggle to get a sunbed, but we didn’t have any problems. People seemed to come and go during the day so even if a bed wasn’t free when we arrived, we never waited long for one to free up. Only two of the beds are in the shade and it does get very hot up there, but the pool is very refreshing with beautiful views. ||We spent two days at Neo Chora beach. It’s a short walk from the hotel and there are plenty of sunbeds for hire and restaurants to go to at lunchtime. We went to one on the jetty near the fishing harbour and the food was very good (Mikrolimonia). ||The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the old town - just a short walk to a really wide selection of shops, bars and restaurants. We avoided the more touristy restaurants on the harbour and had some lovely meals in the back streets of the Old Town where we felt there was more atmosphere. ||With regards to the building work next door, this didn’t really bother us. Once the music is playing in the pool bar you don’t really hear it. ||Thanks to George and all of the team for a great stay.

The stay at this hotel was by the book. A welcoming receptionist, welcome drink. The rooms are spacious, clean. The bed is comfortable. They have all of the amenities in the bathroom and even bathrobes. The view is amazing as well. The balcony is spacious. There is also a swimming pool with the best view you can dream of. Breakfast is exceptional with variety of food, good coffee of your choice and eggs. The staff is also very nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Chania and I would definitely visit again.

Excellent, clean and friendly hotel. Reception are very accommodating. Beautiful rooftop pool and bar with amazing views. Location is perfect too, short walk to Chania, and further enough away to not hear lots of noise at night. We will definitely stay again.
