We were at the Sansal for two weeks in June 25 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We booked a room with a sea view and with the hotel located on the sea front what a view it was. Watching the sunset from the balcony was worth every penny, so I strongly recommend that you book a room with a sea view. The view from the roof bar/pool area was equally stunning but, given its small size, somewhat crowded of an evening The room was well sized with efficient air conditioning, which was welcome as Chania was intensely hot due to the Mediterranean heatwave. The room was cleaned on a daily basis, and there was a turn-down service. Breakfast was good with a range of foods suited to the variety of nationalities staying in the hotel. There was, however, no lunch/evening meal, but a limited "snack" menu was available through the roof bar for most of the day and evening. Staff were very helpful and assisted in booking a trip and making restaurant bookings. We did follow their recommendations for good restaurants and had some excellent meals as a result, so I would advise asking for their help, you won't regret it. We had a very late flight home so had to be out of the room by 1100, however, there is a luggage room and we could use a shower and rest facilities in the "business centre " which was a relief. All in all, an excellent hotel in a great location with really helpful and friendly staff. The location of the hotel makes accessing Chania harbour and old town as well as the nearby Nea Chora beach (excellent) really easy as they are both within a short walk. I thoroughly recommend staying here. We will likely be back.
