Google
I discovered this place a long time ago through Reels, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The ramen broth is incredibly rich, the noodles are firm and chewy, and the toppings are generous. I also recommend trying the fried chicken appetizer—it’s perfectly crispy and really tasty. The restaurant is clean and well-kept. Aside from the slightly narrow staircase leading downstairs, there’s nothing to complain about. Overall, I highly recommend this spot!

Google
We ducked into this Sensotei location for a quick bite and we left with our hunger fully and pleasantly sated. The service was friendly and super efficient. The appetizers and main meals appeared very, very quickly. The gyoza was well pan-fried and tasty. The fried chicken pieces were tender and cooked just right. They were light and flavourful. The two ramen dishes we ordered were just right, and they certainly hit the spot and took care of the ramen cravings.

Google
Came here with my (now ex) boyfriend and the place is super nice! Was greeted upon entry and staff let us know that they were gonna close at 9pm which was no issue. The service was great but the noodles were even better! You get to choose thin/thick noodles and the soup was super yummy :)

Google
My friend and I wanted Ramen, so we found this cute place on Dundas called Sansotei Ramen. As soon as we arrived, the service was friendly and warm, as if we were regulars. Then we noticed that it got full, and even that, the food came fast, and it looked spectacular!! We took our time to eat and visit, and the servers were so nice that we never felt the pressure to pay and go. My Ramen was delicious and an excellent presentation!! If you are in a hurry or want a pleasant visit over dinner, this is your place!!

Google
Consistently delicious - Tonkotsu Black with Thick Noodles is the way to go! I love a jammy ramen egg packed with a flavourful broth. Sansotei always hits the spot!

Google
Stopped by during a workday for a quick lunch and it was perfect for that! 🍜 It was busy, but we were served right away. This was actually my first ever ramen experience at a restaurant, as I don't normally go for ramen. Things to know: - broth is homemade and incredibly delicious 🤤 I could have enjoyed it on its own! - you can choose from thick or thin noodles (not a huge difference in width) - not a good spot for big groups or private conversations as tables are very close to one another but good for a spot for 2 people I ordered the tokatsu black and my friend got the spicy tantan - we both loved it and was very filling! I had to pack the rest of mine to go because I was satisfying full.😄 I would definitely come back here when looking for something to warm my tummy, especially this winter!

Google
very impressed with the level of service and excellent taste of the Ramen. tiny place in the heart of Toronto but wow, I’m super impressed. Highly recommend to try this place out without any reservations. Be ready to experience, world-class service, and very authentic taste of Ramen. Keep it up guys and a huge shout out to the owner for hiring and training. Excellent customer service skills to the staff.

Google
Rich strong broth and so delicious. Service was fast and friendly. She was able to answer questions about the menu and give suggestions on dishes. The selection isn't as much as other Ramen places but plenty of variety in the dishes. I ordered the tonkotsu black and my friend ordered the vegetarian with egg. The noodles came fast, was hot, noodles were chewy, meat was soft and yummy, the broth was full of flavor. I was so full coming out, shouldn't have ate the whole thing but was too good to waste. Will come again on a empty stomach to try other dishes. I tried the vegetarian dish with no soup and it was good too. A little spicy for me but different. The food is a lot and was so full waking out. I do think the $22 is a little over my budget but this dish is worth a try.

Yelp
Rich broth enhances the ramen noodles and meat, really evident. I heard it's a top 3 ramen in the area and I believe it. Solid and comforting. I appreciated a fairly small menu with shared items and they also offer the choice between thin or thick noodles. One bad thing to consider is disposing of waste, specifically leftover broth. It seems troublesome to dispose of soup in the garbage, I mean hot liquid and plastic doesn't mix well. Even if closing the container, it's not super secure and can leak or pop open from hitting the bottom (or getting hit by other items). Tonkotsu+ - it's like a meat lovers ramen! I was expecting the meatballs to be mid but they were actually compact, dense, and flavorful. Not over cooked and soft either.

Yelp
Ok so keep in mind this is 'mall' food. I craved for a quick bowl of warm ramen soup. Didn't want a sit down meal but a quick on the go. I opted for their black tonkotsu ramen with thin noodles. The noodles had a nice slight chew, egg had a runny centre, and the pork charsui was soft and tender. Broth was tasty and not overly salty. Other sansotei locations I've tried resulted in mushy noodles, tough charsui, and hard boiled egg. Overall this location was pretty good compared to their other locations.

Yelp
Oct 2024 Just around the corner of the Doubletree Hotel Toronto, it was our first meal in the city. Seating- place is typical size for a ramen place. There were 2 booths, 2 chairs facing the window entrance and about 5-6 tables that can seat 4-6 people. Our one table was shared with another couple with the space separated by standing menus. I ordered the tonkatsu black with extra chaisu and d my wife got miso black. Added mango cheesecake for dessert. The bowl size I would size it as small (only size they have) and the option of thin or thick noodles. We opted the thin. The broth had a great aroma, good presentation. It definitely addressed my craving. Being picky, it wasn't the best ramen but I wasn't disappointed at all. Only reason I gave a 4 is because of that. Staff friendliness and service was a 5 star. The mango cheesecake was delish. My wife liked it. Would I go back? For sure because of how close it is to my hotel but I probably won't on this trip just because there's so many food places to try.

Yelp
Small location for this chain, but very conveniently located between the AGO and Eaton Center. It is hard to get a table around peak hours, especially if you are in a group due to the limited seating. Washrooms are downstairs, inaccessible. Server very nice, and fast, expect to have your food in less than 10 minutes. Consistently great ramen, but also nothing outstanding. I got the tonkotsu black ramen for lunch, with thin noodles to better soak up the broth. Each component of the ramen is decent - noodles, soft boiled egg, chasu pork belly, wood ear mushrooms, and broth. There is a drizzle of oil which adds a smokey/burnt taste to this dish. Price is fair for what you get.

Yelp
I was in Toronto for business and was looking for something a little different. I love ramen and saw that Sansotei was a few blocks away from my hotel. DONE! I was on my way....... So glad that I picked Sansotei because it is quality. I started with the Gyoza and was very happy with my selection. For my main, I ordered the Tonkotsu Black. Great flavor and portions. I always order extra pork and this time was no different. I really enjoyed my meal and had great service. This is a cozy place and would think that there is always a line. I came early on a weekday with no issues. Please support this business.

Yelp
Best broth I've had a casual restaurant. Very solid ramen and fair portion for the price. The service is 11/10 very very fast and very friendly. Aside from their one vegetarian dish the rest of the dishes are pork broth and pork based they can not do chicken as meat or broth. If you are kosher or halal you might have to stick to their appetizers. The restaurant is clean and has a washroom. Located in the heart of downtown so paid parking might be tricky, I would recommend ubering or taking the subway. It's close to Eaton Center . This is a chain so if this one is busy there are others around the city that you can go to.
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
The Tonkotsu has an almost buttery smooth consistency to the broth that makes it very easy and satisfying to drink. Each ingredient plays into the whole dish quite well. Yuzu cheesecake was a gem
google avatar

Joeann S.

Yelp
We took advantage of the buy one get one free deal on Uber eats and ordered the black tonkatsu ramen to go. I was impressed that the takeout tasted just as good as dine in! The cha siu was charred to perfection which really makes this ramen place stand out! Pick up was really quick and easy.

Yelp
Wanting something quick and not too heavy for dinner, we had bookmarked this restaurant for ramen and gyozas. We initially wanted the fried chicken but the reviews on yelp weren't that great and I knew a bowl of ramen would not fill me up so we took a chance on this appetizer and surprisingly they were really really good as sometimes the skin can be hard but these were cooked the way I like them with the temperature of the filling inside just right. Service was quick and our server was attentive. In and out under an hour during dinner time. Like most small restaurants on this block, dining area is small. Oh and beware walking down the stairs to the restrooms as the "pitch" of the stairs is very steep. If you don't understand what I'm trying to say - you will see should you go there!
google avatar

Emma F.

Yelp
Solid ramen spot with good portion sizes. I had the tomato ramen and really enjoyed it.
google avatar

Yelp
There's only 6-7 tables inside which were all full when we got there so we walked outside to look for another place. The waitress came out after us & said one table was getting ready to leave. I'm so glad she did! Best ramen I ever ate! The Tonkotsu Black is wonderful! Tender pork & savory broth. Daughter got Vegetarian Mazeman which she destroyed within minutes. Our more timid diner got the Shoyu & it was just right for her. Wait staff is SO nice! If you're looking for a good noodle place & are overwhelmed by the options, just go here & wait for a table. It's worth it!

Yelp
My family and I stopped by after passing this place on the way back to our hotel, and we are so glad we did! The staff was extremely helpful, assisting us in clearing some room when they noticed my mom was in a wheelchair. The Hokkaido style fried chicken was delicious and super crunchy. I had the black garlic ramen with the thin noodles. I rarely finish the broth when eating ramen because at most places, it's too salty to drink it all. But here the balance was perfect and every single of one us drained our bowls. Lastly, we tried the pear sake after seeing the poster on the wall. It was a perfect addition to the meal and a refreshing drink after walking around in the heat all day.

Nick E.

Yelp
Called and was told tables were available, come down. 10 minutes later brought the whole family and was told the wait is about 20 minutes. They also had no problem rushing us out the door and basically find someplace else as the last meals would be a stretch for us to get. What a terrible experience. Don't tell people to rush in, then kick them to the curb. It's common courtesy
google avatar

Sarah T.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the flavor of the Tonkotsu Black and the smoky flavor of the meat. Spicy tan tan was also ok, but could have been spicier (the dish was hardly spicy at all).
google avatar

Zita Claire M.

Yelp
I always love getting the Tonkotsu black ramen! It's so good, flavourful and the garlic oil really tops it off! The bowl size you get is definitely more than enough for one person and it's great for the price you pay. The space is a little small but a perfect cozy place to go with friends and grab some ramen

Yelp
My Fav Ramen Spot in all of GTA, I've been coming to Sansotei for years now. Sansotei's classic menu does not play around! I love the attention to detail each bowl of ramen has, The noodles in certain ramen dish can be labeled as "thin" but its completely different based on which broth you choose. The Cha-siu its in its own level. I seriously can't find any Cha-Siu around GTA as tender and flavorful, but yet not greasy and heavy as Sansotei makes it. It's pork belly feels like its been pressure cooked before, and torched at the end. The fat being pressure cooked, it chars differently. The Broths are light, you don't get that fat film at the top. Allowing you to make sure you can taste the light qualities of the egg, and the vegetables. There's not one Ramen on the menu I don't like. It's a wonderful pleasurable experience every time I sit down for a hearty ramen bowl. I hope to see more menu additions in the future.

Yelp
If you know me at all, I am a ramen addict! So when there is one nearby that has good ratings, count me in! Sansotei Ramen was a tad bit of a jaunt from my hotel, but was worth it based on the reviews! Of course, expect the standard small ramen house, communal seating in the middle, but little to no seating outside of that. I could care less, but do not expect to stretch out here and or to have the children strolling around. Another aspect to consider is there is always a line, but they take your name and give you an estimated waiting time, so you can walk around the local neighborhood while you wait. When it comes to menu, very standard Japanese Ramen style menu, apps and ramen! I noticed a Tonkatsu Black, which peeked my interest, but it also helps many suggested it as well. Ramen was fairly quick as expected, which is great. After adding an additional egg, I was ready to go! Rating for it would fall between a 7 and a half and 8 out of 10. While I have had much better, it completely hit the spot on a cold Toronto night along with my green tea. Price wise, do not expect the break the bank here and when it comes to customer service, its quick and polite (Win). Would gladly revisit if I return to Toronto anytime soon.

Yelp
I ordered on Ritual during lunch, and pick-up was quick and easy. There are multiple broths to choose from and appetizers to choose from. I got the Tonkotsu Black - the broth is creamy and rich, while the noodles are fresh.

Yelp
Best ramen in town! Our server had the best energy. She was so fun and energetic. Her recommendations were on point. We ordered: Negi Shoga Gyoza - Pan fried pork dumplings with ginger and green onion Tonkatsu - Chashu, Black Fungus, Egg, Green Onion - thin noods Spicy TanTan - Chashu, Ground Pork, Egg, Bamboo Shoot, Chili **limited quantity in a day - thick noods Skip the Negi Shoga Gyoza and just get the regular gyoza. The ginger and green onion were unnecessary toppings for the gyoza unless you're a ginger, green onion fan. We ended up not eating the ginger and green onion. The gyoza itself was delicious! Oh boy! Both ramen were so good! The broth was so flavorful. Meat was tasty and perfectly cooked. Both thin and thick noodles were chewy and silky. Spice level of Spicy TanTan was on point! 10/10 - recommend!

Chris Z.

Yelp
My tounge is having a mid-life crisis after eating here, all thanks to the broth from the Ramen. Drink alcohol? Won't go away. Trying to eat other stuff? The taste will not leave. It's too good.
google avatar

Dana L.

Yelp
We came here for dinner and was seated right away. I'm from Bay Area, California where there is ton of ramen places. This place was definitely comparable if not better. The flavor was less complex and felt more pure in terms of the tonkotsu flavor. They give a lot of food, and the egg isn't extra! The sauce they put on top is slightly sweet, but it matches well with the saltiness of the broth and pork. Overall, very satisfied with the meal.
google avatar

Jonathan N.

Yelp
Excellent service and the Ramen dish recommended to me was really good. Fresh tasting and wonderful flavor of the broth and pork belly, so good.
google avatar

Will T.

Yelp
Best ramen in downtown Toronto! The spicy tantan is constantly sold out but that's why you need to go early! We usually pair this with the gyoza (fried chicken pieces) which are juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. There's always a line up outside but it's worth the 10-15 min wait. Pro tip: there's only 2 four-seater booths, which are incredibly cozy. Pro tip 2: ask for mayo with your gyoza, it's a delicious combo
google avatar

Bart Z.

Yelp
We were at the Eaton Center and in the mood for some Ramen, this is the spot! The food here did not disappoint!! We tried both the tonkotsu and shoyh ramen, full of flavor and the noodles had perfect texture. The service was quick and excellent as well. Its a small spot with limited tables, so i can definitely see it getting full quickly during busy hours. Wouldnt be a bad idea to make a reservation.
google avatar

Rea H.

Yelp
Definitely better ramen spots to get in Toronto. It kind of tastes like old pork that's been sitting out for a while. I used to go all the time because it was right next to my work and every time I thought "hey it can't be that bad" and it was lol. It's a chain so maybe their other locations are good but please stay away from the union food court location!
google avatar

Yi-Rou L.

Yelp
It is the top three ramen place in Toronto. The broth is with rich tonkotsu flavour, and the meat is so tender. If you're a spice lover, they have tantan ramen for you to experience as well. Zakki is juicy and well-marinated. They have enough seats and service with fast speed so you won't wait too long during lunchtime, the staff are all welcoming with patience and smile, highly recommended!
google avatar

Lily H.

Yelp
Not a review of our experience at the restaurant, considering we never made it to being able to eat. As soon as we walked in, we were shooed back out because apparently they have to check your covid vacc outside before you even step in. Then we were made to show our IDs and our vacc proof at the same time because the girl said she had bad memory and needed to check our DOB - never had someone check that before anywhere? Then finally once we were inside, we weren't allowed to sit even though our 3rd party was parking the car and would be in 5 minutes. We left and took our business elsewhere. Understand needing precautions, but this was overboard.
google avatar

Wai C.

Yelp
Small and mighty place!! The food is consistently great, the staff are awesome. Fast service.
google avatar

Charles H.

Yelp
Casual ramen place. Pretty decent overall and worth trying. There are lots of options in the area though, so they could do something to stand out more.
google avatar

Connie W.

Yelp
Place is quite small, they did a good job with the wall of mirrors for illusion of space. Tonkotsu black garlic oil - I liked everything, the broth, the noodles, the soft boiled egg, pork meat, and veggies.
google avatar

Donald S.

Yelp
Another day, another bowl of ramen. This time Sansotei Ramen by way of Toronto, which actually happens to have a lot of Ramen shops to choose from. This would be a good time for my disclaimer: I eat A LOT of Ramen, so these tend to get a little more critical than others. Sansotei makes a decent bowl. The broth in the Tonkatsu ramen is excellent. Full of depth and flavor. To be honest this might be one of the better bases I've had. The rest of the bowl however fell short. Good noodles provide a good chew. The noodles are extra thin, so they can easily be cooked a little past done, like this was. The pork belly (which I ordered extra of because there's is nothing better than good pork belly), was disappointing. Dry, not much fat, and inconsistent. I certainly can't be mad at two eggs per bowl though! Overall still a satisfying bowl of ramen at a fair price. It's worth noting the service here is top notch.
google avatar

Sandy D.

Yelp
Considering how we had to wait in line to eat here, I had high expectations for this place! Unfortunately, NYC has better ramen than here. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. The only advantage that Sansotei has over other ramen places I've tried is that they gave me TWO half eggs for my order. It's a steal. The ramen broth hit me well initially, but after really sipping it, it just tasted like straight salty soup. The noodles also did not absorb the broth well enough, and the pork meat was very dry. I've had better ramen, without any waiting time too. But I did enjoy the kind service.
google avatar

Epic M.

Yelp
The best ramen I've ever had. I ordered the Tonkotsu Black Ramen, and every bite seemed to be more delicious than the last. The noodles are cooked to perfection, same with the tender, melt-in-your-mouth pork and the soft boiled eggs. The cold tea was amazing, as well. The staff are incredibly nice and the service is quick, especially considering the mind-blowing quality of the food. I will make a point to come here again when I have the opportunity.
google avatar

Nerylle B.

Yelp
Very good ramen! Worth the try and money :) The service was fast and good, they recommended me what to get based on what I like. The ambiance is like a normal food court, it would be nice if they have the option to serve it a ramen bowl instead of the disposable ones.
google avatar

Bev K.

Yelp
Is it me or have a lot of ramen joints popped up over the last year or so? Whatever it may be, I always find myself going back to Sansotei. This is my first time back in several months and I went straight for the tonkotsu (black fungus, egg, and green onion) thin noodle ramen. It's exactly how I remember it tasting-- on par with the stuff you can get in Japan. It wasn't busy Saturday at noon but be forewarned that the place gets really busy with line ups out the door during peak dinner hours
google avatar

Karina U.

Yelp
Quick and efficient Wings fall off the bone but no sauce Pork could be juicier Broth delicious This place should be a go to spot in cold and rainy weather. Seating is tight (communal) but if you're alone then it's great for eavesdropping on entertaining conversations your dining neighbors are having about dates they've been on. Alternatively, if you want to have a quiet and private conversation then this place isn't for you. They're quick and efficient. Staff is pleasant. The wings appetizer falls off the bone but has no sauce and isn't super flavorful, in my opinion. The pork in the ramen could be juicier but the broth was delicious. Not too bad but not amazing either. Solid middle of the road place.
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
Delicious tomato ramen from Sansotei. I usually prefer the thin noodles, and I especially loved how tomato forward the broth was. The egg and toppings were delicious as always.
google avatar

Kat J.

Yelp
This is my favourite ramen place in the city. The black garlic one is unreal. I have a hard time deciding what to take a bit of next. The noodles are the perfect texture. The egg is always cooked perfectly, the pork MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH and the broth is such a flavour bomb! I just moved closer to them so I can't wait to order them even more!
google avatar

Katelyn P.

Yelp
After reading some great reviews, my friend and I decided to try this spot during our visit. All in all, a little underwhelming! Solid bowl of ramen with lots of flavor, but nothing special and a little too salty for my taste. We went on a chilly day in November so the line wasn't too long, but based on other reviews it seems the lines can get pretty lengthy. I'd recommend keeping your parties under 4 since it is a cozy space.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
Place: The sansotei ramen is pretty good and especially busy. It feels like a long strip of seats and ramen lovers come in and out. Service: The service is pretty good as the workers all say hi and bye everytime someone comes in or leaves. Despite them being super busy they make sure you are satisfied. So that is a plus! Food/price: I really enjoyed the food. The noodles and broth is pretty good and the dishes look appetizing. I think the price is worth to the taste. I got the miso ramen and I want to go back and eat it again. Audience: Many college students come by and honestly I would go by myself and enjoy a bowl of quality ramen. Recommend/tips? I would stop by times that are not near lunch or dinner times. Come by to the off times so your wait is shorter.
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
We ordered two bowls of the black, and damn was it good. It's the riot flavor every good bowl of ramen should be, with perfect texture on their noodles and pork that melts. It's everything. Prices were reasonable, service was fantastic.
google avatar

Nhu N.

Yelp
I was a little worried about eating here since the menu quite short, but the ramen was absolutely delicious! I think this is my new favourite ramen spot. Luckily there was no wait the first time I went- the second time I waited about 10 minutes for a 4 person table. Not bad or anything, but this place is definitely popular. The inside of the shop is quite cramped unfortunately and the walkway is narrow. I ordered the Tonkotsu Black without black fungus, onion and scallion with thick noodles. It was super tasty! The broth was very good, especially with the garlic oil. The garlic oil and broth's flavour clung to the noodles well and even the pork was quite good. At first I thought the pork looked dry, but it was actually very tasty and not as chewy as I thought it would be! The egg was also very tasty, yolk was nice and runny. Overall very good! I liked eating at this place a lot! I just wish the place was bigger, but the food is top notch. Can't wait to come again :)
google avatar

Malia Y.

Yelp
I ordered the shoyu ramen with thick noodles based on the server's recommendation. Pretty quick and seamless service with ordering and getting to eat. Broth is flavorful, not too salty, not greasy either. Portion size seemed appropriate. Downside: the pork. Little tougher to chew. Bland when eaten by itself. I have had better, but this is pretty delicious.
google avatar

Slu L.

Yelp
Did not order the thick noodle. The thin noodle texture is very good. Soup is ok not too impressed.
google avatar

Shuang W.

Yelp
The five stars are not enough for their slow cooked chicken wings, it's so tasty, right amount of saltiness with a little hint of spice, I still dream about it after my last visit there 5 days ago. Whether you are hungry or not, I bet u can finish the entire dish in 5 minutes, BY URSELF. The ramen, on the other hand, are little bit mediocre for me. Its definitely better than food court ramen, but it's definitely not worth the long wait. Also the fact that I didn't see corn on the add-on list just make me extra sad cuz that's my must have on my ramen. When you want to go, make sure u wear enough layers, cuz no matter how cold it is outside they would let u form a line on the street. It is freezing and the line can be quite long. So be prepared.
google avatar

Kayla S.

Yelp
You can never go wrong with ordering the tonkatsu black. You have the option of thick vs thin noodles. I would recommend the thick ones. Hardy and chewy. Super flavourful broth is what matters most. The black garlic is so strong too. A little roasted smokiness added and the pork is melty like butter. This a always a strong recommendation for ramen.
google avatar

Donna S.

Yelp
A solid bowl of ramen noodles made with perfect noodles and salty, tasty broth. I usually get the shio ramen and it is among the best I've had. I also enjoy their gyozas, homemade and not deep fried. Service is quick and friendly. The space at the Dundas location in downtown Toronto is small and narrow and so there is often a wait. They are opening a new location 5 min from where we live and I look forward to it!!!
google avatar

Monica C.

Yelp
Delicious ramen! I ordered the tonkotsu black ramen (tonkotsu with black garlic oil- a more roasted flavor) with thin noodles. I would have preferred to get the thick noodles or straight up egg noodles I think, but it was still great ramen. The broth was flavorful, the portion was good, and it came out quickly. They have good customer service as well, and my waitress was super nice! She gave me her recommendations. Overall, great ramen for a typical price- delicious, flavorful, and quick! I'd come back again.
google avatar

Bunkeath M.

Yelp
Small place but service and the ramen was good. Very friendly staff. Got black Tonkatsu with thick noodles and the broth was really good. I wish the chashu was thicker though because it was two thinly sliced but that's kind of normal in most places.
