After reading some poor reviews, I was a little tentative about coming here but my husband booked before I could comment. Anyway I needn’t have worried. The hotel is perfectly located, spotlessly clean with really comfortable modern rooms. The reception staff are quiet but check-in was smooth and they were perfectly pleasant. This hotel is just 20 min taxi journey from the airport (£22) and 2 min away from La Rambla. The December weather was kind and walking through the Christmas markets and lights a joy. The little restaurants immediately outside the hotel are a must! We ventured into the main city to eat but wished we’d eater there from the beginning as food elsewhere a little disappointing. La Bellvitja was absolutely perfect! Food, wine, ambience and literally on the hotels doorstep. All in all I cannot fault the hotel! I really recommend it and will definitely be back!

The walls are paper thin. You can hear anything anyone does in any of the rooms. So if you plan on sleeping at a normal time during your stay this is not the hotel for you. Location is great though due to how close it was to the metro. Wouldn’t recommend the front facing rooms again because of the noise issues for anyone with early flights.

We chose the hotel because it was close to La Rambla, El Mercado Boquería and Plaza Catalunya. I'd read reviews complaining about noise etc I brought some earplugs just in case, but we were so tired at night after sightseeing all day we slept straight through till morning. Our room was clean and comfortable and we had a balcony overlooking the square. We used the coffee shop across the road in the morning to get coffees and pastries before setting off to catch the buses around the city. The metro station is really close by as well. I'd definitely stay here again.

I am genuinely baffled by the positive reviews this hotel has had.|Location: its located off a side street off las ramblas. Las ramblas has a good end and a bad end, this is at the bad end with lots of homeless people, drug users and beggars. There is a hostel Right next to it which attracts this type of person.||Hotel: this hotel had the potential to be lively as the building itself is really nice but its badly neglected. The reception seats are ripped and worn, dead flowers in a vase on the desk. The rooms ate sloppily decorated and have worn furniture. The rooms aren't particularly clean. The staff do a quick surface clean but when you look theres mold in the bathroom and the floors in corners etc are dirty. The review claims they also have a mini bar, is an empty fridge is a mini bar then they certainly do. Theres no tea or coffee facilities. The walls are paper thin. ||Breakfast: very poor. Some yogurts, halved oranges, croissants Nd anaemic looking scrambled eggs. ||Staff: rude and unwelcoming .||Summary: this is NOT a 3 star hotel its a 2 at best. I would pay the extra and get a nicer hotel in the nicer end of las ramblas. ||On a positive the little restaurant and bar opposite called bellvitje was lovely and theres a nice bakery next door.

I’ve traveled to Barcelona many times and have stayed in some truly spectacular hotels throughout the Gothic Quarter — elegant, pristine, and full of charm. But this time, I made the grave mistake of booking this hotel from hell for just one night before heading to Sitges. One night was more than enough. From the moment I checked in, everything unraveled. The first room they handed me had a sink clogged with hair — and not a stray strand or two, but a full, disgusting blockage. The phone in the room did not connect to the front desk so I had to go downstairs to notify front desk for help. The gentleman’s first suggestion was that I “just push it down with my finger to unlock the drain.” Only after I refused did they send someone up. What followed was pure chaos. I sat on the bed as the maintenance man practically disassembled the entire bathroom — pulling out clumps of hair, water splashing all over the floor, the smell of damp mildew filling the room. That was it for me. I packed my bags immediately and demanded a new room. The next one wasn’t much better: two twin beds awkwardly shoved together. But the service itself was the real disaster. I had a guest come to visit that day. Instead of doing the simplest thing imaginable — calling my room to let me know my guest had arrived after the guest asked to be connected to my room — the woman at the front, with short blond hair refused and left them waiting in the lobby for nearly an hour with a dead phone. No courtesy call, no attempt to reach me. My guest finally had to borrow a stranger’s phone from across the street just to contact me. When I confronted the front desk, the woman there — unprofessional to the point of rudeness, possibly even racist in her demeanor — simply shrugged. No apology, no explanation, not even the faintest trace of concern. She demanded passports, avoided eye contact, and carried on as if basic hospitality was beneath her. If you value service, cleanliness, or even basic human decency, stay far, far away from this place. There are countless hotels in Barcelona and GQ that treat their guests with outmost respect and love and provide a clean, welcoming environment. This one? It’s a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

If you loving hearing the entire conversation your neighbors are having at 2 am, then definitely stay here! 0/5 stars honestly. The walls are paper thin. We could hear full on conversations from people next door. Heels stomping and even their phones ringing (crazy) We called the front desk at 2 am to ask if there was anything they could do and they said they asked us to step outside, get their door number, and call them back. Shortly after, we heard the neighbors phone ringing (also crazy) Nothing changed. Horrible stay. Only good thing about this place is the location. Would not recommend.

Fantastic location, within walking distance of the main areas. We stayed in the penthouse room and really enjoyed it. The room was modern and full of natural light - clean, with a bath and shower. We arrived late in the evening, so having a 24/7 reception was extremely helpful. Friendly staff.

Clean and comfortable, good soundproofing, close to La Rambla, but the lack of service makes it way overpriced at nearly Euro 200/night. No one to help with luggage, no laundry service, little enthusiasm from the daytime front desk crew. Service at breakfast was good, though food selection was limited and also overpriced. Maid service was good and efficient.
