10 Things to See and Do in Girona, Spain (Updated 2025)
"Founded in the 11th century on the outskirts of town as a nunnery, the Monastery of Saint Daniel mixes Romanesque and Gothic architecture with later additions; although the abbey is no longer in use, I can still visit the church and cloister, see Saint Daniel’s sepulcher (rumored to hold his remains), and enjoy the surrounding Valley of Sant Daniel with its lush green spaces and natural springs." - Matthew Kepnes
Very historic place, more than 1,000 years old. You can stay here and enjoy the monacal life, if you want. Cuisine is very basic, though. Don't expect anything fancy. But that's the purpose is the experience, I think.

A peaceful place to visit and explore. The walk from center of Girona to here is a really nice way to see the town and get familiar with the area. We truly enjoyed our time in Girona and this was a special part of our experience.
