This is a terrific property in almost all respects. Fabulous location on the beach, fair price, extremely friendly staff, great food at the restaurant, BIG rooms, nice fitness center. One of the best stays I have had in a while and was dreaming about coming back. If I had to nitpick the service in the restaurant was sometimes oddly slow at breakfast and it’s not the most “modern” decor (everything is clean and pleasant though). Really unless you have a deep need to stay somewhere else I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

Location is perfect, the building is stunning, our room was clean, comfortable, and the staff members were amazing! Every person we spoke with, from front valet, front desk, restaurant, cleaning, were so welcoming, and lovely. |The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating with open views of the ocean. Delicious flatbread and pasta. |We’re local & never stayed here before. We had to cancel our thanksgiving plans last minute and Santa Barbara Inn saved the day. We can’t wait to stay here again.

The hotel is beautifully maintained and just across the street from the ocean. Our room was amazing (Room 400)—a large bedroom with an adjoining sunlit living area, that opened up to a rap around deck. The staff were all so friendly yet very professional. The hotel’s location was perfect for us—one mile away from busy State Street—a quick trip by car or an easy walk along the shoreline. The room was so quiet with no street noise whatsoever. It all made for a very enjoyable stay. I highly recommend the Santa Barbara Inn.

We had not stayed at the SB Inn since before the 2016 renovation. What a beautiful property it has become. Everything was clean and still seems new. Room was very spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Loved sitting on the balcony having a glass of wine. Restaurant and bar were lively. Staff was friendly, and nice to have a noon checkout as the standard checkout time!

The hotel is gorgeous. Lovely furnishings and large lush orchid and flowering succulent arrangements all over the hotel. I really loved as I passed by those well cared for plants in colorful ceramic planters on all furniture. |Our room was large with a very comfortable bed and chairs and couch for reading and lounging. I liked that every room had a patio and the TV had numerous channels to watch and stream many platforms at no extra charge. |The restaurant served delicious meals. And the servers were attentive and seemed happy to be there. That is important for guests. ||The setting right across from the beach and park was wonderful to view and walk daily. ||All in all, we were so pleased and plan to return.

The room was spotless. Everyone we interacted with including checking in at the front desk, the waiters at the restaurant, the bartender and housekeeping were all professional, friendly and courteous. The ocean view from our patio was spectacular. Overall our experience at the hotel was very enjoyable. The heated floor in the bathroom was an unexpected and welcome experience.

Google
Great hotel, large kink room, luxury robes and slippers. Big 2 sinks bathroom. Located right across from the ocean, beautiful views from the pool and restaurant. Cones: Parking is $28, we parked on the street right by the hotel for free. 30 minutes walk to the pier and downtown. No coffee in the room! They offer complimentary until 8:30 am, but when we came down at 7:30 the container was empty and nobody was in the lobby.

By far one of the worst travel experiences I have ever had. Booked through Amex hotels and fine resorts thinking it was part of their benefits (following up with an investigation through Amex as well). I was rudely informed by the desk clerk that wasn’t the case. I was surprised and disappointed. Disappointment didn’t stop there. The bed was sagging and hard at the same time. I could not sleep till after 6 AM. I woke with hives, thanks to some problem in the room and asked for a late checkout so I could go to the ER. Again, the desk clerk (different one) was incredibly rude. I am now carting my bags and my sick body to the ER to hopefully fly out this evening from SB. I’m disgusted, sick, and tired. These people are not only terrible at their jobs, they’re also incredibly uncompassionate. I hope these folks have a great Christmas. No doubt they’ve ruined Christmas for many others.

Yelp
My husband Matt B. is from Santa Barbara, and we've spent the last year and a half renovating his childhood home. Now that it's finally finished, we can stop paying for hotels every time we want the kids to see their grandpa. The Santa Barbara Inn was our final stop on our long tour of the city's mid-tier hotels, and it was definitely one of our favorites. The hotel was built in 1960 and renovated between 2013 and 2016. I don't know what the place looked like before, but this was a beautiful restoration job, with a lot of thought and money behind it. Both the lobby and our room were quite lovely, well styled with a pretty high level of finish. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean, and we had a great balcony, where we were able to hang out after the kids went to sleep. We only stayed for one night, on our younger son's third birthday, on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. A lot of Santa Barbara hotels won't let you book for one night during a long weekend, so this was another point in the Inn's favor. If you're looking for a nice but somewhat reasonable place to stay in this area, the Santa Barbara Inn is one of my top two recommendations (the other being the Harbor View Inn). It offers more character and better value than most of the competition.

Yelp
Fantastic location right across the street from the beach & 1 mile walk to Sterns wharf. Great price for the location & clean comfortable room. Nice friendly staff. Valet parking $25 a day in their lot or you could park on the street for free but valet is the way to go. Housekeeping was very efficient too. Large comfortable room with desk, sitting area with 2 chairs, table with 2 chairs, desk & balcony. Huge bathroom too. Decor could be updated a bit. We booked directly through the hotel & received $25 per day credit in their Convivo restaurant for breakfast. Free coffee in the lobby from 5:30-8:30am. Overall a nice stay & we will be back.

Yelp
We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the SBI. We had a 1-bedroom king suite on the 2nd floor. The room was immaculately clean! The bedding was comfortable with a four poster bed, two TVs, seating area and 2 balconies. The bathroom was large with double sinks. The decor is kind of a British Colonialism with wood, bamboo and wicker furniture and brocade covered furniture. Though the style felt outdated the furniture itself was in very good condition. We had breakfast at Convivo, the onsite restaurant. The food was good - recommend the frittata and avocado toast! We did valet for $25 night which is very affordable compared to the Kimpton Canary (which was the other hotel I was eyeing). I also love the location. It's across the street from the beach and a short walk (1.5 miles one way) to Stearns Warf, Funk Zone and lots of restaurants. The only minus was both nights I was awoken by a loud noise sounded like pipes or the loud washing machine. It happened around 3-4 am and lasted for 15-20 mins. If you're a deep sleeper this may be no issue for you. I did let the front desk know and they comp our breakfast. Other nice touches was a wine bottle for our arrival (celebrating a milestone anniversary). Santa Barbara was not super crowded when we were there early June. Plenty of parking around the city. As well, they are piloting something called the Loop where you can ride up and down State Street for free. We Uber from hotel to Handlebar Coffee in the morning and it was only $8.

Yelp
What a gem. Great value hotel with 5 star hospitality and service. We stayed here for two nights to celebrate new years and had a great experience. The location is perfect just a few steps from the water. Great for morning jogs or walks. It's about a 20 minute walk to the pier. Close enough but far enough from the bustling State street. The restaurant is great as well. We ordered the Margherita pizza and enjoyed it on our balcony. Another perk I appreciated was the text communication with the hotel staff for basic needs. Very responsive and friendly. They also charged my Tesla with the valet service which was nice. Valet staff was professional and helped getting our luggage to and from the room. Our room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Super clean all around as well with character. Why pay double to stay at the Californian when you can stay here for held the price. Also walking distance to the Santa Barbara zoo.

Yelp
What a wonderful, quaint, beautiful hotel with spectacular ocean views! All the staff were super helpful and friendly and accommodating the whole time. We just came for a weekend vacation and really enjoyed ourselves. Had a lovely dinner at their restaurant Convivo and everything was just perfection. Hotel rooms, extremely clean like the whole hotel and the beds were very comfortable. Also, the linens were very soft. We had breakfast by the pool and everything was just lovely. Did I mention the views? Highly recommend!

Yelp
This town looks beautiful on the outside. There is a restaurant for convenience on site. The food is very good. The valet is excellent. Jennifer from the front desk was extremely personable and accommodating. However, the rooms are outdated and the beds are not comfortable or bathroom had ants in it as did other areas in the room. We were given a room after not liking the first two rooms due to air quality if you are sensitive to mildew mold or unclean air do not stay here. We accepted a room on the third try and honestly, I never felt comfortable there. Additionally, we had to use the screens on the balcony for ventilation.

Yelp
Very nice stay. Started with the friendly valet TJ. Got checked in to the immaculate room. 2 Queen room. Huge bathroom with plenty of amenities. The pool Is clean and fun! Across the street from the beach.

Yelp
My family really enjoyed our stay here. Reservations and check in were a breeze. All of the staff members were extremely welcoming. Our room was very clean and well-maintained. It even had a large balcony. The walk to the beach is just a few steps and downtown about five minutes away. The gym and pool were maintained and the restaurant was good as well. Ballet was very friendly, we had a great vacation here, highly recommended!

Yelp
Great location, rooms. Except the bar closes at 9pm. Pretty pool and outside eating dinning room.

Yelp
You get exactly what you expect. Spacious rooms in a great location with friendly and super helpful staff! We stayed here for a few nights on recommend friends and we would stay here again!

Yelp
This our getaway place. We were here last August and just loved the property, the amenities and the bed. My husband and I are very particular about our bed firmness, soft sheets and overall comfort in hotel beds, and this one completely surpassed our expectations. So in our long weekend getaway this year we came right back and once again had the best stay. The service from the registration desk to the valet were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Can't wait for another long weekend stay.

Yelp
We had a great getaway to the SBI in early June. Everything about our stay met or exceeded our expectations, beginning with the valet experience and including the room, the dining (we ate every meal of our 3-day stay at the restaurant, or we had in-room dining - everything was amazing), the ambiance and the service. Our room was spacious, quiet, comfortable and super clean (very important to me). We used to live in the area and we enjoy coming back often, so this is going to be our one and only place to stay every time. It's close to everything and you cannot beat the views! Prices are incredibly fair for the quality.

Yelp
Had a great stay at the SB Inn. From valet parking to check in and check out everything went smoothly. Got an ocean view room , lovely room it was very clean and comfortable. Definitely worth a stay for a special occasion. Expensive room but comparable to the area. Shout out to the valet guys for fast and friendly service. We ate dinner at the Convivo restaurant and it was ok.

Yelp
I've had the pleasure of staying here a couple times now. Great experience both times. The patio balcony is so great! Customer service is always genuine. This hotel feels luxurious to me but not too much. Radiant floors in the bathroom for those cold morning feet. The rooms are tidy and comfy.

Yelp
Beautiful, clean, & spacious room. Nice food at the restaurant. Great continental breakfast.

Yelp
Santa Barbara Inn is modern luxury in prime location, right along the famous Cabrillo boulevard and just down the street from Stearns Wharf and downtown. We were able to enjoy a fabulous staycation here, and were blown away with the quality and amenities. Service was impeccable, we always came back to a clean room and had zero wait time for our car from the valet. The rooms are very spacious, even our balcony was quite large and offered amazing ocean views. There is free coffee for guests in the morning, and since we booked direct with the hotel we were given vouchers for breakfast. Everything was delicious, we especially loved the breakfast croissant sandwich and lattes.

Greg G.

Yelp
Room - ocean view was amazing. Bed was comfortable. Price - comparable to other area nice hotels, but not cheap. Service - welcome texts, welcome water/wine/ and $25 credit towards breakfast each day. Proximity to beach - right across the road. 5 minutes ti get to the beach. Restaurant at hotel - pleasant staff. Tasty food. Ate the peach pizza (yummy), both the Blond and Pilsner beers were great, great views of the Pacific Ocean. Ate breakfast there twice and both times it was good. Overall- we will be back for our next trip to Santa Barbara

Yelp
We stayed at the Santa Barbara Inn and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience due to excessive noise from the room above us. We heard loud banging and heavy footsteps throughout the night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. We contacted the front desk, and they assured us they had called the guests--but the noise continued well into the night. It felt like nothing was actually done to resolve the issue. For the price of this hotel, we expected a peaceful and restful stay. Sadly, that was not the case.

Yelp
What an amazing place to stay right across the street from the ocean on Cabrillo. The management and staff are stellar. The rooms are meticulously clean and the bedding quite comfortable. Convivo is the on-site restaurant and has an amazing breakfast and Italian dinner menu. I recommend this fine Inn for your traveling needs when staying in Santa Barbara. A definite 10 in my book. Thank you.

Yelp
Beautiful inn across the waters. I love the decor of this hotel. Even though we were facing the homes and the parking lot, it was still peaceful. I had a sliver sight of the ocean. The restaurant downstairs was fabulous.

Yelp
The staff was absolutely amazing. We actually got a gift from the hotel for our anniversary which was unexpected and very nice (photo attached). The valet attendants were absolutely great also, so accommodating and eager to help with anything. Our room was very clean and had an amazing view, exactly what we wanted and requested (room view photo attached). We ate all our meals at the Convivo restaurant. Delicious ! The Santa Barbara Inn made our visit exceptional. It's obvious that they care about their guests. We had a very nice time and looking forward to the next time. If you have never stayed at the Santa Barbara Inn, you need to and you definitely need to eat at Convivo!

Yelp
Totally underrated. Always have a nice experience. It's our go to hotel in santa barbara. Nice room, well trained staff. Just a hotel that consistently delivers at high level which is super rare since covid.

Yelp
My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Santa Barbara Inn. The rooms and the entire inn is very clean. They also have outstanding customer service. They had an employee text us daily to make sure we were happy and to see if there's anything that we needed. Anything we requested was provided very efficiently. All the employees we came in contact with, even passing in the hallway, were friendly and welcoming. No bad attitudes here! They also had a fabulous restaurant, Convivo, on the grounds. It's not cheap, but if you enjoy top-notch, fresh ingredients prepared in a creative and delectable way, you will love this place. It has a very well done outdoor dining area, with an indoor bar and flatscreen and comfortable dining area. Our servers were all very attentive and friendly, and someone from management stopped by to have a brief chat and made sure we were enjoying. We had breakfast there daily, and ended up eating dinner there 3 out of our 5 nights, as the other places we dined couldn't remotely compare. They have a nice, relaxing, heated pool and spa area that was very clean which we enjoyed daily. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and are planning to stay yearly at the Santa Barbara Inn for a staycation.

Yelp
Spent my birthday weekend here with my boyfriend and I have to say it was beautiful here. Driving into the hotel we were greeted by the valet guys and they were super helpful with our bags. Overnight parking is $24/day. Once walking into check in (we actually got there 20 mins prior to check in time which was at 4) We sat and waited in the beautiful lobby that overlooks the beach. My only gripe was we were told the room was getting prepped for us - cool. When 4 o'clock hit we didn't receive an update on our room while we were sitting there. Meanwhile everyone else was getting checked in. I think it would have been nice since they saw us sitting there for 20 minutes to let us know our room was ready. I think they could use some improvements there. Once we got into our hotel, we were greeted with the beautiful ocean view. We stayed on the third floor and a bit of our view was obscured with the many trees that are planted out front, but overall still a nice view. Room was clean, and we had a double sink, bath tub and stand up shower. I really loved that they had heated bathroom floors. I loved it! Room Service was quick every time we ordered. One thing to note, the hotel is situated in front of a big street, so you'll here sirens, loud cars and music from time to time (not as often), so if you're looking for a super quiet retreat, keep this in mind. It didn't bother me at all. The beach is right across the street, and you'll love the restaurant Convivo downstairs. The food is amazing and the dinner view is even better. We ordered room service and enjoyed dinner and breakfast from our beachfront balcony. Overall even with the minor annoyances of checking in, the Santa Barbara Inn was an enjoyable stay. Enjoy!

Yelp
My husband and I decided to do a short one day getaway to SB for our babymoon with our toddler. We are so glad that we chose Santa Barbara Inn as our choice to stay. From check in to check out, the process was smooth. As for parking, you could valet for $25 or if you're lucky, you could find free street parking (just make sure to read the signs); we got lucky and found street parking right in front of the hotel. We loved the fact that they wrote us a card to take back as a memento of our lovely stay there. They even provided us with a little treats (our toddler devoured those delicious cookies lol) to say congrats! Not only that, I know it wasn't guaranteed, but they even accommodated us with a room with a bathtub for our toddler. As for our view, it was facing the parking lot, so not that great, but we didn't fret over that since what we really wanted was the bathtub for our toddler. Also, I would recommend eating at their restaurant, Convivo. The food was delicious and it was so convenient that all we had to do was just ride the elevator down for dinner after we checked into our room. Overall, great experience! I would personally stay here again.

Yelp
We had a fantastic stay here at the Inn. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. Staff was friendly and very informative. The restaurant at the Inn also served us a delicious dinner! Thank you Santa Barbara Inn

Yelp
Wonderful location, very friendly staff, super clean and great vibes... I love staying at this resort! I know it's not really a resort but it feels like one! I stay here several times a year and every time has been a great experience. The food at the restaurant looks interesting and it is sometimes difficult to tell what everything on the menu but I've never been disappointed with the food! ( occasional snippy server warning) This may sound weird but I love the water! It's clearly conditioned and it makes showering feel luxurious. You gotta stay here!

Yelp
My first time visiting the Santa Barbara Inn. It was a lovely experience. From the very sweet valet to the outgoing gentleman who checked us in. The room was extremely clean! And so beautiful. Our room overlooked the pool and had a view of the ocean. It was very quiet, until the morning hours when the city began to wake. The pool area was clean and easy to access. Actually, all areas that we experienced were clean. Staff was always very nice and outgoing. There was a wedding the evening we stayed, but never heard it. My only wish for my visit, was a coffeepot in the room. Having to go downstairs to get coffee, was not ideal. I did appreciate the amenities given for self care. The bed was very comfortable. Plenty of space to relax. Overall a wonderful experience and would happily return for another visit.

Letty C.

Yelp
Super clean and perfect room for the weekend stay. They have a small dinning room with breakfast, coffee and pastries selection.
google avatar

Faith B.

Yelp
Andrea overnight personal said my room number out loud and aggressively voiced my personal room number which made me feel extensively unsafe. I hope she is better trained for single females. Andrea didn't clearly understand hospitality so she is the reason I will not be coming back.

Michael B.

Yelp
Everything and the attached restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately what could be a nice bar is ruined by the terrible back bar
google avatar

Marina A.

Yelp
Santa Barbara Inn beautiful and historic hotel right across the beach and minutes to the center of the down town Santa Barbara. Spacious and plush rooms with a balcony and some are with direct ocean view are clean, nicely decorated and were recently renovated. Just off the reception area there is a hotel restaurant that offers complimentary breakfast with your stay. Valet parking is $23 for overnight stay. Stearns Wharf is just a little walk away along the beach where you can find a great restaurant for local seafood. Overall it's a great choice for your stay while visiting an amazing city of Santa Barbara !
google avatar

Katie J.

Yelp
I have a lot to say about this place. My husband and I and our entire family stayed a long weekend here and had my wedding reception here, along with a ton of our wedding party staying at the hotel as well. Clearly we spent A TON of money at their establishment. I can honestly say, out of the entire staff at Santa Barbara Inn and Convivo...the valet guys were by far the nicest/friendliest. I don't have great things to say about the event planner from Convivo, she was VERY unhelpful and not accommodating during my entire planning process, which stressed me out. The front desk manager Grant was rude. One of the managers at Convivo was also rude and the staff basically threw my wedding cake in a box, which crushed and mashed it up. I was devastated. I don't understand how you treat people who just spent 30k this way. We got the ANACAPA suite and that was beautiful but I'm very disappointed with the lack of professionalism they displayed to us during our very special weekend. Although the grounds are beautiful, I just wish the staff were more accommodating to their guests, especially on such a special occasion. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yelp
My guy and I were really looking forward to our stay here. Honestly, in the past, we would find the $100-$150 rooms in motels nearby and just splurged on meals. This time, we decided to splurge on a nicer hotel/bar/restaurant site so we could spend our time reading and relaxing by the pool, while eating and drinking on site. We arrived and staff were incredibly friendly, the room was lovely, but we went to go to the pool and had to be redirected multiple times through various wedding related groups, rehearsal dinners, and large parties. I sat by the pool with my book and couldn't read a word as I was enveloped by multiple 75+ groups celebrating weddings with open bars and an all around party atmosphere. I felt like I was smack in the middle of an engagement party, a rehearsal dinner and a wedding. There's no issue with a hotel hosting such events, but couples who are paying top dollar for a peaceful stay here deserve to have the experience as advertised, or be warned and compensated for unexpected large events. I spoke to customer service, and they were friendly enough in comping us a drink, but they also told us we would have been better suited for the ritz down the road- so sorry I work in community mental health and don't have $1500+ to drop on an evening there. I truly found that insulting and rude. You are a full service hotel. You should offer what you advertise. I'm just let down that this hotel expects to host both weddings/wedding parties and individual guests/couples without noticing how strikingly different the needs and experiences are. I would have expected a major room upgrade, comped dinner, bottle of wine, at the very least. Unfortunately. We won't be back. We will ensure our community won't either. Update: As the night went on, things only got worse and louder: speeches, applause, cheers, service deliveries, construction sites- general unpleasant noise that ruined our night into the late hours. I didn't sleep a wink. As we sat on our patio to relax there was a truck right below us delivering a flatbed of wood. After dinner as we went to sleep the walls were paper thin with people upstairs walking around in heels into the wee hours and I woke up to a 6am delivery of all the food products to the kitchen- I believe our room was right on top of the storage/kitchen space so it was non stop delivery vehicles and workers being loud while making various deliveries nonstop. Our bathtub was clogged on top of all that. I spoke with Ruth at the front desk about our unfortunate experience, and she was very sweet and took off a nominal amount, letting us know management would review the case and ensure we were taken care of. We heard from management 10 minutes later who essentially shamed us for not upgrading to a nicer room to avoid some of the inconveniences, and claimed she informed us of the large events- which is just untrue. Wow. Never. Ever. Shame your customer. You have now lost two families and communities of guests. Take accountability for what your guests experience. We pay the bills. We absolutely do not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
The worse hotel experience ever. First of all, we requested a king bed and they gave us a room with two beds. Second, they put us in a handicap room. We tried to ask the hotel reservation manager to see if they could switch us to a regular room and she was not willing to help, kinda rude. She basically gave me the attitude as I could take it or leave it. We didn't pay $360* to stay at a hotel that offers no customer service at all. I have been traveling around the world and have never encountered a hotel like this one. I don't care if it's $1000 a night or $100 a night, the customer service should be every hotel's property. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel is old and view is a parking lot if you don't pay $799 for an ocean view. Next time, we would rather stay at Hilton or Hyatt than this hotel in Santa Barbara again.

Yelp
From the valet parking to the check in to the room to the maid service to the checkout all 5 stars. GREAT LOCATION

Yelp
Great location and service... and a lovely restaurant on property. You can even walk to and from the Santa Barbara Bowl if you don't mind a long jaunt. Love this place!!

K S.

Yelp
Went here in May of 24' for my bday. (Husband booked the trip.) I prefer to stay at Bacara, it is MUCH nicer. The rooms here are seriously in need of updating. Very old and shabby. Also, there are no coffee makers in room, and if you think you are going to go downstairs to a lovely coffee bar... think again. They also promote themselves as "beach side" and quaint... I heard trains and traffic and felt like we were in a traffic zone. So much for the peaceful view.. Overall.. it is a hotel that needs MAJOR updating. They can use words like "quaint" and "boutique" all they want. "Old" and "Outdated" would be more accurate. That said, the cleaning crew is excellent and the valet guys are on it. Not worth the money they are charging. (Even if it is Santa Barbara).

Yelp
Very cute hotel with an old school feel. It's not the typical chain hotel. I loved their heated floors in the bathroom. We slept with our patio door open to listen to the waves. Opt for the higher floor, corner room, with oven view. It's worth it. We had breakfast outside as we watched the sunrise. The hotel is a bit difficult to find at night. It's really dark. Their onsite restaurant was okay. We ordered their seafood dishes and barely saw any seafood in it. The breakfast was also nothing to rave about. It's about the same price as the doubletree.

Yelp
A great weekend getaway thanks to the Santa Barbara Inn! We came here for a 3 night stay to getaway and last minute, availability let us upgrade to an Oceanview room! The room was large, clean and comfortable. We definitely enjoyed a few bottles of wine from our balcony with the awesome views. Service was excellent... They've implemented a texting service which gave us direct and easy contact with staff. From asking for wine glasses to making reservations at Convivo, the hotel restaurant, things were seamless! (BTW, Convivo was an excellent hotel restaurant that seems to be frequented by locals. Review to come). Their pool was on the smaller side and though it had a chill vibe, could've used some music to drown out the noise from the adjacent restaurant. Location was fine. It's on the further end of the coast, about a 15 minute / $5-6 ride to State Street. Not a problem for a casual, beautiful walk but if you (or the lady) are done up for a nice dinner, walking may be a bit daunting to get to the main strip. The price is on the mid-upper range for stays in the area, but if you're looking for comfort, service and relaxation, the splurge will be worth it.

Yelp
The word 'Inn" is really an understatement to the Mediterranean stylish icon that is Santa Barbara Inn. It's prime beachfront location and proximity to downtown are a huge plus. Couple that with warm service from the staff, elegant rooms, spacious bathrooms (some with heated floors!) and clean surroundings, it's worth the price tag of a luxury hotel we paid for in Santa Monica. I hate to say that the pool is small, but appreciate that they have one. Valet parking was $21 overnight, but since hubby has great parking karma, he easily found street parking on Orilla del Mar Dr. With each booking comes free wifi and a continental buffet spread. We were warned not to expect hot items, but was surprised to find steel cut oats served with all the fixins. Their pastries and bread are all so good and it was hard to resist slathering on the homemade jam and salted butter on those things. I have no self control! ;-) We did try the bar one night, but my virgin mojito was definitely too sour for my liking. I guess their strong points are more of the beer and wine variety. We had a wonderful stay here and wouldn't hesitate to for a return visit. Hopefully soon!

Yelp
Don't let the "Inn" fool you - this hotel is beautiful inside and out! A lot attention to detail has been put towards the interior after the 2013 remodel. A welcoming, open lobby; spacious rooms with a large bathroom, and a nice pool and garden area. Not all rooms have ocean view though; you might get one with a view of the parking lot. However, you're not in Santa Barbara to stay in all day, right? The beds are comfy, the amenities provided top notch (robes and slippers!), and the noise level from hallway/neighbors are tolerable (at least what we've experienced). Breakfast is included in the rate, it is continental (bagels / fruit / oatmeal / juice / coffee). Oh, and the beach is right there.

Yelp
Really nice hotel. The valet guys are friendly and quick. The restaurant downstairs was really good, and if you book on their website or over the phone directly you get a $25 credit to your bill each day you stay. The rooms are very overpriced in my opinion. They are really clean and nice but a little dated and you can get a similar or better bet for your money down the road for way cheaper.

Yelp
I book marked the Santa Barbara Inn some time ago. It looked nice. My birthday weekend in SB was fast approaching and I selected the Beachside Inn down the street because it was right next to Toma and I got cheap. Upon check in at the Beachside Inn we found the hotel to be old, small, and under construction at $275.00 per night. All we could hear was hammering! Oh hell no. Not this weekend. They let us off the hook at no charge. I give them credit for that. We were officially homeless in Santa Barbara on a Friday afternoon. I knew this was going to cost us but I called the Santa Barbara Inn. I explained our situation to the girl at the front desk and she was so nice about it. She cut me some slack and promised us we would love the room. $$$$ This was one of the Riveria suites with a 180 ocean front view. Absolutely awesome room. Wonderful staff from the front desk, valet, and restaurant. World class. This hotel made our weekend extra special. Was it expensive? Of course it was. Normally $650.00 per night, they gave it to us for $450.00 per night + $25.00 a day for parking. What did we learn? Don't be cheap. If you're staying in Santa Barbara be prepared to pay an extra couple hundred bucks for a room and get a good one. Don't settle for good enough or not so good at all. Live your life to the fullest. Enjoy yourself. It's later than you think.

Yelp
Our stay has been fantastic. The staff is very attentive and we loved the new texting system where we didn't have to call but could text for anything needed in our room. The view was amazing-room was super clean-and it was just the place to relax and unwind.

Yelp
We stayed at the Santa Barbara Inn to celebrate a special occasion, and unfortunately did not have a good experience. I don't usually speak up when I get bad service, but our time at the SB Inn was particularly disappointing. Here are the issues we experienced: 1. The Valet attendant when we arrived on Friday very loudly and rudely yelled at my spouse in her car for not pulling up enough. It shocked us both, and was completely unwarranted. It really upset her and made a bad first impression. 2. At check-in the gentleman working the desk was unorganized and didn't even wish us congratulations, even though we were celebrating a special occasion which was on our reservation. 3. When we came back down to get service at the front desk because only one key worked, the front desk was unattended for a long period of time even though we could hear people talking behind the desk, and we had to yell for someone to come help us. 4. There is no coffee or tea complimentary in the room which was very inconvenient because of its limited availability. This seems very unreasonable when you consider we paid $550 a night, and even a cheaper or lesser quality hotel has coffee complimentary in the room. 5. The only coffee they have available in the lobby is bad quality, and is not even available all day. 6. When we expressed our concern about not having access to coffee all day, and that it was not available in the room, the front desk staff chose to use the opportunity to say how we should have come earlier, and very rudely minimized our concern. Instead of owning the situation, they chose to lecture us on how it was the restaurant's fault, instead of trying to sympathize and apologize. They generally acted as if they didn't care, and didn't care about us. 7. The internet never worked for us during our stay. We tried multiple different ways to troubleshoot, such as disconnecting/reconnecting, restarting our devices, and turning off cellular data, but it still didn't work. Because of this, we were not able to respond to pressing work-related emails, and had to go off property to get internet access. 8. The room furnishings, particularly in the bathroom, are cheap and worn. The floors are very thin and you hear everything above or below you. The quality of the room and its appearance should at least be relative to the price paid. In this instance, the price paid is not on par with the quality of room provided. 9. Lastly, was just generally had bad customer service at this property. The front of the house staff don't seem to care about the guests or don't seem interested in delivering good quality service. They care more about being right and lecturing you, then resolving issues with your stay. 10. There were also many low quality attributes which seemed out of place. Such as the restaurant staff doing silverware roll ups on the pool deck, food service staff having meetings on the pool deck / guest areas, staff not being at their posts when we need service, and repairs to the room below us taking place early in the morning without warning. When we were there to celebrate a special occasion, and paying $2,000 for 3 nights we expected a better quality of service.

Yelp
I had to ask for water. None was provided. The restaurant is the focus of this hotel. They are a hotel a distant 2nd...three stars at best. Not even a coffee maker in the room. You must street park unless you valet. Tiny pool right next to outdoor eating area. Not worth the $$.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel! We stayed 2 nights and would come back again. PROS: the location is close enough to downtown but not right where all the night life noise and congestion is; the room and bathroom was well maintained and well stocked; the bed was comfortable and the valet staff (Miles) was EXCELLENT!! Also appreciated texting with the attentive and friendly Concierge (Akia) anytime I had a question; the voucher for food was a wonderful surprise for booking directly with the hotel however it should extend to dinner and room service not just breakfast and lunch. CONS: front desk and restaurant staff did their job efficiently but not as welcoming, friendly and wanting to make guest feel valued as the valet staff; no in room coffee maker to enjoy coffee or tea anytime; no gift shop/center; the noise from the restaurant was loud coming in from our balcony, drowning out the ocean waves and it was so loud that even the street traffic/train was barely heard; street parking was risky for theft and damage to vehicles; the view was ok but not as good as expected for extra price over a standard room which probably would have been quieter. Again, we enjoyed our stay and would like to stay again.

Yelp
Shockingly unprofessional valet and front desk staff. We watched the valet drive aggressively with the car of the guest ahead of us (to the point that it made us hesitate to hand over our keys). Then the valet was extremely rude and short with us. We thought this was just one employee, but then the front desk staff was also impolite and had no manners to welcome guests checking in. Finally, as we were leaving, the valet pulling up our car almost hit another guest's car (we had to shout to warn him). Disappointing service, will not come again.
