"Last summer, I traveled solo on the Amtrak Coastal Starlight from Santa Barbara to San Francisco and spent the entirety of the 9-hour journey in the communal observation lounge, where fellow travelers rotated in and out, sharing tables and playing cards while admiring the views. As the sun set on the second half of the trip, a few musically-inclined passengers formed an impromptu band complete with an acoustic guitar and mandolin. Word slowly spread and others trickled in from other parts of the train to take turns singing songs in different languages."

It was our first time here and we loved it ! Everything was clean and well maintained! We sat inside and there was a bathroom 🚽 We felt safe ! Definitely recommend this station 🚉! Cannot wait to come back !

Super centrally located to the tasting rooms. However, our train was delayed almost an hour. We ended up getting back to LA at about 10:30pm. The process to board the late train was a bit chaotic.

Great Santa Barbara train station for Amtrak trains. Good stop to stretch the legs

City couldnt figure out since 2:45pm for 6 hours straight how to lift the rail crossing arms leaving tourists stuck and traffic at a standstill. With no signs whatsoever to explain there was no way to get through, cars sat and sat, backing up traffic everywhere. Took me 3 different routes coming into town at night to finally get to my hotel. As my first intro to this place, I am not impressed how bad the leadership is.

A wonderful historical station that is a flashback to yesteryear. Inside is beautiful with original wood paneling. The fireplace and waiting area are like walking into the past. Plenty of waiting areas inside and out. It's a great place to catch a train for a short trip or farther. Get business class...it's worth it!

This was the driest and grossest Amtrak station on the planet. Considering as a tour place and SB but acually I’m very disgusted. Restrooms had no water or toilet seat cover required by the department of health, outside of the building smells pee in the corners, trash cans full of trash and only few seating area outside. No security at all and random people walk around. Just disappointed over all. Poor city mayor’s job.

Pacific Surfliner Amtrak from Santa Barbara to Van Nuys - Business Class was very convenient, clean and comfortable. Charger available. Lovely views and snack box with beverage.

Station is open from 6.00 AM to 10.00 PM, though you are obliged to collect your luggage from the storage until 7.00 PM - 10$ for one. Restrooms are for 5-digit code available at the counter. Station itself is beautiful.
