What a gorgeous community space. The library is very open with a great selection of resources. There is an appreciated focus on resources highlighting the history, geography, and culture of the Canary Islands.
Several students were using the quiet workspace on the grand main floor. The children's library in the basement had few families.
As much as I love the space with all the peekaboo windows on the exterior wall, you can see that much daylight, from the court-side wall, has found its way into the space: Books have been bleached by the light.
This is, however, an ongoing concern in many libraries as Architects should always consider the need to protect books, as they imagine these valuable social arenas.
