SANTAI Pool Bar and Lounge @ The RuMa

We chose The Ruma Hotel Santai Pool Bar Restaurant to celebrate New Year’s Eve 2026, expecting a fun and memorable night, but sadly it turned into a big disappointment. From the beginning, the service was very slow, even though the restaurant was not busy. We came as a group of five and ordered drink packages with food. The seafood package was just okay, but the beef package was far below standard. The beef was badly overcooked and extremely tough, despite ordering it medium rare, and the chicken was so dry it was hard to eat. For a special New Year’s Eve dinner, this was very frustrating. When the dance floor finally opened, we tried to request a song to enjoy the moment, but the DJ refused, saying no song requests were allowed and that our request could not be played. This completely killed the New Year’s Eve vibe and made the night feel cold and unwelcoming. Overall, this New Year’s Eve was nothing like what we had hoped for. Instead of celebration and joy, we left feeling disappointed and let down. A special night like this should have been handled much better

Was here for drinks on 2 nights during my trip to KL as I stayed at the hotel. Prices were on the pricier side but considering that there was next to no crowd , I do feel that it is quite worth it as it was overall quite peaceful. Most definitely will come here again if I were to stay in Ruma and thoroughly enjoyed my time here !

The food, the service is amazing even the HM Mr Daniyal came and welcome us personally. Beef short rib and the mash potato is really great. Also, Mr Faizal and the team did great too. Overall we enjoy our dinner, definitely will come back again.

I ordered Cesar salad and the sauce tasted cheap but the ambiance is nice it was hot depends on the timing but just that, also salad took long time even the place was empty

Azlan is an exceptional waiter at Santai Bar, known for his friendly demeanor and attentive service. Azlan makes every visit to Santai Bar enjoyable and memorable. The food at Santai Bar is truly remarkable, offering a delightful array of flavors that cater to a variety of tastes. Each dish is expertly prepared, showcasing fresh ingredients that create a vibrant and satisfying culinary experience. The balance of spices and seasoning is impeccable, allowing the natural flavors to shine through.

Quiet peaceful Tuesday 2pm. Great option to check out the rooftops if you dont have reservation for the tourist attractions.

We have spent a number of magnificent evenings relaxing here as part of our week long stay at The RuMa. It really is a haven away from the hustle and bustle of KL, bolstered by the fabulous service of Azlan and his team of superb, friendly staff. The service culture is attentive and caring and we have been moved by it. Highest recommendations. Thank you.

It was my husbands birthday and the staff and manager went the extra mile to make it a memorable day, special thanks to Ripon who was a very polite and competent waiter and h served us well. Keep up the good work everyone. Ripon thanks!
