SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus

Great place for family to go for the warmth and xmas related activities. Plenty of things to do there for you to spend few hours. Post card writing, watching show, making crafts, decorating gingerbread cookies etc. We enjoyed our time there even as adults!

Fantastic experience! It really conveys the spirit of the Christmas, much more than the Sanya’s Village. All the areas are very carefully designed to make you feel like you are in a real Christmas fairytale. The food and drinks were very nice, meeting Santa was cute and gingerbread bakery is very cozy and the train ride was so fun. We got to send the postcards for Christmas this year, which was an easy process and we are looking forward to receiving them in December. So many beautiful souvenirs to buy, all thematic and not the “cheap lousy one” and most importantly, they are so nicely positioned around the place you don’t feel that the only purpose of the whole setting is to sell, because of this subtle approach we ended up buying a lot. The biggest positive surprise was the elf show on the main stage, we loved it. This place made us feel like kids again and we would happily come back. Highly recommended.

I had an amazing time at Santa Claus Park! The place is absolutely beautiful, filled with holiday magic and charm. It was wonderful to see all the decorations and the festive atmosphere. it truly felt like stepping into a winter wonderland. Highly recommend visiting!

Great experience in total. Place a must! All the Elfs are super friendly and welcoming. They talk this funny language you feel you are inside the fairytale :) We came with teenage daughters and we all really enjoyed. Good deal to buy VIP family tickets - you have all included - as well pic with Santa, gift, even gingerbread and Santa hat. We are now certified Elfs!!! :) We were lucky to come at the end of the season just few days before they close so not many people inside!!!

This activity is expensive as all the Santa's activities here in Rovaniemi, but is the only one really magic and interactive and kind of less commercial than the rest of the Santa's Village & co. It is definitely best to buy the tickets at the entrance, come here by yourself and you can pay not more than 220 for 4 persons(2 kids and 2 adults)

Absolutely amazing - really was a fantastic VEP experience that transported you into Santa's workshop/ home, the kids haven't stopped talking about it and telling family how they met Father Christmas at home, and what a fabulous time they had 😀 Thank you Santa Park, the VEP Package is a must on a visit, seamless and just WOW!!! So from start to finish we felt special , we booked the VEP package and it is well worth it, you're treated like Very Elfish People and means you're not buying anything extra, everything is included, you get a lanyard and the Elves know everything is included and just makes the whole experience seamless, no queueing for Santa for us (and if there is then it's 5-10 if that as you have you own line), Gingerbread making drinks and chocolate lollies, decorating all included and just so easy - really enjoyable and Mrs Gingerbread came to see us to give us an extra special gift . We went on the train whoch rhe kids loved (ages 9 and 5), made crafts and went to Elf school which is cute, lits of laughs and we got certificates and Elf hats. Lunch was delicious (included with hot drink or juice) and then we got front row seats to the Elf Show, we went for a late lunch at 3ish and got a front row seat and enjoyed a leisurely lunch before the Elf Show at 4pm - was amazing. We visited on 22nd December, wasn't too busy, as Sunday and just the best day ever. Every chat with the Elves was magical and gave us an insight into Santa's home 😀 Would recommend, loved it. We arrived about 12pm and stayed till 6pm - epic!!!

Nice park:) To see Santa is free, but if you wanna buy a photo it'll cost 50€+ You can walk around the park and buy the attractions you like Looks magical

So picturesque and fresh of breath air it warranted a second return! Santa's village is designed to have Santa's hotel, cafes, restaurants, shops, reindeer sleigh ride as well as other bookings available --among others--within the area. Inside the village you will also find Santa's main post office in which you will be able to select every postcard you wish to send to special loved ones postmarked to be sent from Lapland, Finland: Santa's very own home in the arctic circle! Tacos are readily available outside in several areas that surround the outskirts of the village perimeter, no stress. Highly recommend to visit whether to scratch item off list of items to do/visit or create/begin a holiday tradition of your own!

Its litterly just 15 gift shops. The reindeer petting / feeding was kinda cool though.

If you're in Lapland Finland this is a must see attraction. Althoigh, it's definitely a tourist attraction based on the shopping prices. My spouse and I visited this attraction a few weeks ago, and we truly enjoyed the outdoor activities. The village has shopping, eating, reindeers, dog sledding, and many other winter activities. It's was very easy to navigate to with the use of a GPS device or Google maps. They have plenty of free parking lots, so there is no issues with parking.

Stayed here one night and it was nice and private, little cottage with parking outside, bathroom was large with its own sauna, kitchen was small but it was fully stocked and had a microwave and tea kettle. There was a small porch if people wanted to hang out. It's a large property of course Santa themed. There's a gas station across the street in case you would like to buy food and drinks cheaper. Nice and on the main drag.

So this is definitely a tourist attraction, complete with ridiculous prices to do anything in the area but, it is one of the most charming places I've ever been. Santa Claus Village is devoted to the bearded Christmas figure with his office, Mrs. Claus' place, Santa's post office, an ice bar and restaurant, an ice skating rink, winter games, reindeer sleigh rides, the arctic circle line, and a number of souvenir shops where you can find all types of Christmas decorations, Santa-themed and Finnish souvenirs, and chocolate. We started the day by learning a little history of the area and by getting an official certificate indicating that we'd crossed the arctic circle. This was followed by spending time around one of the many fires in the area with warm juice in hand before getting into a sleigh being pulled by reindeer. We explored the place, saw Santa and got a gift from him, went to the post office to mail a few things, and did some shopping as well. This was a unique experience indeed and despite the chilly weather, it was worth it!

I think this is a must visit place if you believe in Christmas and Santa. There are so much to explore to experience Christmas spirit. There is Santa of course, elf, Mrs Santa Claus, reindeer, gift. You can also post letter or post card or get a letter from Santa at Santa Claus post office. If you post a letter to Santa from anywhere in the world, the letter actually came to here. There are also accommodation here, I am staying in a cabin with sauna. It's quite spacious and the sauna is a must have experience in Finland. The hotel provide free shuttle service to and from the airport, just email them your arrival date time and flight number after making reservation. I only have good things to say about this place and have already thinking about going back while writing this review.

Santa Claus village is such an amazing place you'll love it I hope to someday to visit there with my family.

If you are in Lapland, this is a must see!!! You can visit with Santa Claus in nearly every language. He spoke Italian, Japanese, English, and even Arabic! It is fun to be in the Arctic Circle. It is chilly so make sure to dress warmly in the winter. You can fill out a postcard and send it from Santa's village. We had some fun with that!

I am surprised to see that I am the 14th review. I was really amazed by what its like to be here. You can really be lulled into a feeling of wondering if santa clause is real or not. Like, I understand he's not delivering packages around the world, but is there a guy they call santa clause and that runs the village? To further belief or dis-belief, there are little people that range reindeers and give instructional seminars on working with them. I didn't see any with a red nose but I was told he had the day off. I do recommend going into the post office and dropping off a post card that will legitimally be post marked from the north pole. The santa clause village is above the arctic circle and they will stamp your passport showing it too. If you go during december, like i did, it will be dark by 2pm, but then again it never is light during that time, just twilight.

Hey, who doesn't love Santa?! Not so long ago in a distant land of ice and snow, far, far away, I went in search of the Jolly Old Elf, and my quest brought me to the Arctic Circle. Yes, I had a bone to pick with the Big Guy about some matter of a Red Ryder BB Gun that was promised but never delivered to a little boy who was extra special good that year. "Hey, Santa, FYI, a Radio Flyer Wagon is not the same thing." Well, of course, I found him hanging out in Finland's Santa Claus Village which is a megalopolis of everything Christmas. Let me just say that to get the full effect of Santa Claus Village, you must visit during the winter. Snow and ice cling to each and every building like frosting on a cake, and the Arctic Twilight bathes the grounds in a magical glow that reminds you of what it was like to be young. It is just like you are in one of those Thomas Kinkade paintings. Oh, and there is Big Time Xmas shopping here. Everything from hand carved Christmas decorations to the Kuksa, a Lapland wooden drinking cup, which is a must purchase. Tradition holds that the first beverage imbibed from this cup should be whiskey which was why I bought two. Yup, the stores at Santa Claus Village have everything from reindeer antler bottle openers to Dasher and Dancer's pelts fashioned into some pretty sweet throw rugs (sorry kiddies and PETA). And speaking of reindeer, there is plenty of delicious Rudolph just waiting for you in the cafeteria. It is lightly seasoned and comes spooned out on the plate in a loose meat sort of juicy goodness. It is the perfect way in which to take out some retribution, for say such crimes as not getting that prized Christmas Gift. "Yeah, that's right, Fat Man, I still Haven't forgotten." So after filling up on a double plate of Rudolph or one of his equally delicious cousins, I made my way to the Big Guy. I moved through a sea of red clad carolers whose songs filled the whole complex with angelic harmony. Children slid down slides and through tunnels fashioned out of ice, and I immediately wished that I was a toddler again so that I could slid like a penguin (yeah, I know that they are found in the South Pole..just go with it). Tearing myself from this Currier and Ives winter seen, I finally spied the object of my quest, Santa. There he was holding court with a throng of eager children patently waiting their turn to tell Santa their most fervent Christmas wish. How many potential Red Ryder dreams were about to be dashed I wondered. I started to move but found myself frozen, for the magic of Santa Claus Village had overcome my desire for Christmas justice. The music, laughing children, the warm inviting shops, and yes the yummy reindeer, had all made me realize that I was in arguably the best place in the world to enjoy Christmas. Santa Claus Village should be on every traveler's list, for it will help the most hardened Grinch recapture the magic of his/her youth. It will make you believe again....Oh, and as for my Red Ryder BB Gun, well unlike the movie, I never did get it, but then, I probably would have shot my eye out anyway ..

Loving our stay here- the cottages are so cozy and warm (with your own private sauna!). We don't have kids so it is just two adults on this trip. We will probably go see Santa but skip the rest of the souvenir shops and go straight for the skiing, husky rides, snowmobiling, etc. Four stars because the dining options here are mediocre at best, and could really use some TLC from management.

If you believe in Santa, this is a must stop. It's just magical, our 4 year old son loved running around here and taking in the Christmas spirit! The day we went the snow was falling and the sweet sound of Christmas music filled the air! We were able to visit Santa without much wait. He actually was the special guest at a wedding we attended last night and he was able to tell us about the rest of his evening which was really nice. We were able to purchase a video of when we first saw Santa and several pictures which is nice, they really captured my son's expression seeing him! It's priceless. There is a world renowned North Pole post office where you can post letters from the North Pole for Christmas to you little ones, which is very sweet. We sent two post cards, so I hope to received them this year. There are numerous activities on site, husky sled dog rides as well as reindeer rides. The Arctic Circle actually runs right through the center of the main grounds so it was nice to get your picture sitting right on the NORTH POLE starts! There are numerous shops selling Finnish made products and souvenirs specific to Santa and the area. A taxi will run you €22.50 from city center and the bus that will take you here is about €7.50! I would recommend stopping here just to say that you did it. Not many people can say they visited Santa at his home!

I am not crazy about Christmas, but I do appreciate it as a special time of year to brighten up the cold and dull winter days and nights and to focus on family and friends. While staying in Rovaniemi, you get the chance to meet and greet Santa Claus at his office in Napapiiri at Santa Claus Village. I can imagine it to be a more memorable and special visit in winter with lots of Lapland snow, but even in summer it is a nice place to go. Take bus number 8 in front of Rovaniemi train station, pay 7,20 € for a return ticket to the driver and 25 minutes later you will reach Santa´s home. Make sure to check the timetable since there are just 7 buses on weekdays and even less on the weekend. Last bus taking you back to Rovaniemi will be at 5.10 pm even though Santa Claus Village stays open until 6. Plan accordingly to enjoy your stay and not to shed tears about paying exorbitant taxi fares. At Santa Claus Village, lots of shops sell Christmas items and handicraft. There are also a Marimekko shop (famous for its unique fabric prints and colours), an outlet store of Iittala (no less famous Finnish glass design) and Taigakoru (very unique Lapland jewellery). Of course, Santa Claus has got his own post office and a small museum about Christmas traditions. But most important of all is ... his office at which he works and welcomes visitors every day! No holidays for poor Santa ;OD! No pictures are allowed, but you can have your picture taken with Santa for purchase. I was really quite impressed and felt like stuck in a Disney movie, because the whole interior is fabulous and you get greeted by a Christmas gnome. Santa waits for you to sit down next to him and to have a little chat before the photo gets taken. People can watch you live on http://santaclauslive.com/ while talking to him - well, as usual I could hardly watch myself when they showed the clip to me afterwards ... hope no one else has seen me ;oD! Santa is a real charming guy and he speaks German! Did that surprise anyone??? Do not miss the Arctic Circle - yeah, Santa´s Village is located right there - and get the passport stamp for 50 cents at the information point to make this trip complete.

I came here with three other adults, so we experienced it from the grown up point of view. It was magical! We came here in December and it was a great experience to put me in the Christmas spirit! However, there are some things you should know: 1. We spend all of two hours at Santa's village, which is really all you need. Keep in mind we didn't have kids. We stopped by on our way back from Levi, Finland between our bus and train rides. 2. When going to see Santa, the line will seem long at first, but it moves really quickly. 3. There are several photo packets you can choose from, I would highly recommend the USB for 52€. It includes a video of your entrance and exit, the photos taken and bonus footage. What was great was because there for 4 of us, we only paid 13€ Each and all was able to download the onto our computers. 4. Taxi from the train station will be about 27€ each way for only about 10minutes. A total rip off. Take the bus if you have time. 5. You can get an arctic circle stamp in your passport for 0,50€. So take it with you! The cheapest souvenir you will find! 6. Speaking of souvenirs, Santa's village is like a mini mall. Be prepared for lots of opportunities to buy things!

A truly magical place for all the family! All year round you can see Santa's elves in their work shop and sorting out the huge amount of mail that gets delivered there every year. There is also a chance to meet the main man himself, Santa Claus, free of charge, and Santa can converse in many languages, which is pretty impressive! Its base in the Arctic circle adds to the magic of the place. There are also plenty of stores inside the shopping area to pick up gift items and a cafe to rest the weary feet in. Just remember to wear snow shoes/boots as the snow gets quite deep and slippery here. Great location and easy to reach from Rovaniemi by bus to Napapiiri which stops right outside Santa claus village

Reasons you should come here: - You have children. - You want to buy souvenirs, lots of souvenirs. - You have nothing else left to do. Reasons you shouldn't come here: - This place is so commercial its wild. Every attraction is basically a gift shop. - The staff here is capitalizing on everything...as in they charge you 2 euro to make a phone call to get a taxi (pretty much the only way in and out). Go husky sledding instead!

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED and UNEXPECTED !!! The management has no sympathy with tourist who does not stay in their hotels. We were in our Xmas vacation. We travelled from Kemi from 6pm to get to Rovaniemi at 830pm to see the Santa Claus village on a hard stormy snowy weather. The ladies in the store were so nice but per village policy they cannot let tourist or visitor use the restroom or buy coffee in the restaurant because of "The Village Hotel Guest are Having Dinner" management does want to disturb the hotel guest with the outsiders. They said to use the restroom across the street gas station. WADAPAK!!! To all tourist.. I about it 4x and Good luck!! They made my trip wasteful and not worth it.

Santa's village, meet the great man, the line was about a hour filled with as many adults as their were children, all feverish with excitement. We shook his hand, had a cuddle and a chat and got some great photos and a 1 minute video for 40 euros. Then out into the snow for the reindeer safari 3km, crossing the arctic circle and mailing our postcards in Santa's post office.. Twinkly lights were everywhere and everyone was having a great time. Lots of gift shops and restaurants all providing great quality. Once in a lifetime..or maybe we will come back... Number 8 bus from town is how most people get there, its a short 15 mins and the easiest way to do it.
