This was the best place we stayed while in Finland! The room was large, comfy, it had a couch, two twin beds, lots of pillows, air conditioning and a heater, a large shower, and a headed towel rack. I hung damp clothes on the towel rack and the clothes dried overnight (it was raining while we were there).
The price was good, just over 100 Euros a night ($116 USD at the time), which is low for being in cities. It was conveniently located, with a 24-hour corner grocery (Kioski) just around the corner. There was a small pasty shop on-site and a restaurant on-site.
The included breakfast was excellent, with Finish waffles and syrup, meats and fish, the boiled eggs were warm, there was a large selection of breads and fruit, milk and juice to drink, and excellent coffee. The staff were very good at their jobs; the coffee urn was checked on and changed quickly, when needed, tables were cleared, and the buffet was spotless. Our room was always made up quickly, and the front desk staff were friendly and helped me figure out my map of the city and the bus routes.
It was a pleasure to return to Santa's Hotel Santa Claus at the end of the day. For my next trip to Finland, I intend to fly from Helsinki to Romanievi and spend the majority of my time there, hopefully once again at Hotel Santa Claus.
