Guesthouse Santiago was a fun stay, moreso due to coincidences then any particular action by staff. The hostel was not expensive and I feel like I got great value for money. The location, while not next door to any public transit, isn't far from it. Additionally, it is quite close to a lot of popular attractions, restaurants, and shops, with the added plus that Hiroshima itself is very walkable. The Hostel was very clean, and I have nothing negative to say in this department. Staff were quite friendly when engaged, but it was hard to determine who did and didn't work there, and despite what looked like a lot of staff on-hand, there were no events or activities for guests. The facilities were great, with multiple private showers, decent beds, multiple tvs and a comfy lounge/social area. Their kitchen is very nice, if a little cramped. The worst part about this hostel is just the lack of the social aspect to it. It was not uncommon for there to be 5+ individuals just sitting around, checking phones and having relatively little to do. A couple of in-house activities or mild interaction with guests would go a long way, in my opinion.

The hostel was centrally located and easy to reach. Even though I arrived early, they kindly let me leave my bag and take a shower. The common area was sufficient, the bed was comfortable, and overall, everything was clean.

Highly recommend Santiago Guesthouse Hiroshima. You couldn't be in a more perfect spot yet just far enough away you can't hear the noise of the main strip. The staff were lovely, the common area had a great vibe, the beds were comfortable and the overall energy in the building was beautiful. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quailty yet affordable place in the heart of Hiroshima!

Staff and hallway cleanliness were great. Fun international atmosphere. Latino receptionist was extremely friendly and accommodating, even had medical articles bought for me by his boss and delivered. What a sweetheart. Disliked : Shower had a yakitori stick on the floor, but thats not the staff's fault. Kitchen was basic and could use with some more towels and general cleanliness, again due to other guests.

One of the nicest shared facilities hostels I've stayed at. Run by a really nice group of young people.*Shout out to Mario* The location is excellent, making it easy to enjoy Hiroshima's attractions. Peace Park, Ondo Onsen even the Miyajima Ferry are easily accessible.

Stayed here twice during my two separate visits to Japan. Stayed in the Family/Rooftop room so can’t speak for the dorm rooms. The room has space for 6 people with four beds, two queen size and two single beds. Location is about 10-15 minutes walk to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and 20-25 minutes walk to Hiroshima Castle.

Location was good being in walking distance to the atomic bomb museum. The way you didn't have proper bed sheets was pretty jarring. The Wifi connection was infuriating but the overall cleanliness was ok.

If you are prone to getting bug bites, I would avoid this place. I spent one night here and got around 50 bug bites. Good location, just not very clean. ¥200 for towel rental. * Got 11$ refund because I left early… I probably could’ve gotten more if I didn’t ask for it super late
