Santiago Marriott Hotel

"The exterior is nondescript at best, and the lobby, while attractive, does not betray unique character. In short, you don't stay here for the cultural or historical nods to place, but rather for the attentive five-star service. For a beauty fix, upgrade to executive level and use the lounge to gaze out on the Andes."

A very poor check in experience, no welcome and certainly not even a smile from the two older men who checked us in and then gave us our key when our room was allocated; they were grumpy, surly and perfunctory. The room is large but sparsely decorated with poor lighting. We were on the executive level so high up but the traffic noise was daunting. The bathroom was old fashioned with only a tub which had seen better days, tarnished chrome and tiles which seemed, like the sanitary ware, to be 30 years old. The key cards were temperamental, never opening the door at the first presentation. Floors were wooden and therefore noisy and we heard noise from other rooms as they moved chairs and luggage. The general aesthetic of the room was very, very poor and not what I expected. The worst I have stayed in in a long time and it and the lack of warmth and the general experience were not what I expected from a Marriott property. Breakfast was just about average. The bed and pillows were comfortable and staff in the Executive lounge, especially JJ, and those we encountered elsewhere except breakfast were cheery and pleasant (at breakfast when I went to ask for eggs I was greeted with a ‘huh’). We had a reasonably priced and comfortable ride to the airport, arranged in the lobby. The food offering in the Executive Lounge especially in the evening was varied and absolutely delicious. The view from it on the 23rd floor is beautiful but the place lacks soul, no soft furnishings and no comfortable chairs or sofas, only school like tables and chairs, you would not want to linger long, maybe that’s what they want. I will definitely not return and will think twice about booking another Marriott property, there are so many other options available. I wish I had stayed in a nicer and cheaper hotel, it would have been better value for money.

Nice hotel, great staff. Loved the lobby lounge/restaurant. Nice big park nearby if you want to take a walk or relax. A block from the shopping mall and good variety of restaurants. Nice pool area, but limited time that sun is on the pool. Disappointed that the hot tub water temperature was not hot.

We ate at 'Akun', the lounge and bar next to the hotel's reception. Food and service were great, Javiera was very attentive and went the extra mile for us to have an amazing experience. Also, we recommend the Spicy Maki, from the Nikkei menu, the juices were also nice

My wife and I stayed here for two nights upon our return to Santiago after an Antarctica cruise. Our first stay in the city was at nearby Mandarin Oriental, and I must say the Marriott provides more value for the stay. Our room was an “executive suite on executive floor”, which was 17th floor (out of 23). It faced the park on the back of hotel, which I’m sure is much quieter than facing the busy boulevard on the front. The accommodation was over 700 square feet, and much of it was due to a separate conference room off the main room. Overkill for us, but such spaciousness is appreciated. The executive rooms include access to the lounge on 23rd floor which has a wonderful view of surrounding area, and some good food is laid out between 5:30 and 7:30 pm. Drinks and coffee are available 24/7. The breakfast buffet, one level below the lobby, has an incredible assortment of foods, probably the best buffet in Santiago. If choosing to stay in Las Condes area of Santiago, which I recommend due to its upscale atmosphere and proximity to a sprawling mall, consider this Marriott seriously.

The hotel is nice for one night stays during airport transfers but the restaurant is terrible, especially if you have any dietary restrictions. Even after multiple attempts of you explaining & mentioning dietary restrictions, the lousy restaurant won’t pay attention and might bring you the food which you have restricted. PATHETIC RESTAURANT & awful taste!!!

Couldn't fault it really. Comfortable room, excellent maid service and the breakfasts were outstanding. A great bar and the food was very good. Well located, only a 15 minute walk from Manquehue metro station.

I arrived at the hotel at approximately 10:20 a.m. (possibly a few minutes earlier) and had to wait more than 35 minutes at the front desk before being assisted. When I was finally attended to, I was informed that, because the person who made my reservation was not physically arriving with me, I could not access any of the benefits attached to his Titanium status in his program. This was surprising to me, as we always stay under his profile and status when traveling. Initially, I was also told that no room was available and that I would have to return at 3:00 p.m. After I called him and he spoke with the hotel by phone, I was then offered a room, but I was charged USD 40 for early check-in. The room I was assigned was extremely old and below the standard we expect from your brand. Bottom line, I decided to cancel my stay in this hotel and moved to another. To be a 5-star hotel, Im disappointed

Google
Great location and friendly staff. Meals, foyer and services nice but really let down by the rooms, carpet and decor. These are a bit old and dated and could do with a good update, especially considering this is a Marriot and the room prices. Doubt I’ll stay agin.

Yelp
I stayed here during the 2019 protests and for that reason probably got upgraded to the executive suite. I didn't ask for it. They just gave it to me. The front desk messed up my key card access for the room so I had to drag my luggage all the way back down from the 23rd floor to have them re-do it. First world problems. The room was foolishly large with insane views of the city from the 23rd floor, also where the sucky executive lounge is located. The only thing they offer is non-alcoholic beverages and stupid snacks like M&Ms and raisins. But hey, at least it's 24 hours. As for complimentary breakfast at Cafe Med, I have never been more unimpressed with a breakfast buffet at a Marriott. And I average over 30 nights a year at Marriott properties. The food was absolutely atrocious. Overall, the hotel has zero charm given its location inside a business center. The only reason I'm at 4 stars is because of the upgrade, the gym and the pool. The gym is pretty stacked with equipment and the pool area is quite nice.

Yelp
The good: -Nice area/location -Meals are good -Spa is nice -Pool is decent The bad: -Mysterious black soot/mold fell from the air vent above the toilet -Staff was hit or miss. Some were very nice and helpful, others- not so much.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of this hotel. For starters, it has a great location in Las Condes and steps away from a nice shopping center. The lobby is very spacious, well lit and nicely decorated. There is a nice lounge in the middle. All the staff is very polite, pleasant and will do everything to make your stay pleasant. They often check on you and ask if there is anything you need. The room itself is very spacious. The 3 times I have been there I had a corner room with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom is quite large but shows some signs of tiredness, a little upgrade could do the stay even more pleasant.

Yelp
At first glance this seems like a typical Marriott property but the service makes this place really special. Marriott should have the Chileans training their employees world wide. If you even seem like you might need anything 20 people are rushing to help you. The area is a bit far from the city center but the walk to the subways is very nice and it feels very "safe". You can walk around in expensive clothes and no one will bother you. Our maid spoke perfect English and was really nice. Actually I have not met anyone who doesn't speak perfect English at this property. Shout out to Mary Carmen for giving us an amazing room and putting up with us. I know we can be difficult. Luckily Chile is a gorgeous country so we will be returning soon.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Very upscale. Staff is very nice. Asked for a room that was up high and with a view and they gladly accommodated

Yelp
Great lounge, but far from old town. It's an easy walk to mall and places to eat. Our room was very nice and had a great view of the Andes. Great knowledgeable English speaking staff. The concierge lounge was particularly nice and well stocked at happy hour.

Yelp
Very typical Marriott property. Great, gracious staff eager to assist. Large old-style rooms, but the carpets are stained. The rooms seemed to have been upgraded not too long ago, however, they didn't seem to include new carpeting. Marble floors in the bathroom and a great tub for baths. The rooms have a large TV with a lot of channels and fridge, but no microwave. I enjoyed the views (front and left side). Great location, right next door to a large grocery store and home improvement center. A block away is a large/modern shopping mall with a restaurant avenue with many N. American restaurants and inside is a wonderful food court with both local and US eateries. You'll also find here, a stop for the Touristic hop on/off bus, which is a good way to see the city for your first visit (airline employees get 20% off). They have a very nice breakfast buffet with fresh omelets, sausage and bacon, breads, cereals, great fruit, waffles, potatoes and tomatoes au gratin. The pillows are the worst I've encountered, much too soft and quite uncomfortable. Next time I'll ask for something more firm. The 2nd stay, there was no plug near the bed for a CPAP machine.

Yelp
This is a beautiful hotel; gorgeous lobby with sports bar, nice artwork, nice design / architecture. There is an Executive Lounge for Marriott members with a fantastic view of the mountains (when not foggy) and a great breakfast bar that includes a honeycomb and even mimosas on weekends. The staff is very friendly & helpful. There is an enormous, sprawling mall nearby with great stores and fabulous restaurants.

Yelp
This is really a great hotel. I have stayed here several times and each time and greeted with a warm smile and I would sincerely and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone making the long trip down to Santiago. If you are a platinum member ask if you can have one of the rooms that ends in the number 10. They are more spacious and as a benefit you have a conference table at your disposal that you can use to conduct meetings at. The only drawback is the Latin Grill Restaurant, which despite trying comes up short in being a great eating establishment. There are several great places near Plaza Arauco that I would choose otherwise.

Yelp
I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott next door and it was nothing short of amazing. Great rooms great price amazing location right across the street from a shopping center. Couldn't have asked for a better location and stay! *TIP* book directly on their website you get more perks (like free wifi and cheaper breakfast inclusive rates).

Yelp
This is a beautiful Marriott with spectacular views of the Andes and excellent staff. Being that it was our first visit to Chile, it was nice to have friendly people to help us get acquainted with public transport and provide travel tips. Front desk associate, Ariel, was very helpful and attentive throughout our stay. The guest service he provided is what made our first experience in Santiago a pleasure.

Yelp
So so for a Marriott. Nice location in town. Good places to dine in the local area!
