Säntis - das Hotel

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. I surprised my husband with their weekend package for two for his birthday. The wellness area is lovely and the rooms are functional but stylish. The bed was very comfortable. We had breakfast and a three course meal included and they were both very nice. We were lucky to use our Bahn tickets on Saturday but if we had waited until Sunday we would have to have had postpone. I would clarify.

Spacious and stylish rooms, many with a prized view of Säntis or the surrounding woodlands. The breakfast consists of the usual continental selection, but at high quality and with an emphasis on regional produce. Apart from the hotel's restaurant and the summit, there are no other restaurants within easy reach. The seminar facilities are mediocre: they look great, but many lack basic equipment like projectors. Use of the coffee machine was also limited to designated break times.

We have stayed here many times in the winter months and have absolutely enjoyed it every time. The hotel itself is modern, beautiful and clean. The feeling of being right in the mountain is an incredible experience, not to mention the winter hiking paths that surround the property. The service is great from the reception staff and the restaurant staff. We love the local dishes they serve for dinner. The wellness is upscale and tranquil. When booking an appointment through e-mail, they are prompt, precise and friendly. I highly recommend staying here if you have the chance, you will not be disappointed!

The hotel is nice and the employees (with 1 exception) very friendly.|If you have the great view to the mountains, you face the loud street and parking. We faced the quied backside. The room has two windows, one with fly protection, the other without. The one with the fly protection is right next to the bed and if you open it completely, you have the corner of the window right above your head in the bed (a very well planned stupidity).|The food in the restaurant is ok, not extraordinary. Very annoying are the flies. There are so many of them.|When you sleep in this hotel you may go to the top of Säntis at a fare of just 22.- instead of 58.- which is a fair price. As breakfast was included in our stay it was acceptable, but if you would have to pay for it, leave it. It's far below average, way to many people for only few things and if you don't have a window place, you only have the view when you go outside.

We stayed as this hotel one night. The package for two included included dinner, breakfast and aable car ride to the top of Saentis mountain. The experience from start to finish was fantastic. We paid a little extra to reserve a parking space in the hotel garage but could not see our name/reservation in any of the spaces. Mentioned this at the reception who told us we could use any space that was not already reserved. We had a spectacular view from our room which was very comfortable and had everything one might need including slippers and dressing gowns which would be useful if using their spa facilities which we didn't but is also included in the package. We arrived too early for check-in (15.00) so took the opportunity to take the cable car up the mountain (10 mins ride). The 360 view is breathtaking, as is the whole area around the top which is amazingly well planned for all visitors with lifts or stairs to all floors: young, old, disabled. Dinner in the evening was a set menu which was very good, as was the breakfast buffet in the morning. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. I thoroughly recommend staying at this hotel and visiting the mountain if you can.

We enjoyed a one night stay which included a welcome drink, dinner, wellness and a trip up to the Santis on the gondola where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The lantern way walk is not to be missed and there is even hot punch offered for free along the trail. My tip would be to enjoy the spa facilities later in the afternoon and have a later dinner to avoid the crowds. There is a very interesting exhibition on weather up on the summit. Well worth a look. Everywhere the service was excellent.

This was our third visit to Santis, and the experience was great as always.|We love that the location is quiet and nature-oriented in both summer and winter. The staff is friendly, the service is good, and the rooms are comfortable (not sure we cared for the see-through curtain separating the bathroom though)... but the view .... the view is just amazing.||A special treat is a breakfast on top of the mountain at no additional charge (presuming you have a cable car ticket). ||We had a half-board package and - due to diet restrictions - the hotel worried we may not have enough choice from the set menu and they allowed us to choose from the main menu as well. So considerate --- and the set menu actually had more than enough options for us. The regional dishes are particularly nice.||It is not a question if we will be back for our fourth visit. Just a question of when.|

The structure of the hotel with solid concrete walls makes you feel protected, safe, and elegant. A feeling of prestige when you walk the facilities. The comfort of having a good hotel, an excellent restaurant, and being able to enjoy the cable car that takes you to the top of the Santi mountain is the best thing. The staff is very attentive, always smiling and with the best attention. The view of the rooms towards the snow-capped mountain gives you an indescribable peace. Really recommended 200%
