Why Oceania Riviera Is Fit for Food Lovers

"Wine is also front and center at another memorable moment — an excursion to a winery in Santorini, Greece. Our van driver weaves along narrow roads up steep hills, the Aegean a constant shimmering blue below. On a random roadside, we pull over so our guide can show us the grapevines. Growers cultivate the vines into low basket-like shapes, protecting the grapes from the sun, heat, and fierce island winds. We applaud nature and ingenuity before continuing to Santo Winery in Pyrgos, a village not far from Fira, Santorini’s capital." - Janice Wald Henderson

Nice experience for dinner 🍷🤩The view is incredible, the food delicious and the staff extremely friendly. Our waiter Johny was incredibly kind. It's a very nice place for a special dinner. There is a lot of space, it has parking and I recommend you to go at sunset. 🌅I ordered an octopus (very good) and a pink wine that was delicious. The prices are high, so think about that before you go. The cheapest dish is around 36 euros.

Such an amazing view, they could easily get away with the bare minimum but this place really impressed us for the quality of the service, food and wine. We didn’t know of any Greek wines b/f dinner but we enjoyed their sparkling (brut, dry enough for our French tastebuds) a dry white and a red. All were great. For dinner we went with a tapas menu of scallops, salad, sardines, and cheese and it was beautifully presented and delicious. Efhkaristo! It was wonderful 🙏

Beautiful winery in Santorini with a great selection of wines and some solid food options too. The place gets really crowded, and depending on where you're staying, it can be a bit far—so expect to pay extra for a transfer. Service was good, no complaints there. The main highlight, without a doubt, is the view. The sunset from there is absolutely unreal, one of the most breathtaking I’ve seen. That said, I found it extremely overpriced—even for Santorini standards. We spent around €300 for two and didn’t leave feeling full. So yeah, it’s worth it for the view, but if you're looking for a full dining experience, there are way better restaurants around the island.

We had such a great experience here!Came for dinner a year ago and we still talk about our meal here. Unfortunately it was too cloudy for sunset that day, but that was ok. We got a fight with our meal and our server would walk us through each wine when it was time to drink it. Which I loved and it let you enjoy the wines one at a time without feeling rushed to move to the next. It came with a sparkling, 2 whites, 1 red, and a dessert wine. We ended up buying a bottle of the grande reserve assyrtiko and vinsanto. They can ship to the US, but unfortunately not Canada or else we would’ve bought more. Dinner was delicious. We split the scallops, then my husband got the octopus and I got the fish of the day (I wish I could remember what it was) and it was sooo good! For dessert, we split the chocolate soufflé. Our server was great and attentive. We just wish they shipped to Canada… maybe next time!

Lovely dinner experience here. Staff are knowledgeable about pairing wines and friendly. Sunset view amazing. They offer wine tasting and tours. We ran out of time to book them unfortunately.

We did the full tour at Santos Wines, and it was packed with fascinating information about Santorini’s history and wine-making traditions. After the tour, we enjoyed a 6-glass wine tasting while taking in the most breathtaking views—an absolutely perfect setting to drink, relax, and soak in the beauty of the island. Highly recommend the experience!

The sunset view at Santo Wines is truly breathtaking, definitely the highlight of the visit and worth going for that alone. I tried both the premium wine flight and the 4-wine flight, but honestly expected more from the wines themselves. The presentation was very brief and rushed, all the wines were brought out at once with little explanation, which made the tasting feel more like a quick service than an experience. The food was okay, but nothing special. Great spot for the view, but the wine tasting and overall experience could be much better.

Nice winery with some great tasting wine. I booked the premium wine flight and I enjoyed all of them. The view from the winery is stunning and a great spot for photos and watching the sunset. The staff were very kind and explained each wine to me. The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is because this is a very busy winery which can make the indoor part loud and the experience much less personable. There was a storm at the time of my booking so I couldn’t sit outside but it looked like a great spot.
