Why Oceania Riviera Is Fit for Food Lovers

"Wine is also front and center at another memorable moment — an excursion to a winery in Santorini, Greece. Our van driver weaves along narrow roads up steep hills, the Aegean a constant shimmering blue below. On a random roadside, we pull over so our guide can show us the grapevines. Growers cultivate the vines into low basket-like shapes, protecting the grapes from the sun, heat, and fierce island winds. We applaud nature and ingenuity before continuing to Santo Winery in Pyrgos, a village not far from Fira, Santorini’s capital." - Janice Wald Henderson

We booked a dinner here, where you’re required to pay €60 upfront per adult, which is later credited toward your meal. Due to weather conditions, we sat indoors, and the venue felt a bit crowded and noisy. The food quality was mixed — the first course was excellent, but the main courses were mediocre and slightly undercooked. We also did a wine tasting, which was enjoyable. However, the main dishes took an extremely long time to arrive. The view from outside the restaurant is truly unique, but considering the high prices, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to expectations in terms of food quality and service.

The food was absolutely amazing ,fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The wine paired perfectly, and the view of the caldera at sunset made the experience unforgettable. Excellent service, great atmosphere, and truly memorable dining. Highly recommended!

Santo Wines is an absolute must-do in Santorini; the views are truly insane and cannot be beaten. The entire staff was incredibly lovely, helpful, funny, and attentive—making the experience wonderful. Three members of our group enjoyed the wine tasting, which was beautifully presented with a wine book for notes and generous snacks (cheese, meats, fruits, and crunchy breadsticks). My favorites were the white wines and the sparkling rose! The gift shop is great for buying smaller bottles or arranging to ship wine home. Overall, an incredible experience from start to finish. Highly recommended!

The view was beautiful. We tried one basic flight of four wines (2 whites, 1 red, 1 rose). Most of these wines were not particularly drinkable. We also had the flight of 5 premium wines which include 3 whites, 1 red and 1 dessert wine. The three premium whites were all very good. The red was the same wine as the basic flight (neither of us finished it - and we generally enjoy reds). The accompanying plate included cheese, olives, pretzels,a smoked eggplant tapinade. Sorry but none of it was particularly good (especially compared to warm bread and olive oil often served at other wineries). The service was friendly and efficient. The cost was about 100 Euros - and we wound up no finishimg about 4 out of the 9 glasses.

Visited Santo Wines for dinner ( we also visited 3 years ago and loved it ) the place is as spectacular as we remembered. The wines excellent, service amazing (special thanks to Mario) and also amazing food, you can really tell the quality. Tip: Get the oysters, the best oysters we have ever had. + one of the best sunset views

Santo wines is worth a visit. The staff are smart and professional which goes with the high end ambiance. We had a flight of 4 tastings which each came with cheese and crackery like bread which was amazingly yummy. The views are breathtaking and surreal. A beautiful time was had!

Great experience. The staff were so knowledgeable; they gave a great explanation about the pairings and the wines. The view is also incredible we spent extra time just looking around as the whole complex is a luxury experience. The shop also had some great finds in it. If your in Santorini its well worth a stop here. Its also much less crowded than some other areas.

Gorgeous views, beautiful setting, mediocre wines and a high price tag We visited Santo Wines Winery on Santorini with friends in August 2025 for a wine tasting experience. We were seated on the terrace overlooking the Caldera, enjoying the gorgeous views and light breeze. We opted for a 4-wine tasting package with pairing snacks. The presentation was beautiful, the snack dips and cheeses were delicious, however the wines themselves failed to impress - we only liked one out of four, and that was the consensus among all five of us. At €45 per person for a small amount of so-so wine, a few dips, cold cuts, and cheeses, the value wasn’t there. While the atmosphere and views are truly spectacular, we cannot recommend the tasting experience at Santo Wines based on wine quality and price.
