Santos Fuegos Holbox

From the outside of the restaurant you can feel the vibe, we were greeted and sat right away, the place was very crowded but they were prompt to help us. They bring a board with the menu and explain to you every dish, we ordered the Broccoli entree, basil salad and fish of the day. I can not explain the flavors in these dishes, never had anything like this and were foodies that love to try different places and flavors. It was a 10 on everything, ambience, flavors, service etc The place is also cute and very Holbox like. I would definitely recommend this place 100%! The price is worth it, you can tell they make everything from scratch and with great ingredients!

This place is simply amazing! Don’t miss it. I was looking for a place like that during my Mexico trip and only found it on my last night - elevated Mexican flavours but in chill vibe. Great dinner here. We were a group of 6 and loved everything we ordered. The beef ribs were amazing. Flat bread delicious. But the chocolate mousse dessert is to die for. Yummy 😋

We have the good fortune to eat with people in places all over the world, and our lives are occasionally enriched by the experience. Santos Fuegos is rightfully lauded for their food in these reviews, and I have nothing but love for the dishes Melisa and I shared for dinner: blue corn tart amuse bouche, slow roasted empanada, broccoli (such an amazing balanced dish), charred prawns (pre-split and an easy eat), easily could have ordered 2 more of this dish, but with great restraint we chose to enjoy the cornbread with ice cream to finish. The food alone doesn’t do the place justice. Julie was our host for dinner and was a great part of the experience for a memorable highlight of our trip to Holbox. Everything about their approach is a reflection of hospitality at the highest levels, levels we continue to talk about when reflecting on our most memorable meals. Well done Santos Fuegos

Probably the best meal we had during our almost two weeks in Holbox--which is saying a lot since there is so much good food on the island. Beautiful locally sourced ingredients expertly prepared over wood fire. Imaginative cocktails that escape pretentious tropes. Wonderful service. The intimate location is a bit off the beaten path but completely worth it (get a taxi or use a light source for your way back). I highly recommend making a reservation.

This was our first dinner on the island and I’m so glad we made extra effort getting there. Best meal hands down😌 the steak was AMAZING, so flavorful with perfect sides. Empanadas also tasty. The sashimi dish we had could use a bit less oil though. The cornbread dessert had nice presentation and was delicious. Overall definitely choose this place if you love unique flavors.

Santos Fuegos is a must-visit in Holbox for meat lovers! Hands down, it was the best meat I had on the island — grilled to perfection, rich in flavor, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The entire menu revolves around barbecue, and watching the talented chef work over the open flames adds something truly special to the experience. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxed, perfect for enjoying a great meal. While it’s a bit more expensive than other places on the island, the exceptional quality and care put into every dish make it well worth it. One small tip: a better smoke extractor could help reduce the smoke, which is expected with all the grilling, but could make the space even more comfortable. That said, it’s a minor note in an otherwise outstanding dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious food and a memorable evening in Holbox!

I normally don’t return to the same restaurant twice when on vacation let alone two nights in a row but Santos Fuegos was truly magical. The food is the best on the island, period. The staff is warm, friendly and the atmosphere is exactly what you want, busy, energetic and full of folks just happy to be there. Highlights were beef ribs, broccoli and empanadas but there is not a bad thing on this menu! If you have one meal in holbox, make sure it’s here!!!
