Santuario di Santa Maria dell'Isola di Tropea

If you have plenty of time in Tropea, it’s worth walking up to the Sanctuary to see the view overlooking the nearby beach and the cliff where the town is located. The sanctuary itself, in my opinion, isn’t particularly spectacular. We decided there was no real reason to enter the gardens. The cliff with the building is nicely illuminated at night, but it is better to enjoy this view from one of the viewpoints in town rather than from up here.

Beautiful church, definitely worth visiting and supporting the church. The church also has a prayer stand to write your prayers and drop it in the box, it has a large crucifix with Jesus, and a bench to kneel down to pray, english mass is sundays at 7pm. Worth visiting. There is a little holy gift shop inside the church, I bought a rosary and other religious gifts.

This is a beautiful church that was originally destroyed in the earthquake in the early nineteen hundreds. I forget the year but it levelled along with most of the area. It has since been rebuilt. To walk up the rock is easy to do. The views from above are amazing. We went on a windy day as you can see in your pictures and videos. Tropea is beautiful. I just wish they would build some elevators down to the sea.

Worth the trip to go up there. The church is beautiful, and there is singing. If you plan to enter the garden, better buy the tickets on the way up, so you don't have to go up and down several times. There is a shop coming up. Then ticket sales and up close to the church, there is a shop as well. The dress code for Italian churches does not apply here. Just saying 🙂

Stunning beachside viewpoint with panoramic coastal views. But the garden was closed on Sunday.

Nice place. Interesting architecture of the building. This temple is still united in a big city. Unfortunately, this temple has not yet become a viscid city card. Here you can make file pictures. I recommend to visit. The temple doors are always open for tourists. Entrance to the temple is free.

A must-see while in Tropea. Both the church and the panoramic views are out of this world
