"A small producer from Bungendore whose wines were singled out as superb; at the time of the visit the cellar door was in development but the bottles impressed and the operation has since opened to the public." - Nina Caplan
after the wine tasting of three other sapling yard wines, the choice was the shiraz Viognier, which has a silky but bold flavor and leaves a great after taste. It is a slightly higher alcohol content of 13.2% but it’s unnoticeable. Paired very well with a simple home cooked Italian dish

Tonight popped in early and had a wine tasting and a shared cheese plate. The wine was super delicious. I didn’t catch the sommelier’s name but he introduced the wines and shared so much terrific information about the region. The wine and cheeses from Tilba Tilba with the Wamboin apple 🍎 were the superstars!!!! So wonderful to be able to support a gifted local producer. Do yourself a favour and go try Sapling Yard Wines.

Down to earth, chilled out cellar door with great service. All the red wines are excellent, particularly the SGM, Gamay and Shiraz viogner. Affordable and delicious wines, comfy atmosphere and no pretentiousness in sight, finally.
