How This Resort Is Redefining Dining in the Caribbean - AFAR

"Dining in a garden setting by the sea, the menu pairs refined presentations with island produce: crispy conch fritters that give way to briny osetra caviar, buttery lobster with hollandaise served alongside golden potatoes and broccolini, and a light Bahamian pavlova topped with white chocolate mousse and tropical fruit for a fresh, elegant finish." - AFAR

I enjoyed a course menu with wine pairings. Every dish was tasty with local flavor. I missed taking photo of desserts, which was also beautiful and tasty. Live music and warm welcome of staff made the dinner unforgettable.

This place was amazing! The setting is an old home and the moment we walked in, we were treated like family. Our server, "Earl the Pearl" was awesome; so friendly, and make excellent recommendations. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was perfect, not "stuffy" just relaxing. They even serenaded me with "Happy Birthday". There was a pianist playing familiar tunes as well. I felt the prices were very reasonable. They even provided free transportation back to our hotel afterwards. If/when our travel leads us back to Nassau, we would definitely dine here again.

Cannot recommend enough. Staff is super super welcoming and sweet. Drinks are great as well as food. Decoration is beautiful. It's a very fancy restaurant but the prices are not that much higher than other restaurants in Bahamas. There's a free shuttle to take you home after.

BEAUTIFUL grounds and restaurant! We were blessed to have Earl as our server who taught us so much about the island while entertaining our appetites. This was our first culinary experience on the island and it will be hard to top this! We had the snapper for dinner and ice cream with garden fruit for dessert and couldn’t recommend more!! Oh and loveddd the piano player!

Absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend!! The service is first class and will not disappoint. That said I'd like to give a big shout out to Earl. He made our anniversary dinner experience at Sapodilla feel like dining with close family. He has great attention to detail and is just a wonderful down to earth gentleman. I'd also like to say thank you to the pianist who sang an anniversary song for us. What a truly magical experience to be blessed by her graceful talents. The food is well seasoned and while being on the fine dining side it clearly is rooted in the cultural flavors of the Bahamas. That said I would highly recommend the red snapper and or the pork belly as entrees. Again I highly recommend you visit!

This is a beautiful venue with great service. So you would expect the best of everything. The atmosphere was so nice. A woman played piano while we ate and took suggestions for music. A few of the dishes were made table-side. The Caesar salad was really good. So was the dessert. We had the banana flambe. The menu was limited, and the items we wanted were not available. I believe you can order a car to pick you up and take you back to your hotel, but you should ask. Overall, it was a nice experience. I took a star off due to the limited menu items and small dishes.

I'm really disappointed in the experience here because I so wanted to like it. I've visited the property in the past for special events and my parents really love the restaurant for special occasions, so I was excited to give it a try. But it was pretty underwhelming. The property and the history are amazing, and I really wish the restaurant lived up to that precedent. The food is very ok - menu items not too inspired and portions are tiny for the price. Tbh I went home and ate something more satisfying after this. The style of service wants to pass itself off as 5-star, but it just falls flat - everything felt very casual instead of high-end like I was expecting and it seemed service staff couldn't find that line between checking in too much/doing too much and being friendly yet professional. Like I said, my parents love this place so maybe it's just not for me. But I think it could benefit from revamping the menu and deciding whether it wants to be 5-star or casual dining.

My husband and I could not get over how amazing the food and service were. And the estate itself is reason enough to eat there. Trevor are waiter who was so much more than that, he whipped up bananas foster right in front of us. The pianist was beautiful as well, dedicated a song to us. Again, what an amazing place! You must try!
