Sapphire Beach

Beautiful beach with emerald shore. Nice and warm water. Grape trees create shade, you can take a break from the sun. And beautiful and colorful fish create a wonderful mood.

My family returns to St. Thomas every year at Thanksgiving and we always stay at a resort at Sapphire Beach. There are several resorts here so you have options. This beach is perfect because of its location to the resorts. It also has an amazing restaurant and bar attached for convenience. It’s pricey, but you could literally stay here for the entire week and not leave. If you like snorkeling there is plentiful options around the coral just off the center portion of the beach. Location to Red Hook is also awesome for other places to eat, the yacht club and fresh food markets. We’ve found our forever spot and will always return to Sapphire Beach!

Sapphire beach was nice, white sand, warm water (too warm on a hot day for me) the beach and atmosphere was perfect especially overlooking the islands in the back. We came here for snorkeling and were disappointed. There are fish, don’t get me wrong, seeing the grass growing in the shallow water was cool. But the fish variety were disappointing considering there were a lot of reviews about snorkeling. Maybe I came at a bad time. Not sure. It would have been nice to have a better snorkeling experience as expected from the hype.

Weird how you need to access the beach through the bar, which is full with young college kids. Otherwise the beach and the islands view were nice

If I were traveling to St. Thomas regularly I might not post such a glowing review as I’d like to keep this a bit of a secret. This is a great beach with fine sand, shade, easy access to reasonable snorkeling as well as a good beach bar. It’s about a 20 min cab ride from Charolette Amalie that currently costs $30 for two people.

Beautiful beach with lots of fish, friendly iguanas and other wildlife. My kids had fun snorkeling as I sat on a blanket in the shade from the grape trees. There is a bar, restaurant, store, bathroom, etc. It was a little crowded though, especially since you have to dodge the reef to swim around. Also the sand was course with lots of rocks.

Such a nice beach! Some great snorkeling around too!! My family got to see up close Stringrays, Eaglerays, tons of fish, Sea Urchins. It's been a great experience for me kids to the Caribbean for sure! Staff takes good care of the beach. Beach chair rentals, along with arts and crafts. They have a bar with food, pizza and a fancy up scale to dine at.

Awesome snorkelling and beach! We came on a bit of a rough and windy day, but even then the ocean biodiversity here was incredible — we saw many species of fish, multiple kinds of stingray, and even a sea turtle! The beach is well equipped with lounge chairs and has snorkel gear for available for rent.
