We only stayed here one night, but I really loved it!! The place is so cute. It's a step back in time... In a good way. Free promotional matchbooks which are super cute, a coffee lounge with games and a book exchange, and the bed was so comfortable. Clean rooms, clean bathrooms with well draining shower/tubs, and really cute glasses in each room to use

Such a fun late 50s/early 60s vibe!! Details in the rooms and lobby are amazing! Very clean! Spacious rooms. Great "yard" with swings, grill and retro seating. Loved that they provided a white noise machine and earplugs for the room, although we didn't need them! Our room was very quiet. Walkable to Main Street.

Look no further …The Sapphire Motel is a wonderful place to stay! It was centrally located for our needs with easy access to the airport, local attractions, and within walking distance to downtown Bozeman. The Montana Room #54, was spic-and-span clean, comfortable, and quiet. (The room looked as nice as the photos on the motel’s website, and it was so clean, it almost felt like everything in the room was new!) There was also a small gift waiting for us in the room – so thoughtful! This well-maintained property may appear historic and retro, but it is modern throughout. Throughout our stay I interacted frequently with Hanna at the front desk, who was very pleasant and helpful. The lobby refreshment area was very much appreciated. It was convenient to be able to pick up free tea or coffee when desired, and the informal library had a variety of books and games. There were also comfortable tables and chairs in the refreshment area where you could plan your day while relaxing with your coffee or chat with fellow travelers. Each room has a patio that faces the well-kept grounds for additional outdoor relaxation. I look forward to staying at The Sapphire Motel in the future and will recommend it to friends and family as well.

Such a cute little place! My best friend and I are two girls in our 30s doing a little trip around the state. The room was perfectly comfy, easy to access, clean, and the front desk crew were as kind as can be! There’s a precious little courtyard area with a swing-set and a grill. It’s not a fancy hotel by any means, but clean, safe, and very well taken care of.

Google
100 percent recommend! I would stay here a 1000 times over. The motel is precious with a fun retro theme. The staff is awesome, especially Mrs. Donna. She was so helpful and sent us to great restaurants. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Don’t pass this gem up!

This is the cutest motel! The retro decor is amazing! The motel is clean, and the service was excellent. We had a 2Q patio room, and it was extremely spacious. It was great to sit outside on the big grassy center. There were yard games and swings, so our daughter was entertained and able to run around. We will be staying here again!

I was looking forward to our stay since I saw this place on the Internet and made the reservations!! Wow!!! I had high expectations and the Sapphire exceeded them by a wide margin. Oh my gosh, Megan was amazing as was her replacement behind the welcome (check-in desk) the next morning. Megan made us feel like long-time friends and her excitement over our excitement regarding our rooms and lobby area was lots of fun. When I was a kid, our last roadtrip before my Dad died in 1959 was to St. Pete, Florida. I have vivid memories of our stays along the roadways and the Sapphire happily brought them all back. Plus, we had such a kick with my wife and I demonstrating rotary dial telephones to our grandkids. The rooms were huge and the beds were super comfortable. Yikes, got to mention the furnishings which could have come out of my Mom’s house circa early 1960’s. Fun, Fun and more Fun.

Our party of 5 absolutely LOVED the Sapphire Motel in Bozeman! It was so cute and eclectic! The rooms were updated but with a vintage flair and really clean and nice! Our room had a single sized coffee maker, refrigerator, towels for everyone and 2 comfy beds! Right outside of our room through a sliding glass door was a playground for our daughter and sitting areas for multiple people, including a gazebo with barbecue pit. The lobby even had vintage games and books for you to read along with free coffee, tea or hot chocolate! I highly recommend the Sapphire Motel for anyone looking for a great place to stay while visiting Yellowstone! Was within walking distance of downtown and many restaurants and businesses also!

Yelp
I had a wonderful stay here. Though the motel is an older property with a retro style, the level of cleanliness of the rooms was impeccable. My room was exceptionally quiet and the bed was very comfortable. One other plus to consider is that its location is far more convenient to downtown Bozeman than the chain hotel located closer to I-90.

Yelp
Super cute mid-century modern-style motel in Bozeman, a short drive to the main strip with many restaurants and shops. I think they were still in the process of renovating the bathroom in our room, but we didn't mind the older tub for one night, and especially not for the great rate. The sheets were clean, and the bed was cozy. The room itself wasn't cramped either but a good size, and they offered coffee and tea in the little lounge off the main office. The best area in my opinion is the living room they've created in the Sapphire office; go check out the beautiful furniture, and the television still works!

Yelp
First time exploring Bozeman, saw an article for first timers and the Sapphire Motel was mentioned as a nice inexpensive place to stay. Family owned yet keeping up the the old fashioned decor (plus updates) are a nice. Staff was really wonderful. Goldie the front desk manager is a delight to deal with. Love to support the local establishments vs. chain properties. Very clean in all areas. Located close to downtown Main Street and we would definitely stay here again. Free coffee in mornings. People must like this place as well, because it was full of guest. Experience a motel from back in the day - it's worth it for sure.

Yelp
This motel sets a high bar for our future travels! Fast, friendly check-in. A parking spot with our room number right out front of our room guarantees convenience. Bright, colorful, thoughtful, mid-century decor with lots of cute touches. Modern bathroom, rain showerhead (the best part of the room), all appliances work like new. Comfy beds. Beautiful garden space with chairs, picnic table, swings, grass, trees, even a grill. Next time I come to Bozeman I will go out of my way to stay here again. It's central to everything. It was a delight to stay here!

Yelp
Very nice old school motel with comfortable, recently renovated rooms. Staff was super friendly. The lobby has a bunch of vintage stuff in it from Rock Em Sock 'Em Robots to an old TV. Free coffee in morning was delicious from a local cafe. It lacks a lot of stuff that you might find in a chain hotel, but that's what makes this place special. Give it a try.

Yelp
This hotel is really great value. For a reasonable nightly rate you can stay in clean and nicely furnished rooms a few blocks from downtown Bozeman. The staff is friendly and there is a nice coffee shop called Nexus in the lot.

Yelp
Lovingly restored and very clean, this motor inn is absolutely a terrific deal for newly bougee Bozeman. Located very close to Main Street with plenty of parking and a coffee stand conveniently located in the middle of the u shaped property. Rooms are clean, modern, and continue to have the mid century flourish that provides that charm. Beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are as nice as any mid tier chain and the convenience of a door fronting the parking lot can't be overstated. Perhaps I'm reflecting on nostalgia but it sure is nice not having to wander past a front desk. Don't get me wrong, front desk folks are terrific here and are readily available to provide assistance and guidance for anything local. Heck, I got a suggestion for a steakhouse in Belgrade that was terrific! Definitely will return next time through.

Yelp
A landmark since the 40's / 50's the Sapphire is a true gem. For 50 years, four generations of the Bendz-Klatt family have faithfully assumed the stewardship of this iconic property. Less expensive than the Quality Inn and Super 8 near the airport and soooo much nicer! The guy at the front desk recommended some spots for live music and we had an fabulous evening. The rooms are painted in fun colors and furnished mid century modern. Even the bathroom fixtures are chrome plated and reminiscent of the 50's. For fun, there's a device that simulates the sounds of a roaring fire. We played Sinatra and got in the mood. Of course the snow falling outside was an added bonus! Don't forget the complimentary coffee and flavored water in the lobby.

Yelp
I would not recommend this hotel for one major reason, the drive up parking in front of your room. I don't like the fact that you are listening to the neighbors come and go all night long. Also, people think it's OK to sit on the porch in front of their room and talk loud all night, which is literally outside of your window, and our neighbors were smoking weed, and smoking cigarettes which seep through the windows, and wake us up or make us feel ill. Other than that the shower head was bad and the water pressure was weak- hard for women to wash hair.

Yelp
It a very quaint motel.50's style decor. If ya don't mind a short walk, downtown is right there .

Yelp
Retro 50's motel! This place is cool! It's located on the main street that connects the airport with the main part of town. It's an old-fashioned style motel, complete with an animated neon sign out in front! I found parking right in front of my room- convenient! The coolest thing about this motel was the bathroom fixtures. Seriously. This was one of the nicest toilets I've ever used in my life. Swish! The bathroom mirror was bluetooth capable- I don't know for what, but it was. The sink was some of the finest porcelain, and the shower was super luxurious. I don't know why, but these bathroom fixtures, all made by the same company that I've never heard of were really nice! The room was clean, had comfortable beds, and a nice view of a grassy square that was in the middle of the "U" shaped lodging area. The staff was friendly, and contacted me when I was running late, and told me that they'd stash the keys in an old tree trunk with lock boxes on it by the main office. The main office has the ice, and lots of literature on things to do in the area. The front desk clerk was friendly and professional when I was checking out.

Yelp
I would prefer to give it 4 1/2 stars if possible as my criticism are semi-minor and it has to do with the no towel hanging capability's near the bath tub and getting the drapes to close tightly in my room; otherwise I enjoyed so much more than the hotels near I-90. I loved that the door was only feet from my car, so unloading was easy--it is a one story refurbished motel. Staff was polite.price was a little high for no breakfast, but location in central Bozeman was great with tons of nearby eateries. I was concerned about the noise from local bars, nightclubs or street, but it was a non issue, nor-did I hear my neighbors--yeah! I did awaken to a train horn in the night, which was surprising since no tracks nearby. I had stayed off I-90 the previous week and was awoken 5 times in The middle of night with train horns blasting-a miserable night, that was solved by staying at The Sapphire Inn in downtown Bozeman.

Yelp
A great Motel newly remodeled and very clean. We had pizza delivered and we ate under the gazebo. A place for the family.

Yelp
Super cute place. Absolutely love the old school vibe with the decor. Amazing bed- had a great night's sleep. Good size TV. The midnight check in was easy. I only wish there were blinds so we could sort of have the windows open without anyone being able to look in. The shower was deliciously hot- just wish it had a bit more pressure. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Yelp
What a great little place! It's super convenient, very reasonably priced in a town that seems a bit more expensive each time I come, and we were even able to get a room with 3 beds so we didn't have to get two rooms! Loved it and will definitely come back.
