Sarai at Toria

One of the most wonderful places I have ever visited. The wildlife is exceptional. Joanna and Raghu are outstanding hosts and make you feel so welcome. The food is utterly delicious. They are so knowledgeable about the tigers and wildlife. The naturalists and botanists who accompanied us were exceptional. My only sadness was we couldn't stay longer but it was a truly outstanding experience and I can't wait to return.

We absolutely loved our stay here with Joanna and Raghu.|The setting is so peaceful and the design of the buildings blends so well with the surroundings. Raghu explained all about the building and architecture which was fascinating. |Both Joanna and Raghu are so knowledgeable about the animals, plants etc. |They make you feel so welcome, Joanna was so helpful|The food was exceptional and local excursions can be arranged. The walk to the local village was well worth doing, a lovely experience. |It was my husband's birthday while we were there and even though I hadn't told them, they put on the most wonderful evening for us. Setting our evening meal in the garden which was all lit up, it was glorious. |I really didn't want to leave!|I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

A wonderful place to stay. Great hospitality. It was like staying with friends. The food was amazing, every meal a delight. Our game drives beautifully organised and other activities easy to enjoy. The rooms were very comfortable and so peaceful. Our hosts made the stay exceptional.

We stayed at Sarai @ Toria for two nights and did river boat trip and two safaris. |Our hosts and their team members were very kind, attentive and knowledgeable. We liked our accommodation immensely and all the meals were delectable.|All in all, a superb experience!|I wish we had planned a longer stay to take in the nature walk in addition to the boat trip.|Visiting Sarai @ Toria is strongly and highly recommended for all those who care for and respect nature and natural way of living.

We had the most amazing stay and didn’t want to leave! J and R are wonderful hosts who made such a special effort for us all on Christmas Day. ||Their ethos of sustainability runs through the beautiful lodge, its gardens and considered trips. There are only 8 bungalows and the private safaris and trips made it even more special. ||The food is amazing - and we had wonderful salad and fruit we could eat! ||The staff are very friendly and so accommodating and the guides/naturalists very knowledgeable. ||The walk to the village gave a proper insight into real life here and the boat trip was so peaceful. We tried all three safaris and saw lots, including a majestical tiger! ||We would thoroughly recommend a stay here; a perfect place to experience calm among nature and to immerse yourself in bird song and animal calls. A very welcome break from the noisy hubbub of Indian city life. 🙏🩷

What can we say about the stay with Joanna & Raghu at The Sarai at Toria? Take me back there please! After spending two days in the madness of Delhi, we arrived into the peace and serenity of The Sarai. We were immediately made to feel part of the family and taken to our wonderful lodges. Peace and tranquillity. Nature and beauty, combined with our exceptional hosts, who are so passionate and knowledgeable about this part of India. Their great team spoilt us utterly and we wanted for nothing. Everything made us feel like we were totally at home.|The Sarai obviously gave us the opportunity to experience the Panna Tiger reserve, which did not disappoint and the trip out to the local village and on a boat on the river below the Sarai, two further highlights. Not to be missed and I hope we get to visit again one day.

Raghu & Joanna are the absolute perfect hosts. The lodge is beautiful. The food is fantastic. The views to die for. The peace and quiet is priceless. The evening river boat trip was my highlight. The Safari was enjoyable but don't expect to see any Tigers just enjoy the ride and scenery. The Temples a must see too. Local walks just great too. All in all the best thing on our 6 centre Indian holiday and this was our 5th visit to the country. Tray and stay at least 3 nights.

Sarai at Toria is a very special place, which puts you under its spell from the moment you arrive.||The rooms are well-designed, very comfortable and spotless, the home cooked (and grown) food is plentiful and tasty, and the staff so helpful and welcoming. Every time we had been out we were greeted back with cold drinks and questions about how our trip had been. Early safaris were sent off with a tasty breakfast to be consumed half way through. Naturalist Rutvik was so informative and friendly, manager Piyush was on top of anything that needed doing.||Safaris are quite noisy affairs, as the park allows a high number of vehicles in the same area, but Sarai have no control at all over this. ||Our lovely hosts, Joanna and Raghu, were around most of the time and joined guests for pre-dinner drinks and chats each night.||Just after we had left Sarai our flight looked as if would be cancelled, Joanna realised that we may need help and contacted me out of the blue with info about alternatives, and then wanted to know we had made it safely to our destination. This was way above what I would expect.||We very much hope to work Sarai into whatever itinerary we set for our next trip to India…….
