This heritage hotel is well-located for the historic Ipoh Old Town.
Our room was up two flights of steep stairs and when we arrived there was no-one to help us with our big suitcases up to the room. The reception girl seemed to be a temp and was not much capable of helping with luggage other than taking our day packs so it took two of us (small women) to haul each suitcase slowly up the stairs.
To be fair, on our departure day, the manager was on duty and arranged for someone behind the scenes to take our luggage down to the lobby while we were out for the morning.
The room was comfortable with aircon, a kettle and two bottles of water. There was a water dispenser on the ground floor where we could top up with free water. The hotel and a true local heritage feel and reminded me of my grandparents' house long ago here in Malaysia. The shower was efficient and powerul.
The housekeeping lady Jeveeta was super lovely and helpful as was the manager Sharon.
There is no breakfast or food available and also no fridge in the room. However, there is a communal fridge in the kitchenette area on the ground floor where the water dispenser is and we stored a few items there. There are lots of breakfast places within 2-3 mins walk nearby including an associated coffeeshop next door, which we did not get round to trying.
