Excellent environment, staff, and food. Delicious, and beautifully decorated. There’s a nice fire pit in the back. The ceiling is gorgeous. There is so much art work to appreciate. And friendly locals are all around!

Yelp
This is the cutest little cafe in the cutest town. I came in for breakfast at about 10:45 but by the time I got to the front of the line there was only one person ahead of me it was five minutes later but they had still stopped serving breakfast. Luckily for me they still let me have the avocado toast which was an everything bagel cream cheese avocado tomato and everything bagel seasoning on the top it was pretty delicious. It would've been even better if they would've toasted the bagel slightly. My husband order the ham bacon cheddar wrap. He said it was good, and very filling. Both of our sandwiches came with fruit which was just one piece of pineapple and mostly cantaloupe and honeydew melon. It was ripe and delicious. Our daughter ordered the PB & J. ITT was pretty standard. I also had a latte which was good. I just loved the decor in their place. Such a great vibe.

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday when we were driving from St. Louis and Louisville (it's about 9 miles off of 64). New Harmony is such a cute town and this cafe follows suit! The inside of the cafe and bar is eclectic, quaint, and comfortable. There is an outdoor patio with about 7 tables - and it is dog friendly! (It is difficult to find a place to stop and eat along 64 when traveling with a dog.) My husband got a couple of beers which were each about $5 and very good. He ordered the club which is closer to a grilled ham and Swiss with bacon rather than the stereotypical club sandwich; because he didn't read the description and had different expectations for his meal, my husband was slightly disappointed about this. I had the chicken salad salad which was very generously portioned. Prices are comparable to a stop at Panera. Food is fresh and service is friendly!

Yelp
Good coffee selection. Good icecream, cookies and scones. Friendly service and charming dining area on the corner of town, might add a cute full of character town to wander about and burn off the sweet calories.

Yelp
Sara's has many options and they were all busy on this festival weekend. The patio is beautiful and a great place to sit out the wait with your group if the kitchen is backed up. Options : Smoothies , Coffee, and Ice cream bar Strawberry and Banana Smoothie - delightful Frappuccino- delightful Iced Dirty Chai- delightful Ice cream bar - they closed a few minutes before my arrival when l wanted ice cream , seems the town hours are plus or minus 8am -8pm Meals - you will not go wrong with their menu so pick your favorites. They were sold out of the quesadilla at lunch so I ordered the Ham and Cheese sliders on a pretzel bun with potato salad, excellent! They accommodated my toddler. He is a picky eater and they stopped serving breakfast at 11. They made a side order of breakfast sausage which he loved. Wine Bar- did not partake but the full chilled bottles some had at their tables looked superb.

Yelp
Sara's is a terrific cafe in the center of town. And it's worth the stop. You need coffee, espresso, or a latte? They can handle it. Salad, soup or sandwich for lunch? Check. A pastry or ice cream for snack or dessert? Choose from have several flavors and varieties. My Reuben was divine. Heavenly. The homemade Thousand Island was on the side so I could add just the right amount. Sandwiches came with a side. Mine was perfectly creamy coleslaw. The Chicken Salad Salad was hand made pulled chicken salad on top of a bowl of mixed greens. It was large enough for two. Most salads and sandwiches were north of $10. That might seem pricey, but with Sara's being practically the only lunchtime spot for miles around of this tourist community we're fortunate they didn't charge more.

Yelp
Sara's was inadvertently the central point of our entire visit. Culinarily, it is open for the lunch we needed with pretty standard fare expertly executed. The food is on the high end of what I like to pay for lunch, but the sandwiches and quiche were both excellent. Surprisingly, the broccoli salad was the high point with amazing flavor! Geographically, the shop sits right smack dab in the center of town with the trails and photo spots to the north and antiquing to the south. You will pass by the building multiple times a day if you spend time in town. Chronologically, the wine bar is one of the few spots open late. And when I say late, I mean, like 8 p.m. The wine bar pushed it into 5 star territory for me. With decor that carries over the old-fashioned whimsy of the main building and ups it with giant circus advertisements, I really liked the vibe. There is a great little "alley" seating area to the side that is also dog-friendly (Hi, George!). The bartender was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable about the area and just plain fun to talk to! The wine and beer selection (no liquor) wasn't especially deep, but definitely broad enough to meet most tastes.

Yelp
What a precious and cool restaurant! Wish I lived closer because I would go there weekly or maybe even daily ha ha. Awesome food, great service, fresh menu.

Yelp
Wonderful space and yummy food. We tried the sliders on a pretzel bun and they were fantastic. The Magic Coffee is also a winner - especially if you like sweet drinks.

Yelp
This a nice cafe and wine bar. They have a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items and a pretty extensive coffee and tea menu. The best thing is the Bliss ice cream. It's the best! We had a sandwich and quesadilla. Their homemade tortilla chips are delicious.

Yelp
Cute cafe with excellent service. I had an iced chia and the spinach red pepper quiche. The quiche came with a fruit bowl too. The quiche was interesting...Swiss and red bell peppers on the bottom, eggs in the middle and spinach on top. The crust could have been cooked a bit more. The cheese on the bottom and crust kind of blended together. Not my normal experience with quiche but a tasty lunch nonetheless.

Yelp
We had the breakfast plate. It had eggs your choice of meat and French toast. The portions were right in and the French toast was awesome. The price was comparable to eating at a breakfast chain restaurant. We will go back when in the area again!!

Yelp
I had the plate breakfast last Saturday morning. The best scrambled eggs I've eaten in a restaurant since I can't remember when, 4 pieces of bacon, and great French toast. They were short staffed but so friendly and the service was still quick.

Yelp
The good It's a neat place with a nice atmosphere the portions were good size. The bad it's not very clean at all and seemed to have a fly infestation there was one stuck in the sauce that came with my turkey panini.

Yelp
Not our first time here, but excellent as always. Awesome sandwiches and a great selection of craft beer and hard to find wines. A must try! Great as always!!

Yelp
Great place to stop and have a glass of Harmonie Bier. The building used to be a Furniture business and is now a really neat restaurant. They have very good beer and wine.

Yelp
Sara has done a great job at filling so many voids in this idyllic small town! We stopped in for lunch and to try the in basement nano brewery Raintree. The place wasn't busy but the business was steady the whole time we were there. The building on the corner has been nicely renovated and includes lots of neat features of days past and local history. My partner and I both had the broccoli cheddar soup and commented that it tasted as if it were actually based in puréed broccoli instead of heavy on the cheddar or broth filler like other places - yum! My chicken salad croissant was a little dry but the goat cheese and jelly dip more than made up for it - I'd eat nothing but that if possible! The beers didn't disappoint, either! Sara was very friendly and let us taste them before buying. They had 6 on tap at the time. Unfortunately for my partner their IPA wasn't ready yet - he wasn't a huge fan of the Blonde. I loved the chocolate stout, though! Pure gold. Locals told us later in the day that it's the place to go on Friday evenings, and it looks like they might do other events given the large projector and screen. Though we did not partake, they also have full service coffee and a selection of over 100 wines! We look forward to coming back!

Yelp
Stopped for lunch with our family on our way to Louisville. When ordered our sandwiches and salads at 12:45. Didn't get our food until 2:40. Our small grandkids were starving. They should have told us there was a wait for our food. Our Kids ordered their food right after we ordered. It took them another 15 mins to bring their food out after ours. They ordered the same thing as us. I don't know how they can run a business like that. The food was good, but I would not come back. Wasted our whole afternoon in this restaurant.Cranberry Almond

Yelp
What an adorable and friendly restaurant in New Harmony! So glad we ventured off the beaten path to check out this cute little town. The chicken teriyaki grilled cheese is definitely one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, the goat cheese salad and grilled cheese were also fantastic. The restaurant is connected to a nice wine and beer bar that serves harmonie beer based off of a recipe from the first beer brewed in Indiana. If you are driving through like we were do yourself a favor and take a 10 mile detour to new harmony (very cool history). If you're in the area seek this place out it's great!

Yelp
We loved eating here. The food was delicious, especially the Sausage Tortilini Soup. The service was excellent and we loved the atmosphere of the place. We were very impressed and would love to eat here again if we are ever in the neighborhood. After eating at this delightful establishment, we walked around town and we were totally amazed at how lovely, clean, and neat it was everywhere. Such a beautiful community.

Yelp
We LOVE Sara's!! I have known Sara most of my life and her establishment is unique and very welcoming! We stop a lot on Sunday's in warm weather to have ice cream and drinks! My daughter loves the ice cream, i love the scones and wine, and my husband loves cookies and beer. Everything we have ever tried has be amazing! Friendly staff also!

Yelp
Very quaint restaurant in a picturesque town. Great stop for a light breakfast or lunch, before a waltz around New Harmony or, like us, before family pictures. Staff is very friendly and atmosphere is warm with good music and eye catching pictures of historic New Harmony. Would love to come back while the bar's open! Also have icecream which is a big bonus!

Yelp
Great atmosphere! A group of 7 of us sat around a big table on the patio listening to music and sharing appetizers and wine (as well as drinking their great local beers on tap). Everything was amazing! I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
In my experience food in small towns is typically just so so at best so I was surprised to find the food at Sara's wasn't just good but great. We live in a town where we can get just about anything and very good at that and Sara's was as good if not better than many of our favorite restaurants. I ordered the pesto kale soup which for some might now sound good but actually was fantastic. I let my wife try some and she did not want to give it back. Another highlight was the soft pretzel sticks. They seemed home made, soft, warm, and buttery. They were super good. We'll be back for more of these for sure as my wife loves pretzels having lived in Philly for years. I also ordered a large goat cheese walnut and cranberry salad. It also was super good. But the best part was the raspberry vinegarette which also seemed homemade. I liked it much better than others I had because it wasn't overly vinegary. It as a bit more mild and thick like syrup. Even the Mac and cheese we order for our daughter was gourmet good. Definely not out of a box. I ended up finishing up my self it was so good. Everything was so good we went back twice more in a day. We bought the lavender cookies (3 bags worth) which were off the hook good made with real lavender flowers. I ended our experience there with homemade pumpkin pie. Best pumpkin pie I've had in a while. Super pleased with this restaurant. And I haven't even talked about the unique and authentic ambiance.

Yelp
This place has potential, but as it is, Gordon Ramsay would throw a fit. Dirty tables, dead bugs next to the seating, seriously nasty. I sort of wandered around looking for a table that didn't gross me out. So I went outside, onto the nice patio. Perfect spot. The salad was great and big, but it was difficult to completely trust that it was safe to eat. The soup was congealed and completely unappetizing. I tried it against my best judgement and it was foul. Absolutely not homemade. I feel bad because they were very kind, but it's the truth. They seriously need to deep clean that place.

Yelp
I would NOT recommend this restaurant. The owner was not welcoming and just completely mean! The only staff that was nice to us was Donna. The food was good and the atmosphere was adorable. Too bad the owner does not take pride in her customers. We were a group of 8 and all of us were just flabbergasted by how we were treated. Needless to say, none of us will ever go back to that place. Don't waste your time or money there.

Yelp
I loved this place! We'd never been to New Harmony before, but traveled town for Kuntsfest 2017. We stumbled upon the little cafe and wine bar and went in to get a drink. The owner was extremely friendly and got us drinks right away. Their Hefeweisen beer is the best I've ever had! A bit sweeter and darker than most Hefs, it was very smooth with fantastic body. We also tried their Oktoberfest, Dark Lager, and Blonde Ale, and all were exceptional at very reasonable prices. I appreciated that all the beers were brewed onsite, and though we couldn't buy a growler because it was Sunday, we'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I love everything in this town and this place is no exception. We stopped in for a glass of vino and bier and so glad we did. The owner/operator spent some time showing us around the store and giving us the history on some of their items housed there. Super nice and friendly folks there! The gentleman serving our wine let me taste several before deciding and also poured us a glass of the original bier which is really a great bier! Would love to have spent a little more time here and certainly will the next time we come. They have a wonderful and eclectic selection of wine for purchase as well. We ended up coming back the next morning for the other 1/2 of this place, the restaurant and coffee shop and I must say, their cranberry almond scones are OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD!! YUM!! I would highly recommend this lovely place!

Yelp
The food was good, so was the iced tea. I like the atmosphere and everyone was really friendly.

Yelp
An eclectic lunch stop with less than exciting food. The atmosphere was perfect; however, the food was nothing you can't make at home. The quiche was ok, the quesadilla was basic (jar salsa), and it was just average potato salad with the ham and cheese sliders. It could be wonderful with some locally sourced ingredients and a little imagination on the menu.
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
My husband and I spent the better part of a Saturday afternoon here as we were in town for a wedding. Prices are extremely reasonable and the food was fresh and tasty. He ordered a chicken quesadilla and it looked delicious. We had to go next door to purchase beer and wine and that service was a little slow for me. Definitely a good place to stop for a snack, lunch, beer or wine.

Yelp
Great find in an adorable antiquing town. The staff is friendly. The decor is cute and welcoming. I enjoyed a chicken salad salad. And very kid friendly.

Amanda S.

Yelp
Want to commend the person working behind the counter on Saturday, June 13th. They were extremely busy since there was only one other place to eat open. She kept her cool and was friendly with everyone. The salads we ordered were delicious. Thank you

Damon T.

Yelp
I'm so thankful to Yelp because I thought the rude treatment I just received at this place was just me, or my imagination, but several others seem to have had the exact same experience. I can't vouch for the food because I left right after the owner failed to return my nice greeting, and answered my question about food service very rudely. Seems to be a pattern. Too bad because the atmosphere seems nice, especially the patio with a fire pit.

Mark R.

Yelp
Delicious food, great service and a very cool location. We took our young family for brunch after a hike at the nearby state park. Coffee was amazing. There was also a small but mighty breakfast buffet that was delicious. We also tried the quiche and grilled cheese both of which were superb. There is an adjoining wine bar with a good selection of craft beer on tap as well. This was closed on the Sunday morning we were there but looked like a great option for a drink with some very interesting and historic Indiana memorabilia throughout the room. Highly recommend.

Christy H.

Yelp
We've been twice and each time was a disaster. The staff is rude. The place is dirty. The food is unremarkable at best. And it's expensive.

Yelp
Exceptional service, food, and atmosphere. Come here for delicious coffee, food, and libations.

Yelp
Unfortunately we took a detour to eat at this place in hopes to have a glass of wine as well. There was an older lady behind the wine bar who was really snooty & was like can I help you...no one was on the cafe side to help us. Very unprofessional as we were ordering the lady was telling us about all her personal problems. The quiche was wet, jiggly and disgusting. Veggie soup was good. We didn't even get wine bc the lady at the wine bar was so rude we didn't want to give the business anymore money. So we left disappointed and hungry!

Susan R.

Yelp
My family visited this restaurant for lunch. The meal was very good. I had the club sandwich which was put on a panini press. The bread had the perfect crispness to it, but I did miss having lettuce and tomato on the sandwich. The sandwiches were served with the sauces on the side. My daughter had the turkey, spinach and provolone cheese panini with a garlic aioli. The aioli was devine. My husband had the Rueben. He said it was the best Rueben he had probably ever had and that was because of his dressing. My daughter had a peach smoothie too. I am not a fan of smoothies. I tasted hers, and I could now be a convert. It was delicious. My husband had the tomato and basil soup with his sandwich. He said it was good but maybe too much mail in some spoonfuls. In addition, the croutons had Italian seasoning on them, and they were over seasoned. So why four stars instead of five? I would have to say the prices. It was over $45 for three sandwiches and a smoothie. Would I choose to eat there again? Yes, even with the prices.

Maereed S.

Yelp
AMAZING FOOD! Grumpy cashier. Saw a 3 year old drink an entire caffeinated Coke. Order the quesadilla, comes with chips and salsa. Reminds you of simpler times. Would recommend to friends and enemies.

Yelp
Fabulous for adults, if you have children they can not enter the building... It was hot in the summer they had fans but had to sit outside with the kids. They do have a cute comfortable outdoor porch and green grass yard for the kids to run and play in. Just dont let them run out the open gate on to the street. The lavender cookies are great and so was the cheese plate. Was a great stop for a snack and a beer or glass of wine!!!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a terrific place, and anyone in the area is missing out if they don't stop in here. Their beer is great (particularly their unique Harmonie Bier), and so is the service. It's a real gem. I always stop here when I'm in New Harmony.

Richard M.

Yelp
Food is wonderful, but service is disorganized and terribly slow. Not sure why there is only one person at the counter trying to do everything. Great atmosphere and friendly, but the wait time is too long.

Yelp
Wonderful place, food and service! We had a family reunion and went here a little late for dinner. We were a party of twelve. We ate on the patio and the owners were very kind and considerate. The menu was great and the food delicious. A great place to eat or just chill!

Amy R.

Yelp
I always look forward to my time in New Harmony and that includes eating at Sara's! The food is fresh and unique; the coffee drinks are delicious and the wine bar is fabulous and fun! The feel is very true to the artsy community of New Harmony. I just everything about Sara's!

Miriam C.

Yelp
Delicious! My friend got the quiche & soup, which she liked, and I got the salad with chicken salad - fresh and tasty. Liked the iced coffee. Nice eclectic coffee shop and wine and beer next door.
