Sara's was inadvertently the central point of our entire visit.
Culinarily, it is open for the lunch we needed with pretty standard fare expertly executed. The food is on the high end of what I like to pay for lunch, but the sandwiches and quiche were both excellent. Surprisingly, the broccoli salad was the high point with amazing flavor!
Geographically, the shop sits right smack dab in the center of town with the trails and photo spots to the north and antiquing to the south. You will pass by the building multiple times a day if you spend time in town.
Chronologically, the wine bar is one of the few spots open late. And when I say late, I mean, like 8 p.m. The wine bar pushed it into 5 star territory for me. With decor that carries over the old-fashioned whimsy of the main building and ups it with giant circus advertisements, I really liked the vibe. There is a great little "alley" seating area to the side that is also dog-friendly (Hi, George!). The bartender was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable about the area and just plain fun to talk to! The wine and beer selection (no liquor) wasn't especially deep, but definitely broad enough to meet most tastes.
