I had decent experience here. Rooms are old, high ceiling, but generally well maintained. Amenities are available. Bathrooms are small with water spraying around from shower- they need more maintenance. Service is good. I also bought the tickets for Borobudur from the reception. Swimming pool & the courtyard is nice. Structure gives a vibe of old French colonial style of an era. One of the better hotels in front of Borobudur. Lots of groceries, food options , night hawker stalls located just in front.

very well located hotel with friendly staff. the breakfast was good, not amazing but fine for the location. The pool is lovely and deserted. if you stay in a large room overlooking the pool, however, be prepared for a very loud mosque nearby that gets going at 4:00 am or so... Our room had 1.5 baths which was a nice convenience!

This is an average 3 star hotel. It’s an old colonial era hotel with v old flooring and style. But the rooms are very ordinary. They didn’t have hand towels, a/c wasn’t working, no soap in the basin area. Food menu tok is very limited. Though the location is good right next to the Borobudur structure.

A decent older Indonesian hotel but my experience there was spoiled by the mosque next door blaring the call to prayer. I couldn't wait to leave.

This hotel is one of the best place we have been in Indonesia. We loved the set-up, as if it has been a colonial governmental palace. It isnt, however. It is new built. The place feels grand and is grand. The swimming pool is nice and gives lots of room to move. The suite is great, very big. The people are just wonderful. The Borobudur very close indeed, easy access therefore. Food is good enough. Breakfast is OK.

Our family had a great experience with the Sarasvati Borobudur. The staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful and spacious. Location was perfect as walking distance to visit Borobudur temple as well as the UNESCO world heritage site.  In general, everything went good and will recommend to friends.

My room washroom encounter the stinky smells on the 1st night, very unfortunate the phone inside the room also out of order too. I’ve to close the door properly before sleep yet still have unpleasant smells in the room. I’ve told the night shift front desk officer about it, however he seems don’t understood and didn’t get the issue settle. Hence, I’ve requested to upgrade on the next day to the day time front desk officer, Herman if the issue can’t be solved. However, it’s fully booked, so I felt upset and helpless. Therefore, I’ve stressed to him I’m unable to give good rating in this case and get him to my room and experience it. He immediately understood the issue and get someone to resolve the issue after I went out for early dinner. Afterwards the issue only comes back in a while and gone. Herman had got the cleaner take note of the issue too over the 6 days 5 nights stay. I would like to give the compliment to Herman for this case. Besides, though the breakfast served only simple food, however I think is good for nutrition and everything are fresh. Especially the juice and fruit sections.

We have been travelling around Indonesia for a few weeks so far and stayed at a lot of hotels, all varying budgets. We loved the colonial look of Sarasvati Hotel and the generous rooms and decided to book after not seeing anything in the area that appealed more to us. ||I am SO glad we chose this hotel. An inviting entrance way with lovely plants and trees greeted us, and the hotel itself was beautiful with a huge high ceilinged lobby. ||We were checked in by a lovely member of staff and made our way up to our room on the first floor, up a beautiful twisting staircase. The room we booked was a standard double but it was still very big (also thanks to the high ceilings throughout the building) and had a balcony overlooking the pool and surrounding garden. ||The room was very clean with a generous bathroom (albeit a little dark) with a good shower. The bed was super comfy with good pillows which we loved returning to after a gruelling sunrise volcano hike!||The weekend breakfast buffet was very good though not many options and no tea (I’m sure I could have asked for one but was more than happy with the delicious juice on offer). ||We then chose an Indonesian breakfast for the next breakfast we had which was delicious (I had the soup and my husband had the Nasi Goreng which he thoroughly enjoyed. We also opted for dinner on one evening which was equally as good.||The pool area is stunning, set in beautifully looked after gardens. We also enjoyed a massage in the pergola. ||Last mention is for the friendly and welcoming staff who were the icing on the cake for our stay. They are effortlessly good and we appreciated such a warm welcome when we returned from our trek.||I’d happily return here in a heartbeat and explore more of the beautiful town.
