Saratha Vilas Chettinad Palace - Hotel

A short stay turned out to be a truly amazing experience staying in this villa. The cleanliness, facilities and most important the service was excellent. Everyone was courteous, friendly & efficient. I cant remember all their names but Nachi & Alphi was alway there to ensure we were comfortable and to advise on any questions we had. They were both friendly, polite and knowledgeable. Nachi arranged a birthday cake for my husband and made his day by celebrating with all the staff and guests during breakfast. The chef Veerapandi was very passionate about his food. Both days he came out to meet us and explain the dishes which were very delicious. I would definitely like to come back and enjoy the hospitality this villa offers. Staying at this hotel was the absolute high point of my trip to India. It was like staying in an art gallery, meticulously curated with artifacts that were so beautiful. The lithographs in the front lobby were incredible. I learned about Indian history, art, and architecture just by staying in this building. The staff is incredible. The surroundings are unbelievable. When we pulled up in front, I had no idea what was in store. They opened the door and let us in and it was like being transported back hundreds of years to an incredible age of this area in India. I can’t recommend this place more highly the food is incredible. There’s not one thing that I would say negative about anything from my experience here please come to this amazing place. The staff let me do yoga this morning in the front lobby before anybody got up and it was one of the most epic experiences I could ever imagine.

Absolutely loved our stay at Saratha Villas! From the moment we entered, everything was seamless. The staff and management were so welcoming and kind. The room was well appointed and kept with the history of the building. I was really impressed with how much thought and care was put into the renovation of this amazing home. Food was excellent. The swimming pool was great to cool off after a hot day sughtseeing and cycling around the village.

Had a wonderful time at Saratha Vilas, it made a perfect base for a couple of days exploring the Chettinad villages. The property is tastefully restored to a very high standard. Lovely pool to retreat to on hot days, set in a lush garden. Very warm and attentive hospitality from the staff, and great meals (there are few places in the village to eat out, so you will likely take dinner at the hotel). Has much more of a high-end boutique feel than some of the other properties in the region. The village is quiet, so a few minutes on the bicycle has you in lush rice paddy fields. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the region.

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff were extremely accommodating and always ready to help. The heritage rooms were beautifully maintained, offering a perfect blend of comfort and charm. The swimming pool was clean and relaxing, and the food was delicious throughout our stay. Special appreciation to the friendly and helpful staff who made the experience even better.

Wonderful experience! The owners are very caring and make sure your stay is special. They even gave us a 6:00 pm checkout! The rest of the staff is warm, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a fantastic time roaming around the village on the free bikes and made use of the lovely swimming pool after a long day exploring. Another highlight of our trip was the tour through the Chettinad history that the hotel offered. This is a definite must! I will surely return to Chettinad and cannot imagine staying anywhere else!

We came here for our postwedding shoot. The place is calm, beautifully maintained, and has a lovely peaceful ambience. The staff were very friendly and kind. Alfi guided us throughout, and we also had breakfast there, prepared by Mariselvam. Since we were few in number, he made everything fresh for us instead of a buffet and it was absolutely delicious.

Compared to normal hotel rooms my review is unfair but compared to similar properties I would stand by it . The stand out feature of our stay was the owners and staff . The staff are fantastic. The owners just ignored us unless you count a couple of nods from one of them as hospitality. Maybe if we had been a group or French …….
