Saratha Vilas Chettinad Palace - Hotel

Had a wonderful time at Saratha Vilas, it made a perfect base for a couple of days exploring the Chettinad villages. The property is tastefully restored to a very high standard. Lovely pool to retreat to on hot days, set in a lush garden. Very warm and attentive hospitality from the staff, and great meals (there are few places in the village to eat out, so you will likely take dinner at the hotel). Has much more of a high-end boutique feel than some of the other properties in the region. The village is quiet, so a few minutes on the bicycle has you in lush rice paddy fields. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the region.

We recently stayed at Saratha Villas and had a truly wonderful experience. The ambience was beautiful, but what made it extra special was the exceptional hospitality of the staff. I developed a sore throat during the stay, and Kennedy immediately went out to get medicines and even prepared ginger tea with so much care. The food was authentic and delicious, every dish was memorable. The caramel pudding with a touch of lemon was absolutely outstanding! Highly recommend staying here to experience the true touch of Chettinad

A quaint place. Not small but tastefully done to maintain its originality. With just 10 rooms. Avery attentive staff and excellent chef table meals. Rooms are modern and amazingly well done and the home is a heritage property. Kiran and Nachi were very helpful. And the cafe staff Edward and his team, very warm and helpful. Overall. An amazing experience. Nothing missing.

Saratha Vilas is one of the mansions in the region that is restored to perfection with utmost thought. The hotel is impeccably kept. The staff at the hotel are courteous and very knowledgeable. They shared a few fascinating stories about the property and Ayyanar worship and guided us with places to explore nearby. I would definitely love to stay here again!

This hotel is a wonderfully renovated Chettinad mansion. The restaurant has excellent food (we had both breakfast and dinner). The staff is great too. There is a pool at the back, to unwind after a day long visit. The hotel is well located to visit the other mansions in the region. I definitely recommend this hotel.

It's basically like sleeping in a museum. The hotel is made from a typical Chettinad mansion and respects its structure. The restoration is perfect and the furnishings refined and elegant.|You are greeted by the very kind French owner.|The room is very large and comfortable. The bathroom is large and with separate toilet (French style). There's a very nice little shop. The staff is friendly, helpful and very attentive.|The wifi works well.|We spent the evening of 31 December here dining with the owners by the pool. Delicious people with eclectic and interesting conversation. Excellent cuisine (French fusion). Before dinner there was a show of traditional songs and dances from South India, very interesting and very good dancer.|Excellent breakfast, practically cooked at the moment.

I had a wonderful stay at Saratha Vilas! The mansion has been beautifully restored with modern amenities like nice bathrooms and a pool. It really is exquisite, full of arts and great atmosphere. The food was very tasty and the staff very attentive and professional. And don't miss getting a massage! For me it was great that it is located in a village, being able to just walk through the fields and forest and watch rural life and many birds. The brochure in the rooms is quite extensive with lots of information what to do, and of course the staff is always happy to help.

We enjoyed the stay thoroughly. Very good ambience. I need to make special mention of the staff. All are very caring, courteous and very helpful. The place has a personality of its own. Soak it in.
