This is quite a famous place for enjoying south indian dishes. We went during weekend for lunch and have to wait for 15-20 minutes for the table. The place is good sized with ample seatings available. Food is decent, we took thali, uttpam, appam, tomato rice along with filter coffee.

I recently stay Q2 in 2025 at The Saravana Restaurant, Connaught place, New Delhi, and my experience was truly unexceptional . From the moment I arrived the staff made me feel genuinely welcome. The room was spacious , tastefully designed and well maintained. The breakfast buffet, in particular, offered an excellent variety with a touch of local variety. 🍽️ Saravana Restaurant – Information & Review Summary Category Details ------------------------------------------------------------ Meal Type Lunch & Dinner (À la carte and buffet options available) Average Cost (Per Person) ₹200 – ₹400 Food Quality ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Exceptional taste, beautifully presented, and freshly prepared Service Standards ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Courteous staff with prompt and professional assistance Ambience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Refined interiors with a serene and elegant setting Noise Level Quiet and comfortable – perfect for relaxed dining or business meetings Wait Time Minimal – seamless service and well-timed courses Parking Facilities Complimentary on-site parking for guests Recommended For Families, couples, and professionals seeking a refined stay and dining experience Overall Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.8/5) – A balanced blend of luxury, comfort, and hospitality excellence

Yesterday, we went to Saravana Bhavan, and what a feast it was—it was outstanding! The vibe of the place feels like it's straight out of the temples of South India. We ordered Ghee Podi Idly, Ghee Roast Dosai, Rava Masala Dosai, and Filter Coffee. The idly was melting in the mouth, every bite of the ghee dosai was richly flavored with ghee, and the rava masala dosai was perfectly crunchy with a delicious filling. Special appreciation must go to their chutneys, but the true star of the show was the filter coffee—rich, warm, and deeply comforting. If you are a hardcore lover of South Indian cuisine, step there without a doubt. 🌟

I’ve been visiting this place for the past seven years, and I’ve always found their food quality to be excellent. My favorite dish is the Masala Dosa, and it has always tasted delicious to me. However, this time I felt quite disappointed. I came from Haryana and brought along a friend from Raipur, with whom I had often talked about this restaurant before. My friend from Raipur had also mentioned that the food here is really good and tasty. But in the end, we ordered filter coffee, and we were not at all satisfied with it. Based on my experience at other restaurants, filter coffee is always served hot. But at Saravana Bhavan, the filter coffee we received was not hot — it was just normal in temperature. I even mentioned this to the manager, saying that we came from far away and that our experience was ruined because of the coffee. He simply said they would take care of it next time. In other restaurants, customer satisfaction is given priority so that guests leave happy — no matter how that has to be ensured. Overall, I would advise others to be careful when ordering filter coffee here or clearly mention in advance that they want it served hot. Apart from that, we were very satisfied with the food and would definitely give it five stars.

The food quality was decent; however, it would have been more enjoyable had it been served hot. Despite the presence of numerous staff members at the restaurant, the service was notably delayed, which reflects a lack of customer-centric approach. On a positive note, the Basundi was well-prepared and stood out among the offerings. Not worth the hype anymore.

Visited Sarwan Bhawan with hopes of enjoying a good South Indian meal in the heart of Delhi, but the experience was underwhelming. Food: The food was strictly average — nothing stood out in terms of taste or freshness. It’s edible but not something you’d come back for. Ambience: The ambience leaves a lot to be desired. Visible *seepage on the walls with foul smell*, and a generally neglected feel pull down the overall experience. Service: Service was okay — not rude, but not attentive either. It felt like a routine job for the staff, with minimal engagement. With so many great options nearby, Sarwan Bhawan doesn’t quite make the cut. Needs major improvement in ambience and consistency in food quality to justify a revisit. .

A long wait outside the restaurant. Food was ok. This restaurant has lost the charm. Earlier the sambhar used to be very tasty but this time it doesn't have any taste. Drinks were the only item which we liked the most. Service is the plus point only because the order came within minutes.

As someone who’s new to the eateries in Delhi, I came across this place while looking for authentic South Indian food. The glowing reviews caught my attention, and I decided to give it a try for lunch — and honestly, I was not disappointed at all! The food truly lived up to the praise. The place offers great value for money, especially considering Delhi’s usual pricing standards. I ordered three items — Ghee Pongal, Mixed Uttapam, and the Mini Tiffin (which also came with Ghee Pongal). Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The sambar had just the right balance of spice and tang, and the chutneys complemented the food beautifully. But the real showstopper for me was their Sooji Halwa (Rava Kesari). It was absolutely divine — soft, aromatic, and rich in ghee without being overly sweet. I genuinely wished I had ordered more of it. Overall, this place is a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic South Indian flavors in Delhi. The food quality, portion size, and pricing make it well worth the visit. If I ever visit New Delhi again, this will definitely be one of the first places I order from.
