AVOID!!! My husband and I stayed at this hotel a few years ago for the Cairns Ironman weekend. I'd booked the room well in advance and when I got to the room I was surprised that it was just a double room and not a 1 bedroom apartment that I'd booked and paid for. Not only that, the room was dirty. I went to reception several times, however there wasn't anyone there. When I got home I phoned the hotel but didn't get an answer. I left a message, which was never returned. I emailed several times and again no answer. I had a friend who had her booking cancelled that year the day before the Ironman - the hotel stated 'maintenance issues'. The next year I booked again, well in advance (only because of the limited accommodation at Palm Cove on the Ironman weekend). The week before I got a call from the hotel saying that they had to cancel my booking. We had to stay in Cairns instead that year. This year I was desperate for accommodation and again booked this hotel. I received an email from the hotel a week before the Ironman saying that due to unexpected maintenance issues, they had to cancel my room. I wonder if they accept early bookings, but then cancel them last minute so they can rebook at a higher rate. After this happened for a second year in a row I was understandably upset and thought I'd try to contact the property again to at least get a refund for the very first booking for when I booked and paid for an apartment but was given a double room. Still unable to get a reply from them!

I had the most relaxing time at Sarayi hotel 🏨 with my French bulldog Dolly. We stayed in the beachfront apartment it is well presented, very clean, cozy and comfortable. Had the best sleep after a beautiful evening out at my friend’s wedding. Great location cafes and restaurants next door, great for your early morning coffee and stroll on the beach 🏝️ . Laid by the pool Sunday catching ☀️ rays perfect ending to my weekend . Paul is very welcoming and accommodating. I will stay again and request for the same room. Thank you Sarayi hotel 🏨 💁🏻‍♀️

It is great for those travelling with pets as they are accommodated in some rooms. Literally across the road from the beach lovely surroundings with a great small restaurant specialising in prawns and seafood with a bar....the hotel has a lovely rooftop pool and spa and large balcony. It would be great for functions as well. Could do with a bit of sweeping up and furnishing to encourage usage, but otherwise glad it was there.

My friend and I stayed here for a night and we loved it! It is a lovely little hotel and the staff are incredible sweet and accommodating. The rooms are clean, the pool area is awesome and it is just a few steps away from the beach and many lovely restaurants. Highly recommend! Thank you to Paul for being so accommodation!

Absolutely terrible – avoid at all costs! We booked this hotel expecting a simple, clean place to stay. What we found was a completely different story. The hotel looked abandoned, it smelled awful, and the security guard was aggressive. The entire place felt unsafe, so we decided not to check in at all. Despite this nightmare experience — and even with video proof of the terrible conditions — we have been refused a refund. Customer service was unhelpful, and our money is simply lost. I strongly do not recommend this hotel. Save yourself the stress and choose a different property.

This hotel is very run down and in need of repairs. There appears to be only one person working there who seems to be both working on reception and cleaning rooms so is rarely available. There was no communication regarding check in or the hotel facilities. We had one towel each for the duration of our stay (4 nights) and they were constantly wet as there was no exhaust fan in the run down old bathroom. Our room was very small and not at all like any of the rooms portrayed on the website, even the ‘budget room’. The room beside us was ‘pet friendly’ so we had a barking dog next door. The only redeeming factor was that the bed was comfortable - oh and the great location.

We just had a four night stay at Sarayi which is in a fantastic location right on the beach front at Palm Cove. The rooms were very comfortable and the rooftop was a lovely place to sit and relax in the afternoon before dinner. Shout out to Paul who was super helpful and my husband will be forever grateful for his locksmith skills.

Stayed 2 nights, room was comfortable and quiet. Right across from beach, restaurant and jetty. Definitely will stay there again.

Yelp
Being Cairns locals, my Fiance and I are scouting nearby places to hold our wedding and possibly honeymoon for next year. We chose Sarayi as one of the places to stay back in April this year. We originally had booked a Hotel Room, but were surprised and delighted to have been given a complimentary upgrade to a 1 Bedroom Spa Ocean View Room (and we got a local rate as well which made it even sweeter) The room was breathtakingly stunning, the front doors opened to a fabulous balcony where we could see the ocean from maybe 20m away! The decor was very modern, leather lounge, funky lamps and a really comfy bed. The spa we didnt use but the shower was amazing! It really felt like a home away from home. Unfortunately the weather wasnt the best, but we had an amazing time. We want to come back soon! We did eat at the Rising Sun restaurant the first night but weren't too impressed with the service and attitude of staff. Plus the cost of the food we got didn't equal the quality (and we spent nearly $100 for the two of us) But dont let that keep you away from the amazing team at Sarayi - thankyou to Hayley for being so accommodating!

Yelp
Absolutely loved this hotel! The man who runs the reception (and lives in the building) is so nice .... He gave us tips on where to eat, what to do, and what to see. The room was clean and was supplied with ample pillows and blankets. The air conditioner worked beautifully! And the shower was great! I'm giving this hotel four stars because the wifi only works in the lounge AND because on the last night we were there a loud wedding was happening on the roof and it made for an insanely noisy night. I want to reiterate that it would have been ok had we not had an infant with us. The hallways and lounge have a mean echo. Bottom line is I would stay here again, but I'd first check to see if they have a wedding booked for the same weekend!

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at Sarayi very much so that if we ever go back to Aus and are in Cairns we would be delighted to stay there. We love the low key atmosphere and the owner and the assistant were helpful and kind. Almost all living in Aus are kind though :) We came and went as we pleased and the upstairs terrace held a pool where we enjoyed watching the stars in peace. The price is affordable and the room is spacious, clean and equipped with the amenities you would need after all those big meals out become take home meals. Thank you!
