They say this is one of the most popular places for pav bhaji in Mumbai — but hang on, guys, this place is seriously overrated. First of all, it took 25 minutes to serve the pav bhaji. For a dish that’s supposed to be their fastest and most-sold item, that’s just way too long. Secondly, the bhaji was very basic in flavor — nothing special, nothing that justifies the hype. But the real disappointment was the pav. It was half-cooked, stale, and tasted far from fresh. When I raised the issue with the staff, I was casually told, “That’s how it is served.” For a place known for pav bhaji, that’s unacceptable. Not worth the wait, the hype, or the price.

Visited Sardar Pav Bhaji on 16th June 2025 for lunch, and as always, it lived up to its name. Located at Junction 166-A, Tardeo, this iconic spot is known for serving arguably the best pav bhaji in Mumbai. I had been craving a proper pav bhaji experience and this place didn’t disappoint. Went there with a friend and ordered just one Amul Pav Bhaji—which is more than enough for one person in my opinion due to the generous serving of bhaji. We ended up ordering 5 extra pavs, and they were perfectly buttered and soft. What stood out this time was how peaceful and empty the place was—probably thanks to the heavy monsoon rains. Usually, there’s always a crowd and a wait time of 5-10 minutes minimum. Apart from the pav bhaji, we also tried their Caramel Custard and Chocolate Mousse, both priced at ₹70 each. And let me say—what a fantastic way to end the meal. Both desserts were light, creamy, and balanced the richness of the bhaji perfectly. The total bill came to ₹499, and it was absolutely worth it. Just a heads-up—avoid taking your personal vehicle as parking is a big hassle. Best to take a train and a cab or bus. Highly recommended!

Absolutely enjoyed the pav bhaji here. Very tasty and consistent over the past many years. It's a different genre of pav bhaji all together, one must experience . They do justice to 'Amul' Pav bhaji. If you're a fan of Amul butter, you're going to love this. Chatted up with the owner, was impressed to know that attention to detail has been the key for this joint over the years , for eg. the paav is specially sourced , rather than relying on the next door bakery. Keep up the good work !

If you are in Mumbai and craving pav bhaji 'Sardar Pav Bhaji, is one of the most famous names you'll hear. but what I found is - The taste is okay, not something extraordinary, but worth trying once for the experience. The bhaji is loaded with excessive butter which might be a bit too much for some people. But it is famous for this excessive butter and nothing else. I would recommend visiting at least once, just to see what the hype is about.

I have been living in Mumbai all my life and I probably must be living under a rock to not know how popular this place is for PAV BHAJI. Finally I tried it, and surely it’s worth the hype!! How it tastes like: It has a very simple and light taste to it. Not very spicy (I like it spicy) but yet delicious and super buttery. Must try at-least once or a lot more times. (Just know the place will always be packed with customers, no matter what day it is, it’s always very busy!!)

This restaurant is overhyped for its quality of food served. The taste of Pavbhaji was similar to other restaurants. There is prominent taste of butter 🧈. They add too much butter. Also the price is higher than others and its not worth the quality and quantity. Also the cost of extra pav was higher. There is no any facility for parking. Also there was waiting for 30-45 minutes.

Worst! Pav bhaji ever I have tried, this is the first time I visited to this place for the late night dinner with my cousins and it was horrible experience for us. I need to asked them to give some pav from butter. I have always heard in my childhood this pav bhaji restaurant served best pav bhaji of Bombay. However, after tried their pav bhaji, I thought I was the happiest person who has not tried till now. But it was my bad day that someone took me on this place to try their garbage.
