We stayed in this hotel in May 2025 in a small-group tour. I would have given this hotel a higher review but for two staff incidents.
The first: our tour included breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast, as interpreted by the hotel operator, translated into one small cup of coffee. Want a second cup? They brought me one, and promptly charged me 180 Leks. An unwelcome surprise! This did not endear the hotel to me. The next day I went outside to buy one at half the price. I recommend you do so, also, if you’re staying there.
The second: our air conditioning did not work. We returned one night to find the room hot as a proofing oven. The night clerk was called, could not fix the air conditioning, could not find us a room with functioning air conditioning, could only suggest that we sleep with the windows open, as the hotel was “on a quiet street.” Not exactly so.
The next morning, bleary-eyed, I went to the front desk, and told them that I didn’t want to pay for that night’s accommodation as, in light of the amount of sleep we got, we could have been clubbing. The clerk,
1. Refused any compensation, as the night was gone.
2. Accused us of fiddling with the air conditioning, which we did not, though her colleague did.
3. Took my email address so that she could throw it out, instead of showing it to her manager.
4. Never apologized for any discomfort that they caused us!
Call me petty, but the last was the worst. Where’s hospitality when you want it? Not there, not with them. The hotel has good bones, the rooms were kept clean, it has a nice garden where you can sit and sip some beverage. It’s a pity that the management is so ill-versed in making one feel welcome.
