I've never expected a safari would be or feel so luxurious... the tent was 5 stars. Has everything and more for a comfortable stay in the desert. Everything was included. 2 rides per day... Food look great but only tasted ok. Our guide was good but could be friendly, better sense of humour. Would love to go again....

We recently stayed at Saseka Tented Camp for 3 nights, with the whole experience, simply wonderful. From the accommodation, surroundings, friendly service and the game driving, there are just not enough superlatives to describe our awesome experience. We would definitely stay again. Thanks to our ranger and tracker Grant #silverfoxsafaris and Moses and to all the other friendly staff including Abee and Reni. Thanks also go to #Go2Africa for organising our full itinerary for us. Exceptional from beginning to end.

Literally one of the best if the best lodge is South Africa. Service was impeccable, lodge is stunning, views are amazing and most importantly the game drives are amazing. We are grateful to see the Big 5 + more within 3 games drives (2 days) and up close. They off road so the viewing of the animals is insane! Richard is one of the best rangers there on the reserve! If you stay there I highly recommend you ask for Richard, he is very informative and also very fun to be with. Very exclusive lodge

We stayed at Saseka Tented camp at Thornybush for 3 nights following 3 nights in Sabi Sands. Overall our experience was good...but just not nearly as incredible or memorable as the lodge we stayed in at Sabi Sands. I know that every lodge is different and can be like comparing apples to oranges...however at the price point that these luxury lodges charge per night....there should be a standard that they all maintain to justify that pricing.||The tented suites are beautifully luxurious....but they are tents. The air-conditioning wall unit will be working very hard to keep it cool during the heat of day and the chill at night will permeate. This is no fault of the lodge...but something to be aware of. There are not insulated walls to keep you cool or warm. That said, the tents definitely evoke that "Out Of Africa" vibe and are really cool to experience. ||The lodges common areas are beautiful with light colors and open onto the river bed below. This may sound nit picky...but the decking throughout the lodge and around the rooms and walkways feels "plastic" like and not of a quality that we have seen at other lodges. It had a camp ground feel that didn't match the lodges beautiful decor. ||The food was incredible and the staff were always cheerful and attentive and striving to do everything they could to make your time at breakfasts lunches and dinners the absolute best.....and they succeeded. We loved the GM and all of the butlers and staff. The menus were delicious and varied and all of the wines and alcohol were terrific. ||Our game drives were the thing that left us a bit disappointed. Our guide would spend an hour, sometimes more, driving around and up and down never seeing a single animal and never crossing paths with another vehicle....which is where I started to become a bit annoyed. There are many other lodges that share traversing rights in Thornybush and, when we would have a sighting, we would often have to park a distance away and wait for other vehicles to depart before we could make our way to see the animals. This is normal for all of the lodges in the different game reserves as they don't want to stress the animals and have too many vehicles bombarding the area at once. However, to drive for half of the morning or afternoon drive, seemingly no where, not passing another vehicle...not a single one....just felt lazy and unmotivated to actually guide and track. To make matters worse, several times our guide would become belligerent or condescending to the other people in the vehicle when they asked questions. It seemed he had a bit of a chip on his shoulder from anyone that had experienced game drives before, as all 6 people in our vehicle had, and would simply shut down or ignore questions. I thought this was a bit of a language or cultural barrier, but a couple from Cape Town were also in our Land Cruiser and he was just as rude to them...so I think it is more that he doesn't enjoy interacting with guests that much.||Lastly, during the game drives you stop halfway through in the morning to have coffee and snacks and in the afternoon game drive you stop to have cocktails and snacks at sundown. Our guides time management and desire to stop and interact with his 6 guests was not great. One morning he eliminated our stop for coffee and snacks all together. He told us that there was not enough time even though we had been out for the same 3 hour morning drive as we had been on the day before. On all 3 evening stops for drinks we missed the sunset as he drove around trying to find a spot to park the Land Cruiser and, so, we had cocktails in the twilight and dusk before packing up in the dark and heading straight back to camp. ||My feeling is when you pay this much money for the experience of a luxury lodge and all of the bells and whistles that go along with it, you deserve to have all of those bells and whistles. Were this a much lower price point stay....this might be more forgivable, but it isn't. When you have spent the time and money to come this far for what most people call a bucket list once in a lifetime experience, you shouldn't have this many misses. I do think Saseka is a wonderful lodge and we just happened to experience some not so great moments....and hopefully they will listen to this and the feedback others have given and make sure that no one else has a similar experience.

Our family of five stayed at Little Saseka in October 2024, and even months later, as I look through our incredible photos, I feel compelled to express our gratitude again. This was, without a doubt, one of the most extraordinary trips we've ever taken. Accommodation The luxurious tented suites at Saseka are nothing short of breathtaking. Stylish, beautifully designed, and completely private, they make you feel as though you are alone in the wilderness, surrounded only by nature. Floor-to-ceiling glass offers uninterrupted views, allowing us to watch monkeys and kudus drinking from our plunge pool and even spot elephants in the distance while soaking in the bathtub. The indoor and outdoor showers were a fantastic touch, making us feel even closer to nature. Service The service at Saseka is beyond exceptional. Our butler, Mr. T, was an absolute gem—unbelievably friendly, funny, and attentive. His energy at 5 AM was unmatched, and he always went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable. A special thanks as well to the chef and hotel manager (whose names I wish I had noted) for their outstanding hospitality. Food Wow—just wow! We are usually quite selective when it comes to food, but every single meal at Saseka was exquisitely prepared, flavorful, and abundant. The highlight was our final evening: a barbecue in the bush, in the very spot where, just a day before, we had watched an elephant and a leopard pass through. It was an unforgettable experience. Game Drives The game drives were the primary reason for our trip, as this was our first African safari—and what an introduction it was! Words cannot fully capture the feeling of seeing a pride of lions resting in the shade, watching a leopard high up in a tree with its kill, or witnessing elephants push over a dead tree right before our eyes. It was pure magic. A huge thank you to our guide, Josia, and our tracker, Antony. Not only were they extremely knowledgeable, but their sense of humor made every drive even more enjoyable. Final Thoughts If you're considering a stay at Saseka, stop thinking and just book it. This is luxury, adventure, and the raw beauty of Africa all wrapped into one. We cannot recommend it highly enough!

Accommodations perfect, food good ( could step it up a bit…..plenty of fruit options but minimal salads & veggies), staff superior as was our experiences on the game drives with Rudi & Kenneth…..They were all a part of making our trip an epic one!!!

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Saseka Tented Camp in October 2024, and I can say it is truly one of the most beautiful safari lodges we have ever been to. The tents are absolutely stunning and so comfortable, with great attention to details. The food at Saseka Tented Camp was excellent! I am still dreaming of some of the lunches they served us: small plates of salad, meat, etc. It was delicious! :) The staff was perfect (I am so annoyed right now that I cannot remember our butler's name because he was super nice), they are all so helpful and nice. We really enjoyed our safari drives with Joe and Abed! We got to see so much. And by chance we got paired with another guest who we had so much fun with! It was an unfortgettable stay! Would love to visit again in the future. Thank you very much! Cheers from London

Having experienced two safari camps in Botswana previously that were fabulous, I wondered before embarking on my trip how Saseka would compare. Well, they were every bit as outstanding as my previous experiences, and then some! |The staff treats all their guests as family and takes care of any need or want, big or small. I in particular was concerned about my dietary needs as I am plant-based. The chef did an outstanding job with every meal, had food prepared just for me, and remembered all the little details that many places overlook. Coffee creamer, dessert, bread, even my own butter! Every meal was beautiful visually, and so delicious. If you have dietary concerns, they will take excellent care of you at Saseka.|The game drives were highly enjoyable with our knowledgeable guide Greg and tracker Hendrick. They accommodated our desire to see various animals and provided lots of educational dialog as we drove. And they were fun to be around!|The tented suites are just lovely -- look at any of the photos here and you will get a good idea of the beauty of the accommodations. I wish my apartment was half as nice!|I would definitely go back to Saseka and consider it a privilege to have visited such a wonderful place!
